I played Max Payne, Need for Speed Most Wanted & Ratchet & Clank on PS2. You know, it says something about modern gaming where I am having more fun playing older games on older hardware.

So many great games on PS2. Gran Turismo 3 will always be my personal pick for the top spot. I was seriously addicted to that game.

Great video. I can completely see why these games are the top 10, but I think there are games that I subjectively think are better than some of them, and should be on the list. Some of my personal favourites include Burnout 3 Takedown, Spiderman 2, Secret Weapons Over Normandy and Bully.

Thanks to your channel man, I recently started collecting black labeled PS2/PS3 game's. But only the game's that I enjoyed, definitely gonna have to get Tony Hawk 3 and 4 now, I totally forgot about those until now.

Not sure if you have a backwards compatibility Wii but Resident Evil 4 on Wii with a Camecube controller is the best set up ease wise IMO.. Great Video man keep em coming!

Im not really into sports games but oh man , fifa street 1 and 2 on PS2 are gold. Apparently there's also NBA street or something but I haven't played it yet

Great video! 2001,was the start of the real next gen games for the PS2, and the year the console turned from a good DVD player, to a real next gen gaming system. With games like DMC, ICO , MGS 2, GTA 3 GT3 , Silent Hill 2 and Jak & Daxter, that year with is variety and quality was better than this whole generation now.

Love your videos i have 12x ps2s used cleaned all of them puted new thermal pads and some are modchiped with matrix infinity and i got 1x brand new ps2 slim unopened sealed . Got 3 memory cards . 2x with FCMB . i play using hdd / usb . I prefer through disc reads pretty good compare to external hdd . I might try original hdd adaptor heared its better no lags hick ups and etc .. I love ps2 its VERY Releable console it dont have to use thermal paste it only need 1mm thermal pad dont take lot of electric from wall no overheating issues no problems .. i got ps3 brand new slim too and 4x used xbox360 slim x2 brand new and x1 used . I just love these consoles i got a ps4 slim and xbox series & ps5 too . Still i still go back play ps3 & ps2 games are better then today games Keep up the great content love your videos ❤️

Dude I relate so much to the mgs2 main menu story 😂😂 I thought my game was broken so I returned it to GameStop and got a new copy, only then when I was just pressing all the buttons did I realize circle was the select button. I was befuddled to say the least.

For MGS2, circle was used as Japan's X button for the PS1 and PS2, so it was just something they missed changing in the US localization.

The fact that GTA 3 and GTA 4 are only 7 years apart is mind blowing.

two games in my current rotation made this list- Tony Hawk pro skater 3 & GT3…(what’s with the 3’s?) but a game that didn’t make the list but a good honorable mention…Silent Hill 2.

Tony Hawk Underground is definitely the best. I remember playing the first time being blindsided by the fact there was a story mode and how well written it is. The soundtrack, the characters, the story, the controls and movement. It's so perfect

MGS also had me in a loop at the menu. Lol

Lol getting stuck on the main menu of Metal Gear Solid 2. That happened to me as well.

I had some weird disc reading issues on my PlayStation 2. I had to open it up and grease the bars where the laser slides. Some games there were no issues and others would make awful noises like yours is doing and crash or not load right.

SkyGunner is in my top 5! An utterly overlooked gem and doesn’t age, due to its graphic style.

I had a PS2 on release thankfully got EB's swap return deal. The system would really have to rev up and vibrate for those blue games that I think were only CD's vs the silver dvd ones. After my third replacement I just stopped playing those games to stop my system from always breaking the DVD drive. I have a funny feeling if you look at the game disks color (like how ps1 was black disks) you will notice those are the system breakers.

Yea. Back in the day Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 was my first game of the series. And it was great. But I played 4 way more and a lot with friends. I think somehow there was better graphical detail in 3 as the maps where smaller. Something about ratio. I should go back and play the third one.

GTA III and Madden 2003 simply don't hold up nowadays but San Andreas, Vice City, Tony Hawk 3+4, Metal Gear Solid are all-time classics

Flatout 2 is the best racing game for ps2 if you ask me, so many modes you can play not just campaign it was awesome

Upscalling madden is a thing a beauty

One fix for games that had issues reading on the ps2 is to stand the ps2 up vertically. I have two games that only work when the ps2 is upright.

The pal gta cover is a lot better than the US cover, I wish they kept to the movie style covers instead of the generic grid covers.

The first time I played through MGS2, at the part where the Colonel tells Snake to turn off the ps2 console, I did. Probably more embarrassing than getting stuck on the main menu. But yeah MGS2 is easily #1 in my book.

For me personally I would add God of War 2 to that list. Those games were simply mind blowing back in the day.

DMC 3 you can play for 100h if you aim to understand how it works and go for the S scores on higher difficulties the depth is incredible and all of it is hidden away from the normal playthrough
