Erik I just ordered mine today. Last one in the country. Think this is going to be a good ride. I just bought the 12X28 taKhine. Blue wave 4.75 but it seemed like it hits a max speed and I want to go faster

It’s a really nice looking board. My SUP bag has got wheels as well but not sure if it will fold down enough to put on the bungee. Maybe something I should try. Not tried a board less than 30” wide, something to test 😊

The wheels make the board bag bigger and not so foldable. I haven't tried to take it on the board. Could be fun to test a board that is narrow, at least an experience! 🤗

Great video. Have you had the chance to test this board in the sea or rough conditions? I'm thinking of buying the same model but will use it for some coastal touring in addition to rivers and lakes.

Thanks! I have not tested any rough conditions with this board. I have done it with all star, this board is more stable than all star. I always recommend to try before you buy!

The 2024 range has become available to see on youtube , seems they have designed the new touring model to be able to roll up nice and compact now also similar to the zen roll with the different designed fin box

Yes 2024 looks really good, new fin box reduces drag. The board seems to roll the same size. If you want a compact board you need to look at zen roll.

Hi again, just wanted to chk so I don't say wrong, Starboard Inflatable Touring Range, the only new is the fin box that looks awesome. It might pack slightly smaller but not as small as the zen roll because fin box is smaller but still hard and long and is not flexible lie zen roll. In their Touring Ad Video for 2024 Starboard only show the new small zen roll bag. Also on their website they only show new small zen bag. If that bag is for the new touring board it's not as good as the touring bag have been before. Maybe more inte will come.

Hello, i love your footage!! Awesome surroundings to sup. Very different from supping here in the Netherlands 😉. I was wondering, what is your setup when you film in the sup? Are you standing in the selfiestick? Alain, your footage is great, keep up the good work!!

Thanks! 🙏😍I’ve seen a lot of nice paddles from Netherlands.🙌 I have a insta360 x3 and a 3m selfie stick, it’s correct, I stand on the end of the stick, hold it with my foot, have a plastic clamp that fix the angle.

@@stevenh3443 it´s not possible to post pictures here in comments. It´s the insta360 x3, insta360 3m selfie stick new version with yellow ring. I also took what I had at home an exprimentet, ended up with a plastic clamp, black with orange in the top. You just need something to you get a higher angle, sometimes I use my dry bag on the board for the it. I always have a leash on, you will drop in into water and loose your camera if you don´t have a good leash, nothing of this floats, it's heavy, might look easy, but to paddle and stand on the stick is not easy. I also have a gopro magnetic clip in the base end of the selfie stick, because I had that a home, I guess you can find something better if you buy everything from start, I have it so I can stand on it with my toes. Remember I warned you if you try this. This setup might be around 800-900 Euro, so very expensive if you loose it, so I don´t recommend to do like I do with the selfie stick.

Lima prepreg is my favorite. It might not be the fastest but my joints and wrist loves it. It’s also super light.😊

I like 12,6 x 28 little bit more and I think It’s not slower. I feel like this board is heavier in the water than 12,6 x 28

I agree than 12,6 are quite as fast as the 14 footers. With my 12,6 x28 Tikhine Wave I calculated all my average speeds at each cruise. The best was 4,50 knots (8,33 kph) on a 11km trip. With my hardboard Hypr LVR 12,6x27 I was not able to go faster 4,51 knots on the same trip and weather conditions The LVR stickes on the water and cannot accelerate.the lightweight of an i SUP surely helps with speed. Last monday with my Naish Maliko 14x26 the best speed I did on the 8.2 km return trip was 4,46 knots.When the monsoon will be over I might find the same conditions to make an accurate comparison. I really think the Tikhine with his girlie look is an incredible fast seaworthy board. In 10 months I paddled it on 1615 km in real ocean conditions only.

Simon. I am looking at getting either the 12.6 or the 14 footer. I like the fact that you said the 12.6 is just as fast as the 14. I would like to know which thick ness you have the 6 or 4.75. I think based on packing weight the 12.6 would be better. I weigh 165 lbs. and athletic build. What’s your thoughts. ??
