Unboxing and review of the 2020 Orca Openwater core wetsuit. Designed for swimming, racing etc.
Made of Yamamoto 2mm neoprene, with 2.5mm on the main core body panels.
Super lightweight, flexible, feels like wearing nothing.

I admire you, buddy. Went for a swim off my Suffolk coast 2 weeks ago in the same wetsuit only a shorty one. And it was not a pleasant experience at all. Sticking with swimming pool till next June lol

Hi I’m 1,90 cm ,6.3, 87 kilo and 108 cm breast … do you think an 8 will be good or too tight?

Hi Tom, thanks for the review, would you recommend for a first time open water swimmer? I've moved to the coast in Norfolk and would like to try open water. Cheers

I’m no expert - but this would be a good choice. You may want to look at a slightly thicker model so you can swim for more of the year. This one is very thin and doesn’t offer much warmth. Great for summer fun though. Generally, Orca suits seem good quality of the price

Y a t il beaucoup de différences entre la Orca S7 et la Orca open water ?
@CanInelli

How would you compare this to the Orca S7 Wetsuit? According to my research the S7 is a bit thicker and keeps warmer but I don't know if it lacks the flexibility of the Openwater Core? Have you tried the S7 as well? I'll be swimming in the Aegean Sea throughout the winter, mostly in Cesme, Izmir, Turkey.

Sorry, I’ve not tried an S7. A more helpful review would include that kind of info. I used to have an S3 some years ago. It was similar. Maybe slightly thicker but not much.

hi Tom, enjoying the videos! I do a bit of freediving/snorkelling up here in the aberdeen area. Have you ever been up this way? i am slowly making my way from beach to beach trying different spots but visibility is awful sometimes. Tried Pennan at the weekend but its a nightmare trying to get past the waves and rocks. If its nice this weekend i was planning to take trip down towards st andrews as the water looks much clearer in your vids and on google earth! Can you recommend any good spots? cheers

Nice one - St. Andrews is good all around the town. I usually get in at East Sands and swim along the rocks at the right hand side, below the caravans on the cliff. Lots of lobster holes and kelp beds. Otherwise continue along the coast to Kingsbarns - park at Cambo Sands and you can dive anywhere. Both spots are still east coast so diving conditions are rare like everywhere else!

Hey Tom, do you reckon this suit is good for using at sea on a sup?
@tjashton
@tjashton 2 жыл бұрын
Totally depends on the weather. In summer, here in Scotland, I use it for sup and kayak. In colder months I use a thicker suit. In winter it’s a drysuit.

How many metres did you swim? or how many minutes did you stay in the sea with this wetsuit?
@tjashton

On the occasion in the video - nothing. I just swam a little to feel how it is. However since then I did an hour of casual playing in the sea - not hard swimming. It was fine.
