This is a 5 year ownership review of my Can-Am Outlander 570 XMR. I purchased this ATV brand new in 2016 and will go into what I liked, what I didn't like, and why I sold the machine. If you're in the market for a 570 XMR, then this is a video you do not want to miss!

I just purchased my first ATV back in March and it's a Outlander XMR 650 and it has more power then I ever thought I would need. Awesome machine. There are some videos on my channel showing it.

Great review. Your wish for a temp gauges has come true! 2021's now have a temp gauges; a bar style one and the option to see the actual temperature. So far, I've put 750mi on my machine and it's been great. Maybe they fixed all the little things you mentioned. I also have a set of trail wheels/tires. The mega Mayhems that come on it are too aggressive for the trail but as mentioned, it's a mud machine so it's made for that purpose.

That is good to hear! Can-Am finally added a temperature gauge to these machines. I wonder what year they started doing it? Thanks for letting me know.

Hey man, these quads have excellent engine braking. I do agree that they could last longer, but I really do not need to slam on my breaks too often on my 500L.

I agree! The engine braking is very good. I hardly EVER used my brakes and was really surprised how quickly they wore out.

When you get your 850 please tell us how much extra fuel your using. I feel my type of riding a 570 would be more than enough and if it's the difference between my 700cc sportsman and my buddy's 400cc arctic cat the fuel savings would be worth not having that extra power that most never use. I heard new 570 have more power than old 700s. Let us know if that's true aswell. Thanks for the video

The fuel consumption between my 570 and 850 feels about the same. The 570 is a good engine, I just had a desire for more power.

I'm surprised you got that many miles out of them! Do you not use your brakes? ;) Actually, i'm not the only one who has complained about the longevity of the brake pads on Can-Ams. This problem is talked about quite often on the forums as well by other owners. Enjoy your 570! They really are great machines once you get some of the bugs worked out.

be safe with these stock pads ! Mine were completely dead at 600 miles and I wasn't even using them, just natural wear of pads rubbing dirt on disk. Keep your eye very on these very often cause just a small blocking of the brake caliper and they are dead in less than 10km (from what my dealer said it's what appened since the wear was inegal between every pads, and they are so soft that a very small pressure could just worn them so if your calipers are a bit dirty, pads basically last one ride)

I've had mine for 5 years and it's had zero problems, brakes are still like new and all the other things you had problems with like the buttons hard to push that happened on my Honda, little wd 40 took care of that. Breaks is something that the owner can be responsible for we all ride different, and your complaining and you've haven't had another to compare to, try the others like me and you'll quit complaining about nothing, you say your in the mud it will have more problems than if you never mind your machine. This is so minor and you sounded like you wanted another brand and you picked basically the same thing. Be happy can am is the king of mud and just about everything else it does as well.

Edward, I think you may have misunderstood my review. The brake pads wearing prematurely is a common complaint among Can-Am owners. A simple search on the forum or FB Groups will reveal that. Also, there is nothing wrong with a little criticism about a product, hopefully that will only motivate them to build a better product. Thanks for the dislike! :)

8:07. Loosening lug nuts by pulling UP on the breaker bar. Gravity is a constant and your friend ( or enemy ). It's nice to be young and dumb with a good back, but as time goes on at least two of those things Will change. Push Down ( perferably with your foot ) on the breaker bar. . . .

XMR shocks are different from basic 570 one ? Because mine are pretty soft and absorbs a lot of bump. You maybe said it in the video but I probably missed it (I am not english native so that doesn't help ^^) but how much miles did you put on it ? I have the same problem for the DPS button btw on a 2021, it's pretty stiff while it was like a normal button when brand new. Idk why, but it's not that bad for the moment so I hope it will not get worst (and if it appen, not a big deal I have 3 year warranty anyway). As someone else said, every new G2L and 650 got new digital gauge who is pretty nice (even 450 I think, depend country) and it have temperature display. And I think the viscolock was pretty bad but the new abs system is even worse, idk why they can't put a real locker on small displacement machines :(
@DIYDanCars
@DIYDanCars 3 жыл бұрын
I believe the shocks between the base and XMR are the same, it's the springs that are different. The stiffer springs on the XMR do not absorb bumps as gracefully as the ones on the base model.
@destinhook3826
@destinhook3826 3 жыл бұрын
The XMR got stiffer, taller springs to fit the bigger tires, which is why it rides much stiffer. I’ve owned a 570 XMR Outlander, 570 base Outlander and a 570 XMR Renegade with the Fox shocks. The base by far is the most comfortable.
