Sony's first triple-lens camera system featuring Eye AF eye-tracking technology seen in the company's Alpha line of professional-grade cameras. The Xperia 1 is capable of capturing 4K HDR video, and the two sensors (primary and telephoto) are optically stabilized, a first for an Xperia device, dubbed Optical Steady Shot. It has an Intelligent Active Mode where it which alongside the standard electronic Steady Shot (5-axis EIS + OIS) for better video stabilization. Exclusive for the Xperia 1 is the BIONZ X for mobile image-processing engine, borrowed from Sony's Alpha professional cameras. This brings pro camera Alpha technologies to the Xperia line for a more professional approach to mobile photography.
The front selfie camera has a 1/4" 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 lens and Steady Shot with Intelligent Active Mode (5-axis stabilization).
The Xperia 1 also has Predictive Capture. When it detects fast-paced movement, the camera automatically captures a maximum of four photos before the shutter button is pressed, and lets the user select the best one afterwards. This is done without any user intervention and is possible due to the same built-in DRAM chip on the image sensor used in capturing the 960 fps super slow-motion videos.
It also has microSD card expansion of up to 512 GB in a hybrid SIM 2 slot setup.
LDAC, an audio coding technology developed in-house by Sony which is now a part of the Android Open Source Project, that enables the transmission of 24-bit/96 kHz High-Resolution (Hi-Res) audio content over Bluetooth at up to 990 kbit/s, three times faster than conventional audio streaming codecs, to compatible audio devices.
Other connectivity options include Bluetooth 5 with aptX HD and Low Energy, NFC, 4x4 MIMO antennas for fast Wi-Fi and cellular upload/download speeds, dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, GPS (with A-GPS), GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo satellite positioning.

The 5 V can be considered a small phone as it's about the same size as the ZenFone 10 About the 1, it really became attractive with the Mk II. The III and IV weren't bad but some things weren't as good as the II in my opinion. The V is the best though. 2023 in general is a great year for smartphone releases

Sony removed the headphone jack on there older phones and brought back the headphone jack on there newer phones. Sony even put a higher capacity battery on there newer phones where as there older phones have smaller capacity batteries, sony moved the power button and volume buttons and made them easier to access. Sony is the only android manufacturer that makes and sells bluetooth headphones and earbuds was well as wired headphones and earbuds while still having a headphone jack on there newer phones. Sony even acquired one of the audiophile brands audeze. Sony is the only android manufacturer that made the bluetooth codec ldac compatible will all brands of android manufacturers and worked with google to implement ldac into android beginning with android 8.0. The ldac bluetooth codec works with all the manufacturers, even anker has the ldac bluetooth codec. With quality apt-x bluetooth codec, you need a qualcomm processor and qualcomm compatible devices. Qualcomm apt-x bluetooth codec is not a compatible with non qualcomm devices. With sony bluetooth ldac, it's even compatible with qualcomm, mediatek and the tensor processors and not locked down only to qualcomm compatible devices. Sony makes there bluetooth codec ldac cross platform among all android brands and devices. With samsung and google, they are focused on locking there customers down to there own ecosystem like apple on android. Sony ldac works the same way with all android manufacturers and all function the same way and you don't have to buy a sony device to enjoy ldac. Sony ldac allows all brands to work with each other no matter what manufacturer the customers are using. I missed the days when all the android manufacturers would listen to there customers negative feedback and provide what the customers want and it used to be about having options and choices with android and the manufacturers for android. All the manufacturers have become greedy and turned there back on there own customers and want to follow apple in order to make a quick buck. All the manufacturers have become a hypocrite, they make fun of what apple is doing and than they end up doing what apple is doing in order to make a profit like apple. Apple already has gained trust from there customers and they get brand loyalty in return. Sony even fixed the overheating issues from the sony xperia 1 iv on the sony xperia 1 v.
