The nut you keep on tightening has nothing to do with sealing when in use. It is intended to: 1) screw on a flexible membrane, to give you a sealed cap(in case you decide to store it or transport it for recycle); or... 2) unscrew and help disconnect the sealed hose from container at the end of the job(instead of pulling/damaging the connections)

Yes, great comment. I just read the instruction manual and no where did I see that info you listed above, but you are correct. The main suction hose end-piece is installed by just forcing it in the top of the tank and then when finished you unscrew the screw-cap to help lift-off the main suction hose plug end-piece to avoid rocking it back and forth and damaging it.

As for your #2, I agree, but would add that the nut should be screwed all the way down before inserting the hose fitting to allow the deepest fit for the fitting/sealing.

The fact you can put the hose back into it after using it is worth buying it alone. I have two fluid vacuums and those create an absolute mess just from residual oil.

I wish that it had quarts marked out on the side. I had one of these from a different company that I got about 20 years ago where each rib on the container marked a quart. Haven't seen that feature since. Damn that was a cool one, wish it never broke.

These tools are the best for power steering flush. You just suck out what you can get from the Reservoir then put that much back in. Then start up the car and turn the wheel all the way left then right 10 times. Rinse and repeat until the fluid coming out looks like new. Usually takes about 3-5 time. Yes you waste some fluid but it's better than the alternative on most cars. Just remember to put two layers of cardboard under the front wheels or you'll have bad rubber marks on your driveway from the left right part.

Get yourself two old cookie trays and place them under the front tires... the cookie trays will spin on the concrete when you turn the tires. greatly reduces the force needed to turn the wheels and prevents the tire marks and wear.

Do you push the hose all the way to the bottom? It can bend and reach like that?

That extractor is pretty darn nifty. I can see that saving so much time on multiple fluid changes. I didn’t see but how much fluid does it hold? Great video.

Anyone ever use these to extract gas out of a motorcycle gas tank? Will it ruin it?

Using this tool on a Honda outboard. Does removing the engine oil filler cap actually make it suck out faster?

How much psi did you use to extract the transmission fluid? And what size hose did you use to extract the fluid from that piping?
@WizzRacing

About 10 PSI...Once it gets going. It works just like the Manual setting...

How were you trying? Hose down the dipstick? I haven't done that yet but I have read you want to warm the engine up for about 5 min to thin out the oil.

Thanks for this, I just got the 9.5 litre one . Question, can you unscrew the top to clean it. I tried a little bit, but I was afraid I would break it
@737mechanic
@737mechanic 3 жыл бұрын
I haven't actually tried yet. I was thinking about just pouring degreaser or something in it and sloshing it around and pouring it out.

YES, you can unscrew the top, it's two pieces, unscrew the top outer ring and then pull the pump assembly out and place in a bucket. Drain the reservoir, clean it out and reassemble. The factory says pouring fluid out from the intake hole runs the risk of the contents getting into the vacuum pump which will spray oil, fluid out when you pump again.....

How do you clean it out?? Also what PSIG was your compressor set at??
@737mechanic
@737mechanic 3 жыл бұрын
To clean it you could suck in some kerosine or similar solvent and I run 120PSI.
@WizzRacing
@WizzRacing 3 жыл бұрын
You clean it with hot soap and water. That or a mild engine de greaser. Gasoline type products will eat the seals up. Then it doesn't work...Seen someone ruin one before. Trying to remove gas from the tank..
