In our latest Service Drive Revolution episode, we tackled a
challenge many of us face daily: making selling easier in the
Service Drive. We've all experienced that awkward moment
trying to explain additional services to a customer while juggling multiple
appointments. Our discussion did a deep dive into this reality,
exploring how to build rapport before jumping into maintenance recommendations.
Throughout the episode, we highlight five simple system focuses that
set our Service Advisors up for success. It's not just about telling
them to be proactive; it's about fostering an environment where
proactivity thrives.

I love his list. ESPECIALLY the appointments. OEMs started pushing for this because of the retention issues dealers started having long before covid thinking that was the source of the problem... dealers being too restrictive in their schedules. But that's just the symptom. They like an open drive because they want it to be first come first serve... and that too is a poor effort of the manager trying to solve the issue of advisors taking on too much or lazy advisors not helping others' customers. So dont put them in an advisors name.. but what a system that backfires when retention is impacted.

I’ve tried using AI on already diagnosed vehicles. There is a special tool on chat gpt that is tailored for it. It’s not awful but it can definitely improve. As long as you input the vehicle and DTCs with symptoms it will give you a good plan for testing and will even give you torque specs when asked how to replace parts.
