The sound of a fan at night is the sound of my childhood....but I’m an Aussie. Feeling for you guys with that wretched heat 🥵

I hope they are feeling for us now. Although it's been mild with max temps around 38°C, down to 25-27°C overnight. Cheers, Michael 🇦🇺

Really wish I'd seen this before I bought the fan I bought. This looks totally ideal. I think I'll invest. I'll go through your link if there is one...

The remote for my fan is not working as well as did while new. Do you know how to charge or does it gave batteries?

Thinking about getting one in a few months from now, when it is cold and wet everywhere, and sales normally drops for cooling fans. Then I might find a really good deal, and have it ready for next year

I wonder if you could do a video covering stand-alone heaters. Given the prospect of a very cold winter burning fivers to stay alive, huddled next to a radiator that doesn't seem to radiate, I'm considering switching off two out of four active night storage heaters, in favour of something I can place right next to me. Public service calls, old chap. Thanks for your consideration.

Thankyou Jake. Immaculate timing. Just sat down to acquire another domestic fan. Checked my KZfaq subscriptions and there you were with a recommendation. Ordered one straight away. Cheers.

Nice fan , might pick one up as it's that quiet. You should be using your fan to blow hot air out of the house .. ie facing the other way than it is now. Just dragging hot air in the way you have it. Try it and see how quickly your room will cool off compared to how you have it now.

I forgot to watch the video about the Aldi coffee! This is awful, it's like being on the bus and remembering the oven is on at home. I will watch it immediately to prove how big a fan I am. Oh the yuks... I'm such a joker!

I'm kind of jealous that you can leave your door open for increased air flow. If I did that, I'd have a bear or a racoon in my house posthaste. It's been a brutal summer all over the world for heat. Recently, I conversed with a person from Ireland and he said that they don't have a lot of air conditioners in that country. He looked and looked to mitigate the heat (he has health problems) but couldn't find one near his home. While here in The States, they even sell air conditioners in pharmacies. Stay cool, Dr Jake.

*well you could still have your door open as long as you put out signs and detailed reasons explaining to the resident wildlife that wonder by that they are not advised to enter your dwelling or domicile as it is unsafe for them even if it is full of interesting smells of potential food and looks like a very nice and roomy den for them to sleep or shelter in...but they are otherwise welcomed to frolic about within sight of your property...*

@@scottmantooth8785 I tried that. I put signs out in many, many languages. They just don't care. But seriously, the bears are getting in to my garage and they have already destroyed one of the windows. I stopped repairing it after the third time.

@@artkincell *would a really strong electric fence barrier help? i know you can get them for cattle and i've seen programs where campers use them in Alaska for their campsites*

@@scottmantooth8785 That would be really cool, but the deer come up to the house too and I like seeing them, even thought they eat my garden veggies. This morning while I was watching this very video, I heard something right outside my office window. It was dark, but when it got lighter I discovered a deer was eating one of the morphed "cucumbers." The word in in quotes because we've had little rain in the northeastern part of the US and the cucumbers morphed in to what looks like summer quash. It's yellow and shaped the same. It's so weird.

@@artkincell *at the moment the only wild life encounters we have here are wild birds an occasional red tailed hawk that flies around making commentary on what it sees, several diabetic squirrels (that waddle more than they scamper) and our time share cat that shows up every few days to sleep for a few hours at the bench outside the backyard shop...we do see wild turkeys further out and i know we have deer that live on the near by ridge...of course we also have raccoons, possums and the ever fragrant skunks that pass through the neighborhood every so often...haven't seen any bunnies lately but then the backyard is pretty high so they could be there only hiding as bunnies prefer to do...no reptiles or amphibians in ages even though their is a wet weather spring somewhat near the backyard...big fan of critters here*
