I totally agree with John Goldberger, the excitement of collecting things comes from the stories that you can remember and tell to other collectors-friends (and ofcourse family) about when and where you discovered them, how you discovered them, how and what you did to get them! Only god knows how many stories he could tell us about his uniques and hyper-limited watches he has. Thanks for this video and the previous one, hope to see him again!

Fantastic. These intimate looks into collecting are far superior than anything else on KZfaq in my opinion. Two of the greatest guys in the Watch world discussing some of the most beautiful designs in product design history = golden entertainment.

Its always exciting to see Mr Golberger and even more fascinating to hear him speak on watches and why they are important - beyond simply rarity. Kudos to Revolution for having him speak - it doesnt get any better. Cant wait for his next book. ☺

The is a nice video, and one of the few that you can really focus on the content of the video, rather than the usual "yes, yes, incredible, yes, fantastic, amazing, yes, yes" of Wei. I rarely see a full video of Wei because of his yes yes. they get on my nerves.

Well I think the first two minutes of the video are not quite accurate as the first 'real' perpetual calendar wrist watch was AP and ref.5516 produced in 1955. Patek watches lack the leap year function. So every 4 years you needed to make the correction to the calendar and this argue with the definition of the perpetual calendar. IMO 'Patek' useses the definition of Perpetual Calendar in a very neat way for their marketing purposes.

If "Pateks do less than nothing for me" why did you add a comment? You wouldn't have viewed the video because the title would have told you that it was a Patek being discussed and as "Pateks do less than nothing for me" you would have passed the video by and moved on to something else. So the fact that you took the time to add a comment tells me that you do care about Patek, and that Patek does do something for you as it made you give up your time to make the comment. Therefore the comment that you made is in fact incorrect as you have found a Patek video sufficiently interesting to add a comment.

My only problem with these videos with this chap is he always looks like he is looking at people off camera. Please just focus on the person you are interviewing or the camera. It’s really distracting seeing you looking at people we cannot see, it’s a bit pausing a sentence for a second with no reason to do so.
@SpaghettiKillah

Revolution interviews what is arguably one of the best watch collecters in the world, thus bringing you amazing content and unique pieces FOR FREE, and you complain how a gentelman in his 70s looks at the camera? He's not an actor who gives 10 interviews /week you know? Talking about entitlement.
@ianmedium
@ianmedium 5 жыл бұрын
SpaghettiKillah I’m talking about the interviewer not the interviewee. What part of what I wrote did you not read? As for entitlement, absolutely not but to make the experience more enjoyable for the viewer ( otherwise why bother posting these videos if it is not to entertain us) then a small piece of constructive critique is surely fine or do we really live in a world full of delicate daisies such as yourself who cannot take one piece of critique? If it had been me making this video and someone made the comment I made I would think, hey, he is right, it is a bit distracting and thank them for some constructive criticism so as to make my videos even better! Please, next time, read the comment your insulting before making an insult as it really makes you look stupid otherwise!
