Revisiting Ruby Shoes (Wizard of Oz Remix)

Here it is folks! My second track that was sampled from The Wizard of Oz! About a year ago I started making music. The first real video I uploaded on youtube that I was semi-proud of was called Ruby Shoes. I thought, after a year of progress behind my belt, it would be interesting if I tried making another track from the same source to see how far I've come as an artist. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as you did a year ago!

I find myself very entralled by your work. It's easy on the ears, and doesn't get repetitive. This is why I liked the genre, slow moving songs like Alice and this.

The type of music that is made of samples is usually called plunderphonics. Apart from the ones you mentioned here are some who have made music this way also x) : P.SUS, Smuffy, Julow, D!tto, liltommyj, BluJayMix, Dizcrybe and AshCMusic. Other people that made similar things had 'pogo tribute' in the title and didn't make any more songs or simply made music in other ways after. So there are so much stuff out there to find, its just so awesome to me x).

OMG, this is just brilliant. It even doesn't need the video to blow me away. Jeez dainumo, do you have any idea how gifted you are? You make such remarkable remixes one after the other, wow. And to think you're just starting... man, that's some magical journey you're starting. Keeping my eyes on you that's for sure.

I'm gonna join the bandwagon and admit I like this remix much better than "Mellow Brick Road". Although I may have heard Pogo's remix too many times now to enjoy it like I used to. Anyway, I'm not even a musician, but you've inspired me to imagine my own Oz remix. For starters: "A horse of a diff-" "Clip, clip, clip!" "Curses!" "Oh my!" then "If I" said by multiple characters, including from Aunt Em's "If I weren't a Christian woman...".

I agree with this being better than Mellow Brick Road, but my all time favorite Wizard Mix has to still be "Wizard of Meh" by Pogo. It's such a beautiful track that deserves a fluid extended version.

I enjoyed the microsamples (rather than "longer snippets of vocals" as another person put it). I use them in my music too. I feel it helps the sampling musician retain some individuality. Otherwise it can feel like "where does Judy Garland end and I begin?" or something like that. Anyways, great work. I enjoyed it. And since everyone is doing the Pogo comparison thing, I'll just say I think you have a better sense of melody than he does when it comes to arranging the small vocal samples.

I haven't heard the Ruby Shoes track yet, but after watching this one, I'm also compelled to look at the original. Either way, this was quite a catchy remix. Love it :)
