I actually use the scooper a lot when feeding my chameleon! I'm really bad with tweezers and the spoon allows me to easily catch and drop three crickets in the feeding dish at a time. For me, it's a lot faster and easier way, but I do agree that it shouldn't really be curved.

What's interesting about the chameleon pump is that those aren't UK plugs so even though we have the correct voltage over here you would still need a plug adapter.

Jup, and to be save, especially with products from a source as Wish, you would need one of those plug adapters that have the protection to over powering the appliance which would still add 20 to 50 euros to the list. Because accidentally adding 110 volts to a 220 appliance just makes it work less or not at all, but adding 220 volts to a 110 appliance gets dangerous quickly! It will either melt the appliance, or straight up catch it on fire. Please be careful with this everyone.

Thinking the exact same thing, filters out the dross and the ones that are too small, and gets a decent portion size in one go rather than digging around and trying to get only worms or tweezing worms one at a time. You still have go get the adults and pupae out if you have a breeding setup rather than buy them but that's much easier

I usually see those plastic scoops used in occupational therapy and early childhood development for kids that need help with fine motor skills. The kids use them to pick up little colored balls or pom poms and sort them by color. Now I’m wondering if the OT scoops got repurposed for handling insects or if insect scoops got repurposed in to scoops to help with occupational therapy.

I really think you guys should look into manufacturing your own chameleon watering systems. If all it is is a pump and a nice design you guys could easily sell them. Just FYI, the step up/down "that guy" transformer does end up shortening the life of whatever you're using it on, just because of the stress. (We have things from Australia my husband brought over when we got married, because it was cheaper than replacing items, and while we've gotten years of use, we haven't gotten "full life of products" use out of the electronics. They do die early.)

If you struggle to catch insects with tweezers I could see a higher quality version of those food scoop scissor things being useful. I also think they'd work better than a spoon if someone else was taking care of your pet for a bit. If you draw a fill line on them then the exact amount to feed the animal is obvious, but if you just tell someone to feed "X amount of table spoons of food" theres a lot of variance between level tablespoons and heaped tablespoons where the animal could be over or under fed.

I'm going to start this off with I am by no means an expert but, based off of my knowledge of reptile care the fact that it is cheap plastic wouldn't make too much of a difference, so long as you clean and disinfect it before use with your reptile (which honestly you should do basically regardless) any water dish water feature thing should be okay to use. If there are potential problems with cheap plastic that I am unaware of please let me know because like I said I am by no measurement an expert on this

@@the_undead the problem with cheap plastic are plasticisers and other stuff contained, maybe the colours as well, which will be washed out by the water. You don’t know if these are safe for animals and they would drink this stuff every day so you could slowly poison your animal.

This is the first video I ever saw from this channel and it led me down a rabbit hole of me watching almost all of your videos multiple times. Your channel very quickly made me go from a lifelong phobia of snakes to being absolutely fascinated and being able to hold one for the first time. As a zoology student, this is a phobia that I've wanted to shake for years and I couldn't have done it without your channel. Thank you for the entertaining and educational content!

i feel like instead of using the scooper for food you could maybe use it for spot cleaning instead for smaller reptiles with loose substrate ! so even if it doesn’t work for food if for nothing else you could use it for that i think that’s a good idea especially for people who get grossed out when they have to clean up haha

That "turtle enclosure" looks worse than useless for its intended purpose. I see no reason to buy one for any reason, but so as not to waste it, I'm sure it could be repurposed into something useful. It might make a good hide for a big snake or lizard if it is turned over, a hole is cut into it, and it is covered with spray-on foam or something else to make it opaque. It could even be covered with stuff to make it look natural like many of the decorations in the zoo; somebody who is skilled at this could turn it into a nice looking hide. Other than that, if it had a lid, it could be used as a temporary enclosure or carrying case for smaller animals, but the lack of a lid makes it mostly useless for this purpose.

As someone that is actively researching to get a musk or mud turtle in the next year or two (depends on if I have everything sorted for it by early summer when it's safest to get them shipped), it makes me so angry how many '"PROFESSIONAL" sites sell those horrible set ups for turtles, those things have barely enough area to even be the size of a basking platform for most adult turtles. Kids don't know any better, and a lot of overwhelmed parents will just take the advice at pet stores. It's just terrible.

I've come VERY CLOSE to tossing my work laptop frisbee style out my window. Also, and anyone correct me if I am wrong, but I think you can have outlets changed to deal with higher voltage. @@michalena8695 first off that would probably actually be 240-volt but close enough. 2nd off North America does use 240 volts just in a really weird way that allows for 120 volts if you use one hot and one neutral wire in a circuit, however if you use two hot wires correctly then you'll get a 240 volt circuit, this is normally used for stuff like appliances or electric car chargers or other stuff that needs a lot of power.

If you are looking for chameleon drinkers, we used the decorative fountains they sell at Michael’s. We bought 4 different styles for about $20 each when they were on sale, and only had to return one because it was too splashy for the chameleons. The fountains were used with Vailed, Jackson, and Panther chameleons.
