Dustin Rodriguez legit one time I was programming a game for my brother and I heard a noise so I looked down and there was blood and a huge gash down my leg. Turns out the keyboard thing on my desk (which I never use) fell off and shattered my nerves, therefore I couldn't feel it... I still can't feel very well with that leg

+LarryLazz using using some bare steel wire and a soldering iron to melt the wire into the plastic and the plastic to the little nubs then using some two part epoxy to make sure its sturdy, then re attach the USB PCB back into place with the screws and put it back together.

Great video Luke. I want to see more videos like this from you. You showed a new level of passion, confidence and skill with no cringeworthy moments to speak of. You seemed really relaxed and the whole video had a chilled vibe about it. I liked how you got your colleagues involved as that added humour and somehow validates the whole project. Overall the video was entertaining and not too long which is refreshing. Keep up the good work!

I've kept a Sony Viao laptop alive for over 8 years. I've replaced the screen twice, upgrade to an SSD twice, & upgraded from 2GB to 4GB of RAM. I've soldered in a yellow RCA port to replace the broken power port and soldered the end of an RCA cable to the end of my power cord, which I've replaced 3 or 4 times. It has Vista 32 bit, but now Windows 10 64bit with only minor quirks. I've replaced the battery which came with a BIOS cd to bypass original Sony battery verification. The current SSD is acting up again, so I continue the cycle just fixing it. It's really no better than a Chrome Book these days, but I hang onto it not only to save money, but as a testament to working through problems instead of taking an expensive cop-out.

8 years isn't that long for a laptop right? I've had my laptop for 8 years, I haven't even needed to repair anything yet. I just replaced the battery once, removable battery so I didn't even need a screwdriver.

I think the place is haunted. The land where the office was built belonged to a farmer that died tragically in his barn 200 years ago. My first mech board was a Ducky DK9008S3, very similar to yours! Mine is also full size, but Cherry reds, with DIP switches in the back that I don't remember what they're for, but awesome! Still have it with my collection of PC parts, as I have a lot of attachment with it!

Ducky quality is amazing. I don't exactly like the removable cable support on that model but my DK2087 is flawless. I'm pretty sure I dumped water on it at least once and it still works perfectly fine.

Thank you, you’ve inspired me to take apart my keyboard today. My favorite keyboard is the Logitech g15 gaming keyboard. I had problems with the “I” key with it not responding to key presses. All of the other buttons seemed fine but this puzzled me and I just looked for a replacement keyboard. I wasn’t sure how to see about getting it fixed, it was just waiting for my tech pile to get big enough to call the “pick up your crap” tech recycling guys. I took it apart and it was very interesting what the keyboard components are. I hope the solution to my fix will get my baby working again.

I bought this exact keyboard when I was twelve, and it was new. Year of the snake was my zodiac, and I had just received Christmas money, so it was time to splurge. I remember buying single parts to build my first computer before it was finally ready to build. Jump to today, and I'm still using this keyboard for a computer science degree. This model was notorious for having a bad batch of blue LEDs, and sure enough, half of them went out. Today, I took this behemoth apart and soldered in 108 new white LEDs, and I feel just as giddy as I did when I was twelve years old, testing out all the lighting modes again.

You're amazing, man! I have a membrane keyboard (V7 Mad catz - was called Cyborg, that's the one I have) so I've had it for a while, and the backspace broke recently, therefore me putting it away, until I watched this video, stripped it apart and realised the actual layer of the keyboard (idk what it's called) wasn't properly plugged into the motherboard XD Plugged that sucker in and now it works!

You could probably use some plastic over top the switches and just ghetto tape the plastic to the switch slider

+Shizzle my Dizzle I put to much pressure on a few of the keys damaging the stem/shaft thing on the key caps. I have swapped out some other keys to make it work, but other keys are worn out.

I just did a similar retrofit to my older razer 2012 blackwidow. Swapped the mx blues for Zealios 67grams and cleaned the keycaps up
