This is the new version of the ‪@ospreypacks‬ Seral 7 Waist or Hip Pack. I take a super in-depth look at the features, size, and use of the pack so you can make an informed decision if this is the right hiking or biking pack for you. I also compare the pack's pros and cons with other popular packs from ‪@dakine‬ and ‪@camelbak‬ .

I love this pack, but had the same issue with the magnet on the hose. Too easy to knock loose. My solution was to replace the magnet and clip with a camelback magnetic clip. The camelback magnetic clip is a positive latch that will only release when pulling up on the hose. It works perfect, the hose is now secure until I want it.

The magnet needs like a fidlock connection where magnets pull it together and to get it off you press a button

Dude, you had me laughing a little bit when you talked about folding up the bladder with water in it to take up less room. I rewound like three times. Water has one size, so you can’t fold it to make it smaller. Maybe you were making a different point, though. However, the fact is, if you had water in the bladder, you would not have gotten nearly as much other stuff in there. It doesn’t make it a bad bag, just everything is limited by physics. I do have one of these, and I dislike the bladder very much. First, the hose is not designed to be easily disconnected. It’s like wrestling a cobra to handle this thing. And yeah, the magnet is not nearly strong enough (same with my Syncro 5 pack). And the shape of the bladder, with the 2 stuck together bits (the circles) to keep it flatter, while a good idea, makes it really hard to dry out (by the way, it holds 1.5L because of those very bits that keep the bladder flatter - that’s why it holds less than the Dakine, though it looks bigger when empty and flattened out). I’m not sure why you said the Dakine had Velcro for holding the bladder in place - it clearly has a similar tab that you slip through the sealing piece 🤔. I’m not defending the Dakine, since it is pretty obviously not as nice as the Osprey overall -that was just kind of a confusing point. I’m with you though, the Velcro securing mechanisms are for the birds. I’ve ended up just using my Seral now that it’s cool enough out that I can just carry a water bottle and use the waist pack for tools and sustenance. Bladder maintenance is a PITA and I find it to be a literal drag to have it on when filled with water. Others dig hip packs, but Ima mostly stick to hydration packs, I think. PS: though I was a bit critical in here, thanks for going to the effort to make a review video on this product. I know there’s a lot of work involved!

😂 normally I pull out the bite valve first then thread the open end of the tube through the tunnels, put the bite valve back on, then snap the other end to the bladder. I'm using Evoc Pro. You can use a retractable badge reel attached to the straw and clip it onto the belt instead of using the magnets then you don't always have to locate the magnet to put straw back, the retractable cord is a homing device so just drink and spit it out after.

I wish the pack comes with an open pocket on the outside to carry 1 extra bottle in addition to the bladder. Mainly to mix my electrolytes drinks. I don't mix electrolytes in the bladder.

Its posible to use dakine bladder in this? I dont ride bicicles I just wanna use a hidration bag for everyday but I don't know if it can be used in any funny pack or just those special ones. Also, I need to put electrolit in it, not water. Do u thin it will damage the bag?

It won't damage the bag, and yes you can use other hydration bladders in the pack. they just don't fit as well.

I have put hydration drinks in mine before. They are a little harder to clean out.
