Great review I was happy to see you reviewed this one. I have been debating on purchasing this loco, after this review I want one. Good to see the layout coming along, looking good!

It needs to be weathered. I love all of your videos and all of them have helped me think about what models to buy next. Keep on posting more and good videos.

Very nice unit. Can't wait to see the layout finished.
@silicon2123 жыл бұрын
The detail on this unit is exquisite. It even has the antihunt struts on the engineer side of the trucks ... that were only on these GP60s.

This is a very nice engine, Your comments on how well detailed it is and how well it operates are well taken, but also apply to the previous release. I like EMD GPs because they take 18 inch curves very well. Train world has the previous release DC UP and the Blue and Whte, EMD Demo for around $ 80 and i got both. Ii also got two different numbered Santa Fes recently on Ebay for a bit less than that with shipping. These older ones have the black plastic spacers screwed into the coupler mounts. i agree no way would i pay $ 199 for a new current release DC version. Great review . Looking forward to when you get the layout up so you can show us the items against a fully modeled background

I am new to railroading coming from the UK , not to railway modelling, you have a bewildering array of locos in the US can I ask when you do your reviews that you include some information re the history of the actual loco, when they were built, time frame of when they were used etc. Thanks for your great down to earth reviews. Neil

The GP60s were my favorite Intermodal units to run back when they were assigned to our hottest trains. If a locomotive could be associated with a car the GP60 is a Corvette!

Is it true most engineers loved the GP60 Standard Cab but most hated the GP60M?
@NS80109 жыл бұрын
I Didn't think much of them at first but now i'm really considering getting an NS one...
@Perfusionist019 жыл бұрын
Very nice review. You are really getting the process refined. I liked the camera work on the close cab run by. I wasn't at all interested in getting a UP GP60, but you have piqued my interest. I need another 4-axle unit for local power on my layout.

This model is correct for 2005-2013. Sometime between May 2013 and July 2014 this unit was renumbered to 1089 but retained the patch which it wears today.

Other than the AC unit, and the antenna, it doesn't look like Wathers has changed these GP60's from the Life-Like versions.

When you provide us with this some videos of layout? ;)

So what is up with the white ac units on the cab? I see them all the time. Aren't vapor and prime ac units aluminum when un painted?... Thank you for the review!

you can get the old version in DC in UP and SF for $50 at train world. Nice cheap high quality engine
@espinozajos9 жыл бұрын
Nice work by Walthers. The prototype has the EMD 645 turbo prime mover, the sound on this one sounds like the 710 especially when its idling, does it have the option to change the prime mover sound?
@espinozajos9 жыл бұрын
I didn't know that, thanks for clarifying Cleo
@wastedapathy229 жыл бұрын
GP60s and SD60s had 16-710G3A prime movers (16 cylinder), not the 12-cylinder version.

Molded on windshield wipers? Bummer.
@SuperWHIZZO9 жыл бұрын
I`m a limey so I didn`t realise the snow-plough was wrong , other than that the attention to detail is staggering , British diesels 00 gauge are only recently this getting near this standard ,with lazer profiling getting the desired results.
@ovationpdh9 жыл бұрын
Looks good, but has the wrong snowplow. You think they could get the correct SP style snowplow on this model. :(

not worth the 195 and that's regular dc.
@texasmodelrailroader35723 жыл бұрын
If your specifying in this video this model is NOT AT ALL DC. This is a dcc sound locomotive in the video. In my OPINION this is very much worth the 195 dollars for just the detail alone.
