You have no idea what you are talking about. I was a class 4 laser operator with a variance from the CDRH, and I can say with certainty that it is illegal to display this in a public place, and it comes with a $300,000 fine. I can also say that there is no way it is putting out a 20-watt beam. A 20-watt laser would burn through wood and light your wall on fire instantly.

@@ReviewsUnscripted @0:50 The open air is public, and you would have to notify the FAA. Technically inside your house is not illegal, but that laser is too big for a home. Looking at the spot it projects can cause retinal damage, and when you do get retinal damage (and you will) you will not notice until it is debilitating because your brain fills in blind spots. Don't believe me? Everyone has a blind spot where your nerves reach the back of your eye. It is about 2 inches in diameter at arm's length, and you can find it easily yourself. Closing your left eye, look at a spot in the distance, hold your arm, and wiggle your finger about 8 inches to the right of the spot. Move it around until you can't see your finger wiggling. That thing will give you blind spots, and you won't know until you are in a traffic accident because that kid, car, or whatever just seemed to come out of nowhere. Anything over 5/1000ths of a watt can burn your retina faster than you can blink. That's why laser light show manufacturers have to put an interlock key on a laser that is over 5 milliwatts and have a light that comes on 5 seconds before the beam is emitted so the operator can see the light, and go oops, and turn it off before they accidentally blind themselves or their audience. That thing has no key, so even if YOU register with the CDRH, that laser cannot be used in your show because it is hazardous and in violation of CFR 1040.10 Title 21, Subchapter J. They can't sell them in the US, so the manufacturers are overseas, and you are responsible for it because you are the importer. But of course, they don't tell you any of that when you buy them. They just lie about the power output and show you some video of the beams with techno music playing. Retinas do not grow back. I recommend getting rid of that thing before it does permanent damage to you or your family's vision.
