You actually hit the nail right on the head. That is exactly what she was doing each time she met those kids. They were reminding her of her past and she more or less was showing them that the world they all thought was cool really wasn't. What a lot of commenters failed to realize was that this was a Yakuza driven town. Showing them how messed up this world was while reminding them they had a home to go home to was Revy's way of trying to help those kids not be like her.

Innocent children and even some teenagers deserve to grow up to how they wanna be treated in the best or most suitable way possible. For Revy, she was brought up almost motherless and an abusive father. For the actions and other things Revy had done, blame it on not just her dad, but also those who made her childhood such a nightmare. Because of what happened to her, Revy had to adapt to the chaos and awful society she was raised in. To her, she wants to leave the disgusting lifestyle, but can’t, because of how much horror and trauma she went through. Deep down, she even despises Roanapur and the fact she has to adapt the place’s madness to survive and keep her job as a muscle for a illegal courier company. When you really think about it, Revy is not completely bad, she’s only afraid of showing softness or weaknesses. Even having people exactly knowing her past even scares her.

Just remember when she killed that soldier who was begging for care and fabiola promised that they will take him to a hospital if he said them the information they needed. Everyone there hated revy for a bit but my theory is that she killed him because he was begging for mercy but nobody helped him in the end, the same thing with revy as a child, she was begging her father and the man who raped her to stop but the result didn't change. Overall i think she decided to show her cruel face to life as life itself showed her the same cruelty when she was a child.

Yep, exactly the point she was trying to make. A twisted form of teaching, yes, but those boys learned a valuable lesson. Guns are not toys, no matter what the Yakuza thugs around town like to say. They are instruments of death and destruction, built for an exclusive purpose: to murder and maim. That pistol could have easily done to their heads what it did to that cans-hell, in the hands of a master gunslinger like Revy, it could probably be used to saw clean through a person's neck and cleave their head clean off their shoulders. If they want to join the JSDF or the Police when they're older, that's just awesome, but here's the critical part: when they're *older.* Until then, stay away from anything with a trigger that shots anything more potent than water, if even that. To hold the real thing is to have the power of life and death in your hand. And that is something that should never be taken lightly.

My normal carry is Berretta 9mm similar to Revy’s. In the hands of someone who has patience and reverence then the fire arm can be handled with no accidents or injuries. (Aside from pinching your hand in the slide… done that a few times). As for shaving someone’s head clean off… ehhh… with a 9mm. Probably not. I will say if you are shooting hollow points then it will definitely punch a pretty big cavity. But other than that, one hit to a vital spot is all it would take. Interestingly, I don’t tend to shoot hollow points for target practice because they cost a bit more and are recommended to use as “carry ammo” because unlike full metal jacket they won’t go through the target and instead stop in the target. Anyway, all this to say I was practicing with hollow points shooting at cans, missing most of the time because hollow points seem to be a bit different when it comes to accuracy. Anyway I miss most of my shots on the cans. I finally adjust my aim when I figured out I was aim just a bit to high. I shoot, hit one of the cans, blow the van wide open, and it flies about 10 yards away. So yeah, it’s as you said. Guns are dangerous. I WILL SAY THIS. The reason I picked the Beretta 92, aside from the fact it was featured in this show, is because the gun is “idiot proof.” The safety on the gun is a decocker, so it will drop the hammer when the safety is on. So that’s one thing. It’s double to single action, meaning the first trigger pull is pretty heavy and requires you to commit to it, so it would be very hard to pull it on accident. Another thing is, it has a transfer bar. Which is a tiny piece of metal that raises up between the firing pin and hammer when the trigger is pulled. So even if the hammer was bumped and snapped forward while the safety is off. The gun still wouldn’t go off. The Italians know how to design safety features for guns it seems. Aside from that. Definitely always get the proper training. What freaks me out here is she fired in a neighborhood and the kids are not behind her when she does.

Their relationship is one of my favorite it terms of complexity in anime. They start out hating each other but after they share their scars the grow close. Theirs a deep trust, it’s funny because Revy has a different kind of trust for Rock than she does Dutch. Underneath all of it there is a very slight hint of attraction. What makes it interesting is due to Revy’s trauma in general and her twisted view of the world, I’m pretty sure she feels she doesn’t deserve affection, in addition to that, she idolizes the fact that Rock hasn’t totally been taken over by the corruption of the underworld and that he still has a sense of morality. I sense that she feels that if she were to become involved with him romantically then she would corrupt him. It’s definitely one of the more unique anime relationships because it is more of a deep friendship then a romance. It does make me wonder what the future of the series would be. I have a feeling if either one of them were to die then they wouldn’t be a able to move on. My prediction is, the two will get together, Rock will end up dying, Revy will find out that she is pregnant and will either raise her child in the amongst the scum of the underworld or she will leave the underworld. No matter what, I think this series is destined to end tragically.

@@andrewrivera190I guess so, but in the same way that would be the expected now for these tragic stories. That being the relationship ending in tragedy. It could do a 180 where the main gang slowly realise the unnecessary killings for profit lead to a situation where it creates more urban decay. Maybe not but who knows, the story is on going and the anime could even go in a different direction (definitely not unheard of). Black Lagoon has captured me recently, watching the ruthless crime drama of cyberpunk Edgerunners it’s hard to not see similarities. I hope that Hiroe Rei finds something thought provoking, and I hope he is doing well regardless of Black Lagoons success. This is a complicated relationship of immoral people who all have reserved wishes of a better way, I can’t help but root for Revy and Rock to get closer and have a lovey dovey relationship while knowing that it’s unlikely to happen. It’s very entertaining to watch Rock break through her hard shell, but also seeing how Rock changes because of her. I haven’t watched the whole of the 3rd season yet because I’ve seen that it strays away from Rock and Revy’s relationship which somehow pushes me away, it’s seems weird but I actually see Black Lagoon as a romance with a crime setting. I really want Black Lagoon to continue again, and also to give an interesting story without the need of unnecessarily killing off the main cast. This may be a controversial opinion but a death of the main cast without some sort of main plot reason for it just feels tacky and puts the show in the closed genre of tragedy. I feel like this show got most popular because of their relationship, I still think that season 1 episode 7 is my favourite. It perfectly struck the balance of action and romance while tying together a cohesive episode.

It's been a long time since I watched the series, but I believe she had the parts mailed in disguised packages. And yeah this series isn't hyper-realistic or anything.

It's easy. You put a gun in an envelope, and you fill it up with a lot of money.

I think the fact that she is a criminal, working with the Russian mafia is the reason she can have a pistol in Japan.

I'm guessing that if the Japanese police arrested Revy a charge of illegal possession of weapons would be the least of her problems.

Hahahaha nope. She was actually teaching those kids a very important lesson. You forget that was a Yakuza driven town. Those kids were playing and thinking the life of a gun slinger was cool and awesome. She showed them that guns are dangerous and even reminded them of their parents. In her own way she was actually looking out for those kids. The closest she was to being this kind was to Rock when she gave him his wake up call. Remember she was robbed of her childhood by some very corrupt police officers. Those kids have plenty of things they can still enjoy and find cool. Shooting at each other with airsoft guns just isn't one of them anymore. At best she actually guaranteed those kids will never find themselves in a life with the yakuza or crime.

Yeah. Even I shot and hurt quite a lot of pigeons, crows, and one agressive dog with air guns. That was, until a pigeon died.( air guns aren't lethal, generally. And one or two crows had to be killed, cause they were being a nuisance). That's when I decided not to kill or cripple anymore, unless absolutely necessary. (ex- self/others defence or food)

She was playing with kids pretty well, and most people here seem to interpret this moment as Revy showing those kids what the real world is like. She clearly doesn't *hate* kids, even if she doesn't want any. She blushed the first time playing with them.
