@@JankoLind The penetration of the Targa in Canada is historically about 10%. From January to June there were 247 911’s sold in Canada. If the 10% penetration of the Targa holds, there have been about 25 Targa sold, including my Targa 4S. Ordered the car April 24th 2021. Took delivery on June 30th. I configured the car to ‘match’ my 987 RS 60.

@@JankoLind The weight is only 30 lbs more than the convertible. And weight is relative isn’t it as is the model itself? If weight is the comparative then the 718 is always better than a 911. Then every version of the 911 should be downgraded as they are heavier then the cup cars. All there models are aimed at some function. No one is taking a Targa or the convertible out to compete in a sanctioned track race but then no one is taking the wife and two children for a ride along the ocean and to lunch on Pacific Coast hwy in California in a GT3 RS. S as NSX on a warm summer night heading across the Arizona desert in my TArga was a religious experience - as much as zooming around a track at 2 seconds faster than the other drivers. Sure the Targa has a small amount of extra weight around 2% more than the coupe- but then some fellows - like our host- will personally order the manual transmission making their car absolutely slower than a pdk yet that is the “wise” decision but desiring the look and experience of open too car driving should be avoided because of 100 pounds making the corner in the hands of a pro driver on a track ( where owners of Targa’s rarely go) is a huge negative issue. How about the all important girl pleasing and attracting ability? Targa or coupe? “Hi gorgeous Lakers cheer leader - want to go for a ride in my porsche hardtop or ( as the targa does its dance for 19 seconds) or this other guys car which tips it’s top to you? The coupe corners tens of second faster because it’s weight is higher by 100 pounds you must be warned”. Purpose and design to purpose matters. A GT3 is lighter than a Turbo - so what? One is for cornering on a track and the latter is to win the hp game against your friends Porsche. Sort of like measuring make appendages this hp competition. When it comes to the ladies the Targa is the clear winner in terms of chick attracting ability hands down. Gals are not attracted to wings as much as the Targa look and open top. I used the Targa 911T that I borrowed from my Dad when I was in high school and then college for accomplishments much preferred over cornering. If your sport is Scoring with the females of the species - the Targa is designed to achieve record times to climax as much as the GT2 RS has the speed record around the Nurburgring. The Targa as a cruising tool over mountain roads and down freeways with your wife or super model is the tool of choice. I was at a 300 car rally at an exotic car dealership yesterday. There were 15 GT 911’s and only one Targa- mine and a lot of other cool sports cars - but when my Targa went into its top exotic dance 💃 it might as well have been a super model removing her top. The crowd swelled toward the Targa and asked to see the top dance over and over. If Mr. Lind’s only criteria was performance at all costs he would not keep ordering cars with your manual transmission which is equivalent to asking the factory to add 150 to 200 pounds of weight to the car. Buy a 2021 engineering marvel and ask for a 1940’s transmission? Might as well ask for a cassette deck player and an electric deploying antenna as well.

I must agree with you, the Targa should be all about luxury and yes paldao wood.

Good point, Michael. I agree with the design, it looks better with a body-color roof. This thought goes for the carbon roof in addition. Apart from more light, not sure if there is any difference. Hi Ed, The Targa does only exist as a 4wd car. The windows do works as I've talked about in my previous videos. I think it is good that the 992 Turbo is quieter, it is in the Turbo DNA to be more comfortable.

Hi Francois, first of all, a GT3 IS NOT a daily driver regardless of it is a Touring or not. If you would like to drive fast and use your 911 as a daily, then the 992 Carrera S is amazing. The chance is that the car is actually faster than you are. Not sure whom the new GT3 is for, Damon Hill perhaps. If you are not already, please consider subscribing.
