I have the 4 door si, the car is 2,900 lbs. it’s not a heavy car. The steering dynamics clutch and shifts are amazing. It’s an economy car, comparing it to a type R is not doing this car justice. The type R is a completely different animal. The power is dam fast stock. It doesn’t need to be tuned, let the car break in the exhaust noise is really nice and the limited slip differential is great for messing around at low speed. That’s what this car is about. It’s an economy car with some sport dynamics. Not a track car.

Great review Matt!! I currently own a 2017 Civic Si Sedan! I like it a lot!! I have owned an 09’ , 12’ , 14’ Civic Si’s all sedans and they each had their own character!!! I liked each one in different ways!! I do feel like the 17 had been my favorite Si so far!! It feels quite a bit more refined than my previous ones!! I do miss the higher revving motors though! I am now saving up for a Type R!! Keep up the great work Matt you have been one of my favorite channels for a long time!! God bless ya my friend!!

I just traded it my 17 hatchback CVT for the 19 Si I just installed the ktuner with drop in k&n filter. That car has so much torque after 3k RPMs it pulls so good no need to downshift like the old skool VTEC motors. I have owed nothing but Honda my whole life and this is the only car that I did not worry about how high the red line is. From the factory it's pretty hideous the Rev hang & how long it takes to reboost when you switch gears so ktuner is a must if you're an enthusiast

Tractor trailers have had turbos on them for 40 years. They run hundred of thousands of miles without repair. It’s a housing with an impeller in it with way less parts than an auto transmission. I have a old Passat with 250 k and turbo has been boosted up for 175 k of those miles. False truths as always in these comments.

IF you like the way the 1.5T Accord Sport 6MT drives, check the 2.0L Civic 6MT (2019 Sport), I think you might like it as much. It won't have the Turbo push, but if revs out nicely. With my 2017 2.0L 6MT Civic, it's easy for me to get the jump on cars off the light (easy to modulate). In this one occasion, I didn't get the jump, against 1.5T Accord Sport. For only first gear pull, our side view mirrors were dead even until I hit the redline and had to back off, cause my lane was ending. Regarding weight against Si vs Accord Sport. Accord is only 233lbs heavier the Si!! Given Accord longer wheelbase, it probably has a better weight distribution, which would explain the slightly more nimble feel.

Had those same Enkei wheels (17x9) on my 2013 WRX . Good bang for the buck.I also find the clutch on my 18 Accord 2.0 Sport grabs very high and took a couple spins to get used to. Hondas are a joy to row so it was fun practicing- lol. I like the panda (black/white) theme of this guys car. In my 2.0 Accord wheel spin is normal on anything but super flat pavement (quite annoying actually). The Accord Sport 2.0 Sport should come with (or offer) a stickier tire as the stock ones are meh and quite average.Nice review Matty-Midnight. Did this feel livelier than the 1.5 Accord ?? Oops realized you connected the dots at the end. Hey a little off topic but are we getting the Mercedes Benz A35 Hatchback ??

10th gen si is fun as heck...Quick car the the torque boost helps, you can steer that car on a dime..you will be smiling the whole way through a canyon run, the car is quiet through you will have to put and exhaust( muffler delete, or downpipe) for some good sound..you will not be disappointed , now with a little tune, just makes the car waaay more fun...it is not comparable to an old si, two different cars so you will have to drive this car with wanting a new driving experience..dont look for the old feeling when driving a 10th gen compared to earlier gens...take it for what it is..the type r is in a class of its own fast car steers super well but if you can't afford it the sport hatchback and si are great platforms if your modding, a tune by itself can get you to close to mid 200s hp and torque not including bolt ons...if the type r is superman, the si is superboy, (not the comic superboy, superbly from the recent dc cartoon series)cant fly, can't beat superman, doesn't has all his powers but he's still super

I've been in the market for one of these and was wondering what type of fuel you put in it. I know the owner's manual states that the car should receive premium, but can it take regular? Furthermore, I think the car has a knock sensor that changes the ignition timing caused by the difference in the fuel quality. Still, I would like to eliminate knocking altogether to preserve the engine.

I agree with you Matt, I test drove one of these and I ended up getting a 2015 Honda Civic Si coupe, the engine just felt alive and I felt connected to it. Elliot Silvia it’s pointless for auto manufacturers to claim cars have VVT showing it off, it’s like putting EFI on the side of cars now all cars have had it now for the past 20+ years lol. I was just stating to the guy on the original comments how wrong he was by saying it’s doesn’t have “VTEC” when in fact it has Variable Valve Timing which is the same just doesn’t have some fancy name, these new engines are far superior to the old Honda engines

I drive a Civic now and have always wanted an Si, and I completely agree with you. This one just doesn’t do it for me. I noticed the same weight distribution related issues you did, and I’m mainly disappointed in the rev hang. Gustavo Marin it varies by location but in my experience and reading forums online, it’s tough to get dealers to crack and sell it for near msrp. I’m in NorCal and pretty much all of em are at $8k-$13k. The ones that do manage to sell at a better price are gone almost instantly while dealers in the east coast have em a few hundred LESS than msrp and are sitting for weeks.

@@GETUPANDGO I prefer Rays wheels design over all (if I had to just pick one)... BUT Enkei still makes some really nice wheels. My wife stuck a set of 18" Enkei RS05RR in Matte Gunmetal on her Chevy Sonic RS... She had the car custom painted a Ford Mediterranean blue metallic (2011 Ford Edge SEL paint code HQ). With the dark wheels the thing looked killer.

@@mohamedalkaboom ... The offset on the factory wheels has them sitting well inside the fenders. To the point it looks pretty comical. That is the main issue with almost all of the newer factory wheels. To met certain requirements the wheels are not allowed to sit flush with the fender openings. The majority of people end up with offsets that allow their wheels to sit flush with the fender openings. OR at least the is the goal of most people who purchase aftermarket wheels. Some people like to "poke"... BUT thankfully that is not a very popular trend. SO a set of say Rays Volk TE37 18x8.5 +30 front 18x9.5 +40 rear, has the proper offset to allow the wheels to sit completely flush with little to no camber. SO no frog legged looking crap going on. That is the whole point of going aftermarket anyway... making the car look the way you want it to look... add a little personal touch... even if there are a million other vehicles running around with those wheels ;)

@Trevon Adams With every newer gen Si it gets suited for an older or wider audience to accommodate more sales. Which makes sense. It's great they are still around.
