I re-watched this movie on the 1st of this year, as I also had this movie on VHS as a kid. My thoughts on it DEFINITELY have changed since then. It's one of those childhood movies where I look back and think to myself "the hell was I thinking on liking this"? On the bright side, it's fun to rip on as an adult. Also, you earned a sub. ;)

Well Reindeer & Caribou are the same species, but yeah, I keep seeing companies confusing White Tail and Fallow Deer as "Reindeer", the original 1939 book is also guilty of making Rudolph a White Tail and that was 3 years before Bambi was released in theaters.

I was thinking of drawing Rudolph as a realistic reindeer, and these blew me away!! Congrats! -also the coment you show at 17:59... thank you for that. I wish we got to see this version of the movie, or I could read more about it, but just knowing these details makes it so much better!! -I agree with you that a new movie could be made, and the romance is unnecesary... but did you know, that in some version of the story rudolph is supposed to have a loving little siter? that could be an interesting character!

Am I the only one who felt that Stormella was supposed to rhyme when when announcing her storm threat, like "I am talking hail, I am talking SLEET, I am talking chills that will make beg for the summers HEAT?

I'd like to see a Rudolph movie that's a bit more serious, like it has a bit more action and him using his nose in multiple ways than one

If you remade Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, would you also have him be a girl and make it a girl power movie? Because it's like you said, female reindeer grow antlers in the winter.

I wish there was a good Rudolph film. I only recently watched the 1964 version from Rankin/Bass for the first time and i honestly found it ok at best.

Also, the fact that you've seen this movie in Spanish first is really relatable. I saw this movie on VHS in French. Oh yeah, and you earn the sub! :)

After watching Your Duology Video Review of this Movie, yeah, I feel like that some of the Stuff in this Movie defiantly hasn't aged well compare to Rankin Bass' version (I never really did liked Jerk Santa to begin with), I feel like that this version does have a lot more of its Problems of what could've had been better but despite what people say of calling the Rankin Bass version "Mean-Spirited" (when it was actually behind the Whole Point of the Moral within the Original Story), I wouldn't dare to call Goodtimes' version "Problematic". I mean, in the End, No Adaptation is Perfect as both R/B & Goodtimes are incredibly flawed despite the fact that I always did had some massive nostalgia few to both of them (since I do happened to be one of those People who has seen both Adaptations in Childhood). Also, I feel like what you said about Zoey's Character (despite the fact that I do love her like Clarice), I never really realized on how Messed up the Love Triangle was between Her with Rudolph and Arrow was until now. Yeah, Arrow might've been an Absolute Jerk to his own Cousin but just because that your Ex-Lover was a Jerk, doesn't mean that you should cheat on them behind their Backs. I mean, Zoey could've easily break up with Arrow in the first place instead of still being in a Relationship while also trying to cheat on her Boyfriend's Back with his Cousin. I mean, that's a Whole New Level of "Messed Up". Heck, even Other Animal Love Interests like Jenna, Marina, or Faline were never really in a Relationship with the Main Character's Love Rival from the start. I feel as if though that Goodtimes might've got the mixture of Love Triangles wrong though (then again, most of their Adaptations are only famous known as being Disney "Mockbusters" despite some of their writing behind their Adaptations are Poorly-Written). Again, I Don't Hate Zoey (despite that she has more Screen-Time than Clarice like everyone else says & is absolutely nostalgia-fuel for Me) but I feel like that Zoey has more Character Flaws than Clarice does. I'll admit, despite that sometimes that when Romance can be written-poorly in Some Media, even to this Day (ex; Starco or Adrienette (Show's Version)), I feel like that Rudolph and Zoey's Love is more tamer. It's just that I personally think that the Love Triangle idea between Them and Arrow didn't felt like it could personally be there (or maybe just have No Love Triangle Sub-Plot at all). Granted, I do like some Love Triangles in General (only if they're Well-Written), but I will have to admit though that despite Zoey's flaws, at least she's a little better than Stolas (I know that Stolas isn't exactly a Well-Written Character either but at least Zoey didn't Play-Victim nor to do any Harmful Things towards Rudolph). Like I said, I feel like that the Romance behind Rudolph/Zoey (despite it being poorly-written like you said) is more Tamer just like Rudolph/Clarice whereas Stolas & Blitzo's isn't. *TL;DR;* I honestly love both versions but yeah, I feel like that Goodtimes' version had the more Flaws than the Rankin Bass version. I've done my own version of this Story and my version of the Romance Subplot is way more different compare to both versions.

I don´t agree an mutch you said 😆 I think this movie is so wonderfull to watch :) the animation error an the sky and others, I would never seen them before I watch your review! The love story is so cute and good I melt when I watch it. The design of the reindeer, I have no problem with that , they look amazing 😁 mutch eaysier with female having no antler and male having, more contrast /diffrens :) the songs are really good! santas toyfactory are amazing and rudoph the red nose reindeer 😊😊

Although I don’t mind the 98 version, I do have some issues with the movie. The songs are forgettable. The animation isn’t that great. Some of the characters aren’t really that interesting. The fairies in the movie are useless. The romance is bad considering the fact Zoey was dating Arrow while she was flirting with Rudolph. Overall I think the movie is not that bad, but it’s just the movie needed some work.

Yeah, random observation that I only know because my dad was a classic comedy fan and raised me on it. Bob Newheart has always had a stuttery delivery style. Now, this is more of an affectation but it's very noticeable, especially in unscripted or lightly scripted material, but it's something they would ask for to sell the character. If you watched later guest roles like on NCIS or The Big Bang Theory, the stammer got audibly worse, so it's very real. Also, Zoey might be taking a lot of flak. I know guys like Arrow. I have shitty barrio cousins like Arrow. In the right or no, getting away from him is the right thing to do. He has a very clear bully personality and rage issues. Actually, he more reminds me of my sister's ex-husband, who kept beer around their baby and once punched a dent into drywall. No one is the good guy here but Arrow is going to steal silverware and clothes from Rudolph's parents (based on a true story.)

I was told Reigndeer or however you spell it were not real as a kid... hence why they looked like regular deer. Yay more childhood lies!!!

And I remember talking to my crush. Granted this was before she became my crush but I still talked to her. And I hate romance I have written stories and they never have romance mostly because I can't write it and they never work with me. Even action movies have it. They suck and there needs to be cut down. That's why I love John wick 1 to 3.
