Starting in Besisahar, Nepal we take the trekking journey through small Nepalese villages, amazing vistas, overlooks, mountains, rivers, and eventually snow. Making it finally over Throng La Pass and ending in Muktinath, Nepal. The female backpacker gives her take on the entire journey, while providing valuable tips and how she would do something's differently. This trek took place in mid to late October.

When people say “the camera and equipment does not matter, it’s all about the story telling” … well, the visual quality *does* matter and makes a huge difference.

This brings back great memories!! Thanks for the great video work! My wife and I did this in our late 20's in 1991 (we're in late 50's now). Back then we had to walk 21 days to get around (no roads, electricity, shops, restaurants, toilets, showers!!!!). The toilets in the villages were HIGHLY dangerous: a hole in the ground with a few planks across. There wasn't a lot to stop you falling in - and that could be the end of you! We took 28 days to go around the Annapurna Circuit and up into the Anapurna Sanctuary and back to Pokarah.

I walked the Annapurna Circuit in early December 1989. I remember unsealed roads, intermittent electricity, homely restaurants and pit toilets. A "hot shower" was a large basin of steaming hot water and a private room to wash yourself in. "Restaurant" sometimes meant sitting at the family table and eating from their meal of dahl bat. The walking was exhilarating, exhausting, humbling, truly a growth experience. I loved it so much I went back again in 1991 and trekked the sanctuary.

Hello from Oregon -- Thanks for the lovely video of your trek around the Annapurna range; your excellent camera work, soothing narration and gentle background music was delightful. 46 years ago in the Fall of 1977, I had recently completed a 2 1/2 year Peace Corps assignment in a Gurung village about 7 hours NW of Pokhara and had the opportunity to make this trek as Manang had just opened to outside visitors. There was no tourist infrastructure in that era, and I stayed with random local families each night during the 26-day trek around the mountains. It is nice to see that the Manang Valley has developed in a responsible way with healthy forests and prosperity for local people. Thanks again for bringing to mind memories of an adventurous and really fun time in my life. Best wishes and safe travels.

Stunning visual! Did the ABC trek and it was amazing too. At times it felt like we were in the Swiss Alps, Mongolia grasslands, China bamboo forests and Bali terraced rice fields cos the scenery was ever changing. The ABC night sky full of twinkling stars over the snowy mountains was just gorgeous. And the lovely rivers, streams, waterfalls, incredible sunrise at Poon Hill, great food and friendly locals! Nepal is a beautiful country!

Awesome video and probably the luckiest trekkers when it comes to weather. Crystal clear throughout. My god some of those shots were just breath taking and I was about to say, few more secs of that town please. and I kept doing that for every small town you showed. And later realized all town are different(some in the valley, some at hills) yet all gorgeous. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful video. I'm surely coming back to watch it again.

@@travelingbutler Guys, may I have one question, please. My daugher studies movie making univesity and we discuss the colors and the contrast of your movie on You tube. From KZfaq it looks the film is like burnt, too much contrast.. My Daughter thinks you probably did not use calibrated monitor, when making it, so you saw it different and I think, this was done by uploading it to KZfaq, because you write it's 4k quality. And I personally doubt, you did it when cutting it and making the movie. Which version is the right one? Thanks a lot.
@travelingbutler
@travelingbutler 5 ай бұрын
@@Fenda68 Hi! Because we shot this over 8 days(from the morning until late afternoon) the lighting was constantly changing. Then starting in the hot lush fields then going all the way up through snowy Throng Pass, the colors of the mountains and scenery was also constantly changing. Because of this, consistency from one shot to the next was very difficult to achieve. So instead of spending hours and hours color grading the entire video, I went with a different approach to just have all clips be over contrast, and saturated. This was the first video that MANY people started watching on my channel(which I did not expect) so the quality checks that I usually do on my shorter cinematic videos were passed on because I wasn't expecting many views and the amount of time required at the time I didn't believe would have been worth it. Thanks for the question!

Nice video narration 😊. I did this trail in April during spring. I learned a valuable tip for those wanting to go to this trek. From Besisahar hire a Yak (jeep) and ride up to Upper Pisang for 2-3 days to acclimatise. After that, continue the journey by foot. The views will be 3000 meters and higher from there. I'm from Asia, and I'll definitely return to Nepal again for another hiking adventure. I've subscribed to this channel.

You should note that Besisahar to Muktinath does not circle the Annapurnas and covers about half of the true Circuit. Good videography but saturation slider has been pushed too far, looks unnatural.

Stunning videography, lovely narration! Two questions: 1) What equipment did you use to get those beautiful shots? Dedicated videocamera, or video-camera combo? 2) How much did you roughly spend per day while trekking? Reading different blogs and stories around the interwebs, I understood there most definitely is a range in what people spend daily.

Check the description on the video equipment. I think we brought around $30 USD per person per day but had extra just in case it took longer(or trekked longer). We didn’t spend nearly that much most of the time(maybe $20 USD per person per day)

Two first questions are in the description of the video. I did the filming of my partner(Sam) who also did the voiceover audio.

@travelingbutler Beautiful video! Could you tell me please if there is a traffic noise that has been mentioned by people on different sites as you walk along the trek? You do mention it a bit. Was it something that was a problem all the time? On your video, it looks serene.

parts of the trek was a trail that cars/jeeps/motorcycles would use. So yes, you heard some traffic or saw people driving by. Only problem we noticed was the dust, since it was October, it isn't rainy so lots of dust would get kicked up into the air while we were trekking.

Heyy, the video is really so unbelievably fantastic. Wow. Simply impressive! I have a question for you. I really want to go to Nepal next year from January to March and would love to do a bigger tour in March. Preferably this one. My question to you is, in which month did you do this trekking tour❤

What a beautiful video. I am planning to do this trek this year in between October and November. So, i want to know that if this trek is possible doing solo without a guide or a porter. Also if you can just give a round figure on how much you spend per person on this trek. Thank you so much.
@travelingbutler

We went at the end of October. We went solo but I believe the Nepal government has changed the rules so you have to have a porter/guide now. I don’t have a record of how much we spent, but I think we took out $650 USD equivalent for the 8 days and still had extra when we finished. Again, I can’t remember exactly how much we had before starting and you may want to go slower or faster(or longer or on secondary trails).

Beautiful video, thank you! You said that there are three checkpoints. According to the new Nepali Tourism Board rules, you need an ACAP permit and a TIMS card. The TIMS can only be obtained if you have a licensed guide , it is not for indie trekkers. Did at checkpoints ask you for TIMS card or you have no problems to trek with ACAP permit only?

We trekked in October of 2022. New rules for requiring a guide was made in April 2023. Each checkpoint looked at both if I can remember correctly

We used the Geopress water bottle for water filtering. The filter should last over 100 water fills. We still have not needed to replace it yet
