Red lights is sexy and all but if you dig through it, it’s basically a narration of someone being obsessed to someone to the point that it is already suffocating, which explains by the chain. red lights which tells us to the sign to stop before getting devoured by emotions. It also depicts that relying to someone too much could kill you. "I cannot breathe without you being right by my side".

Hyunjin actually did write a lot of it, he said he did in the howl in harmony video. Like they even showed the parts where Hyunjin wrote the chorus. Like chan already had the basic part of the beat and guitar but Hyunjin wrote the melody for the chorus and the lyrics whcih was so cool to see jusf off the top of his head. He also was the one that came up with the concept. So even though you’d think it would be chan it was actually HJ the crazy ass.

True, that reminds me when Hyunjin said on that radio once the song finished playing "I love this song, who made iiiit? it's Meeee", and then you can see in Howls in harmony 3rd and 4th ep i guess when he explained how he came up with the idea and how he worked on the music him and Chan, Hyunjin's brain is sexy he should be given more opportunities like these, he's got a very artistic way of thinking, you can see that in his dancing style and his paintings too ...

If you are curious on the concepts of the unit songs they explain it all in Howl in harmony series but, in a short description this is kind of about overworking and being a perfectionist. They mention different egos and kind of like ocd/anxiety.

In this video Hyunjin and BangChan is basically the same person, the person is suffering from OCD. They got obsessed with what they do and on the other side they wanted to get away with that feeling but they can't. They portray it so artistically. They explained each unit songs on Howl in Harmony if you wanted to see it. And Chan said in his vlive that Hyunjin wrote all the lyrics haha! Actually Hyunjin also said he made the lyrics.. but I bet that they both made it, chan was just taking advatage of Hyunjin. Haha!

Okay but the real question, whose Chris gonna do a song with next? We've already got a song with Lee Know, now with Hyunjin. This is my fave song in the album. It's about internal conflict and being paranoid that everything should be organized and in place and nothing should go wrong. I mean, we all had that anxiety and tension. Hyunjin said they got inspiration from Venom movie, there are 2 persons/ characters in 1 body , and Chan is the symbol of Venom I think that’s why he gets chained and trying to take over hyunjin body. This is why in the dance scenes you can see that they're doing the exact same dance but reflecting each other making it feel like a mirror scene and obviously in a mirror, we see ourselves so that adds to the fact that they're one. This also explains why in most of the scenes, they're either mirrored to each other or doing the same thing. The song basically talks about trying to fight the ego, compulsion, obsession etc. within yourself and stuff, OCD in a way. And the theme for this was compulsion within themselves, like an obsession almost and wanting to portray that through mirroring/alter egos. It’s really menacing and dark. The fact though that Hyunjin basically said that he likes being choked kinda scares me.

I stumbled upon Stray Kids' song 'Red Lights' through an Instagram reel, and it quickly became a favorite, playing endlessly on my Apple Music playlist. It took me a while to discover the music video on KZfaq, but when I did, I was thoroughly impressed. This experience sparked my interest in Stray Kids, leading me to explore their other works. Hyunjin's performance in 'Play with Fire' sealed the deal for me, and now I proudly consider myself a devoted Stay, drawn in by their humor and charm.

i see it as like the battle of obsession.. because Chan seems like the “aggressor” but then hyunjin says “I know you want me” so it’s kinda like he’s taunting him to see how far he’ll go. and when he puts his hand around chans neck it makes it seem like hyunjin is the one who holds all the cards because he has control over Chan. he is so obsessed that he’ll do almost anything and hyunjin knows that ..

He and Hyunjin talked about it a lot before. Drive uses driving as a metaphor for sex. This song uses sex as a metaphor for compulsions, urges, and obsessions. Edit: what I said is my own understanding, not word for word what they said. They just said it's about ego and obsessions. But on the surface the lyrics are very sexual. I think it's cool to turn the trope around- soooo many songs use metaphors for sex. Awesome to use sex as a metaphor instead imo

How about this: They are talking about a toxic, painful love that they can't let go of. They sing "I can't leave you alone". The chains is their bounding to that love, the neck grabs are the pain, and the darkness of the video is the toxicity of this love. "Make you feel my love"is probably them talking to the person, desperately trying to reach them with their love

seeing as red is pictured as a colour representing danger, I personally think that this song is about being stuck in a toxic relationship and we are seeing inside their minds and witnessing what others don't. its kind of like one sided love, the boys love this person and they don't love them back. The chains and the rope could mean that they're being brought into things that they don't want to do and being controlled. for example their thoughts and movements aren't theirs. sorry if this doesn't make scene
