Excellent review. Came across you by accident but glad I did. I will plan on getting the Ringside for my home dojang. Suggestion: maybe it might make moving the bag easier by putting some kind of lasso (rope) around the base. I wonder how the Wavemaster XXL holds up? Thanks for the review.

Have seen about 10 reviews of the wave master - this is the first review where someone actually gave it a proper kick and showed what it can(not) do - thank you!!

We use the wavemaster in our gym. Filled to the max with sand it weighs about 150kg, and it is solid. The one is this video is either filled with feathers or the guy is the worlds strongest man.

After having the ringside elite for quite some time I recommend the wavemaster XXL. The ringside base comes in two pieces so it would be real difficult to move. I have mine filled with sand. It is nice because the base doesn't move when you hit or kick it. However, it would be better IMO if the bag didn't have so much sway. The bag feels nice to punch and kick without gloves. When I go to martial arts class I mess around with the wavemaster once in a while and I realize how nice it is to have a free standing back I can roll from one location to the next and which is rigid. Ultimately, I will probably sell the ringside and get the wavemaster instead.

This is literally the only real review of the ringside elite on the internet. I'm hoping someone will post a longer and more rigorous workout with the bag soon. Most of the free-standing bag reviews say the wavemaster XXL or 2XL is the best bag but I think the ringside might have it beat. It is a little tough to tell. I've had to watch this video like 15 times and use my imagination to get an idea how good the ringside is, lol. I'm thinking the wavemaster offers more resistance to a punch which is why it is more likely to tip over whereas the ringside has more sway due to the spring.

I purchased the Elite freestanding bag and it is very soft, I have been hitting it and I think that this bag is for cardio and not to build up power or condition your kicks. It is my humble opinion and I could be wrong.

I have 2XL, the older version filled with sand to more than a half of its capacity and it moves a bit on full contact combinations workout but you wouldn't be able to knock it over, not in the way the video shows. It is the best bag to have for full contact workout if you don't want to drill holes in your ceiling beams.

Excellent review. Top tips for moving the Ringside?

I got the ringside elite a few months ago. I really like it. The only thing i wish was different is the amount of sway. I wish it was just a tad more stiff. It wont knock over and the base doesnt slide around. It has also never leaked on me.

for a beginner which one you suggest in ringside, there is a lower version which is 24"in diameter?

Thanks for the helpful review. Have you guys ever had a wavemaster break at the base from a strong kick? Some reviews said they broke immediately. I'm looking for a durable freestanding bag that can take a lot of heavy kicks without breaking. It falling over is less of a concern for me.

I’ve been researching and watching reviews for standup bags and it’s surprisingly rare to find Ringside reviews. Im planning to train at home Muay Thai, but on the fence between century vs Ringside. Is this good for combos with kicks? Also, is there any way to tighten the spring to make it a little more firm?

I can't find one of these Ringside bags anywhere in the UK sadly, they're probably like £400 at least anyway.

The ringside looks good. However I can see that spring mechanism/device (Which brings it back after being smacked) breaking over time.

If you want a sturdy free standing bag get the Wavemaster XXL. Fully filled with water, the bag will take high rate of abuse of heavy punches and kicks. If you prefer a "sparring partner like" bag, get BOB XL. I have trained on both and they are very highly recommended. I do prefer the BOB XL, just because I have plenty of access to regular heavy bags and BOB just feels different, like I am sparring someone. It gives you way better angle and preparation to a regular sparring.

Maybe a silly question but... why didn't you fill the Century with water (or gravel, much heavier) before kicking it over? The base is supposed to be filled completely for it to function.

Is the ringside bag a heavy bag? I want to use it for boxing

I've had an XXL in my garage for 7 years filled with sand. Anyone using proper technique can kick these without knocking them over if the base is filled with sand. If you have a problem with knocking it over, then you are pushing, not kicking. The only time I have kicked mine over is when seeing if I could...and, sure, if I use crap technique and push through my high roundhouse or side kick in an attempt to knock it over, then I can. However, during actual rounds on the bag, I have never knocked it over because I'm actually punching and kicking...not doing overextended pushing kicks to see if I can knock it over. It will hop/slide around a bit during a workout but knocking it over is something that you would only do purposefully to stroke your ego.

You can tell the Century 2XL Pro only has a partially water-filled base. Not a fair review of both products. I do agree on the VS1 review though.

The Century Fight Bag was REALLY useful for hitting it and then hitting it again on the bounce up so it was constantly flopping into your punch. A GREAT cardio workout... but then the base got stretched out and it now flops and droops like a 270 dollar noodle... really regret my purchase.

What about moving if you don't fill the Ringside 100%?

Why is this the only review on the ring side elite lol .... would u say this would last a while for my personal use? I’m about 6 feet 230 lbs and when u punch it hard enough do u feel the metal rod in the middle?

I just a century xl pro.If u put sand to it won't move as much and you won't be able to push it.

Did you guys fill that Century Wavemaster with water or sand? It seems like most reviewers complain about the bag getting knocked over / moving around but they all fill it with water (which is still over 200 lbs but why not try sand from the get-go?). P.S. Is that the "2XL Pro"? When I typed XXL Wavemaster into Amazon it has this ugly/childish looking red XXL logo on it that doesn't look as classy as the basic all black one with "Century" on it.

The video failed to show how and why the bag was difficult to move. The weight and height wasn't given on any of the bags, neither was the cost. This was not a review. This was a demonstration.

Just get a rope or bungiee cord and tie it to to the top then to the roof it won't flop over then yeah it's not the best but if you dont have the money its a good alternative to have a few hundred

That Wavemaster is not filled with sand. It literally tells you to fill it with sand- then it doesn't move.

You need to put sand or water inside. Of course if empty easy to knock off
