I truly think this is one of the most impactful and interesting videos I've seen in a long time! Thank you so much for taking the time to make sense of all of this and share it with the world :) I'm a high school junior right now who also has a background in research (starting in freshman year with primarily self-directed projects), and I can't tell you how informative--but even more inspiring--it was to hear about your application and story. Jerry, thank you so much for this super detailed review!!! It is ao helpful! May I ask you, how do they know that you took Algebra 1 honors in 6th grade? Normally, at least in the common app, one is allowed to list classes and activities only taken in high school. Where did you fi d a place on the application to mention the 6th grade math?

Hi there! So I believe that your transcript will show all high-school level classes that you've taken (at least in my school system), which means that since Algebra 1 Honors was a high-school level class, it would show up on my transcript. However, all of the other classes that I took in sixth grade would not have shown up because they were not high-school level classes.

Hi Jerry, this video was truly insightful. It really demystified and clarified the black box that is college admissions. I’m currently a rising senior. I’m also interested in generative language modeling and machine learning. I’ve done Andrew Ng’s deep learning specialization and got a certificate and Ive participated in a coding camp for AI and built a project. Because of my Grandma’s dementia, I also have an interest in cognitive science, which will be another component in my application.I know that there isn’t much time left, but can I do to boost my intellectual vitality between now and November? There’s only two months left

where did you go for your elementary and middle school? Do you think is there any big difference between public and private schools in our school district? My son will go to Oakton too. So proud to have you and hope you have a bright college life at Stanford.

Thanks for watching! I went to Hunters Woods and Rachel Carson - I'm not sure of any difference between public and private schools since I didn't attend private schools.

Hi Jerry, I'm a freshman at Oakton HS, I was wondering if you had any tips on maximizing my chances of getting into Stanford since it is my dream school. Furthermore, in your experience what teachers did you find gave you the best LOR's and could you share any tips on maximizing your weighted GPA at Oakton.

probably just like having some knowledge about or background in the work they do and making sure to utilize any connections to professors that you might have.

schools should be forced to release the stats of all of their admissions after admitting to their multi-decade bias scandal. frankly there's no reason human being should be determining who gets in anyways it should be up to an algorithm.
