As an owner of the 2004 ref. 2718 and modern version in yellow gold, I can safely say that the Cintree has one of the most elegant and sensual designs of all.

I love my 2015 Santos Galbée. With a 2892 mvmt. Loving it and happy to bring it at any watch gathering.

By the way, as of July 18th 2022 the Cintree Skeleton is still available on the website. I love the timepiece. Especially, the way the movement is engineered and incorporated in the case. Obviously, watch enthusiasts are divided here. My concern, beside the price point would be, that you would look at the movement and the skin of your wrist. But again, hats off at Cartier for creating such a beautiful timepiece.

Hi, on a different approach I want to provide some technical stuff that I have experienced with my Cartier watches. My first Cartier, Santos quartz 1989 has suffered severe use with my slalom water skiing (I never take my watch off) and building site scaffolding climbing and rough environment conditions. The 2004 steel Tank Francais was exposed to scuba diving to a depths of 25-30 m. No problem. Finally the 2004 yellow gold Tank Americaine worn after hours every day has a accuracy of 1-1.5 seconds a day verified against the World Clock. John Righiniotis.

Typography is such a big deal on a dial. I once did not buy a watch because the typefaces used were Arial and Times New Roman (and we're talking high end watch brand here). That's treating typography like an afterthought, opening MS Word and selecting the most over used fonts. Not sure why anyone would do this - there are so many options

Amazing how we see the story being spun but the playbook remains the same. Buy watches cheap, hype them up and all of a sudden they become the coolest watches. Happened with vintage rolex, Journe and now Cartiers. Dealers need to eat (get richer), so story telling becomes integral to their living. Sure, some Cartiers have classic designs and look good, but a lot of them that are hyped up look downright silly with their case sizes and design. Dealers are like old school stock brokers (think wolf of Wall Street).

$20k for a watch with mineral crystal glass? Meh, don't think so. Would rather have a 5196.
