I bought the 595LM at Christmas and love it. I went camping at Unicoi State Park Friday and rode all over the North Georgia mountains Saturday and the Garmin never missed a beat. I used my phone GPS for years and found it would set a route going but once you got to your destination if there was no cellular service then the GPS app was useless. I updated the Garmin before I ever used it and after two hours it had every road known to man in North America stored. Thanks for sharing and ride safe.

I was out in the North Georgia country roads and foothills this past weekend too. Glad to have the Garmin with me. Thanks for watching and ride safe.

I really like it too. It’s a very sturdy unit and I can see the screen just fine. It connects to my Sena 20S headset pretty easily and the voice directions really help. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.

Good for trips and seeing the angle of bends ahead

I got the Garmin 595 when it came out. L9ve it. 595 does so much. It takes time to learn all it will do. I plan whole trips right on the GPS. So easy I don't use the computer.

I’ve found it easier just to use the Garmin to plan the trips too. Just getting into it, but Iove it it so far.

Great review. I have the Garmin Montana but have been thinking about getting the Zumo.

Congrats on the new GPS. I want one of those but gotta save up. It’s $1000.00 in Canada. Ride safe and keep up the great videos.

They are pricey for sure. But I think it’s the best one on the market. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.

The Zumo series are not cheap, but you can’t go wrong with a Garmin. Awesome addition to the bike bro!

I had the Harley branded Garmin 595 put on my bike when I bought it. I'm used to GPS on a bike, had it on my last two GSs, and wouldn't be without it. I haven't got a head set in my helmet, so I can't comment on that side of things, but for guidance they are great. One of the other replies below mentions how useful it is for seeing the bends coming up; that's great on twisty roads that you're not familiar with. I'm in England and another benefit is the way it switches mph to kph automatically.

I really like it so far. Being able to pair it with my Sena and hear the directions in my helmet is really helpful. I didn’t realize Harley had a branded version of this. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.

I just bought an 08 GL1800 and one of these were installed. I am now playing around with it. I didn’t realize how expensive these are but they do a lot

Garmin makes a good product and I liked it when I had it on my bike, which I have since sold, but looking back I think it was a little over priced. I just use my phone and Google maps now on my new motorcycle and other than not being glove friendly it works fine. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.

I have been waiting on someone to review this gps. I just could not pull the trigger myself. Might have a change of heart after your review. Thanks for sharing. Keep the shiny side up.

I don't think you can go wrong with this unit if you are willing and able afford it. For our style of motorcycle, it mounts very securely and looks great on the handlebars in my opinion. Thanks for watching and ride safe.

Yes I already put it on my wish lists hope next month I can afford it. Tax return already spent lol. Is the unit concerned water resistant. And is it easy to remove. Also do I need a ram be mount for it. Sorry for all the questions.

After watching you answered my question in the video. Prolly going to put it in my cart. Thanks again

Harley Moon Rider it is water resistant. Don’t think you can scuba dive with it, but it will be ok in the rain if you get caught out in it. The unit comes on and off the clip very easily so you can remove the unit itself from the bike and not risk getting it stolen. The mount comes in the box with the unit and you don’t need to buy anything else. It’s a complete package with the Garmin unit, cradle and mount. I think you will like it.

Hello Doug. I have the TomTom Unit (£80), but they are designed to stick to Car wind-screens, and I don't trust it stuck to my Petrol Tank, which means I don't use it...and I occasionally get lost!...😉...😉...Take care, Doug!

The cradle for the Garmin really mounts securely and you don’t have to worry about s charging cable since it’s wired directly to the battery. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe and don’t get lost!

Definitely worth the money if you do any cross country touring, especially once you learn how to use it. I use it for both my bike and truck.

I’ve really gotten used to it now and learned it and love it. It’s sturdy and readable in the sun and pairs easily with my Sena headset. Definitely worth the money. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.

Garmin definitely makes a decent product. We have a GPS built in on our Ultra but it is lacking in some features. Had a TomTom on our FJR which worked great but there was a big learning curve. The Garmins are much more user friendly.
@GARamblinMan4 жыл бұрын
I’ve always preferred the Garmin GPS units. I’ve owned Garmin and Tom Tom. I just like Garmin better. I really think with the advent of Apple and Android CarPlay in cars and on motorcycles the days of the built in GPS units may be numbered.
@motorcycleden4 жыл бұрын
@@GARamblinMan I think you are right. Don't see very many of them in stores and from what I see on forums and such, most people use their phones. It seems the more serious riders are the ones that purchase an actual GPS.

Can you plug in an address to Sturgis, SD and go? Or do you have to download a course of the trip?
@GARamblinMan3 жыл бұрын
You can just enter an address and it will plot the route for you and give you turn by turn directions. You can set preferences for your route such as avoiding highways, tolls and other options. Thanks for watching.

Are there any car mode in this unit, I want to used it inside my car.
@GARamblinMan5 жыл бұрын
A car mount comes in the box with the unit along with a cigarette lighter charger cord, so you can easily move it from your motorcycle to your car.
@icedagger6645 жыл бұрын
GA Ramblin Man Did you try on your car? I wonder if the unit acknowledges the vehicle as a car and not route to small street that only bike can use.
@GARamblinMan5 жыл бұрын
It works fine as a car GPS. You can set the route options to anything you want.

You didn't touch on the best feature of the garmin and thats satellite navigation. You get in the middle of nowhere and your cellphone GPS won't work. My 2019 has all of that fancy stuff you mentioned like apple car play. I just need to go to school to learn to use it. Ride safe.
@GARamblinMan5 жыл бұрын
That is a great safety feature. I ride a lot of places with spotty or no cell service. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.

I can’t bring myself to spend the money, I have an old car Garmin I put in my tank bag, or I use my smartphone.
@GARamblinMan5 жыл бұрын
It’s definitely expensive. The thing I like is the mount is so secure and wired to the battery’. The Garmin unit clips on and off it very easily. The good thing about having an older motorcycle that’s paid for is you have more money for accessories since there’s no monthly payment. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
