I'm a police 27 year veteran police officer in Southern California. And about 15 years ago California Democrats who completely control California started making laws where they obviously care more about Criminals than Victims. This is frustrating and demoralizing to police officers and it's causing the good police officers to retire early or move out of the state in mass. I'm in the process of retiring.... Thank God!

Maybe the pendulum has swung too far, but the reason so many people came down on law enforcement was because of the large amount of video evidence that was coming through showing abuses of power. The "bad" police officers are as much to blame as the actions taken by Democrats to curtail the abuses. Apparently, the "good" ones were reluctant to cross the blue line to bring the bad ones into compliance.

Working in that industry for a little less than 3 years, i saw plenty of folk that were willing to play ball. Like the chiefs of police who went snivelling to the state legislature about citizens open carrying. Then poof, the bill was written and passed into law. It was unlawful to open carry. Even academy recruits had to carry a plastic dildo on their holsters. Too many officers were hyperfocused on people exercising their right and made a mountain out of a mole hill because of the ,"how dare they carry?" Mentality. It's the, "they shouldn't have these rights" way of thinking. Most will never see the bigger picture until we are neck deep in shit and will cut and run instead pf staying and helping fix the problem they helped create. Sorry if I hurt your feelings but law enforcement enforce many of these stupid laws. It's the truth.

When he said "neither side has it all right" as far as policies etc.. thats the problem with people these days. They treat politics like sports teams. They pick a side and think they need to support them all the way, no matter what. They support everything they do, even when they turn bad. Im Scottish, i voted the Scottish national party my whole life. Now they turned so far left and toxic, i abandoned them. But so many people stick with them, even though they are found to be SO corrupt and destructive.

The issue lies in blindly supporting a political party or leader, which makes accountability impossible when they do wrong ... This is evident in both MAGA and Biden supporters, who often overlook the shortcomings of their respective leaders and remain staunch in their allegiance to them.

Here's the FACTS: I was born and raised in California, and had the chance to see every part of it for almost 3 decades. BUT when they said LA is beautiful and whatnot is just SO WRONG, as i don't see anything unique or out of this world in that shithole. Austin, Texas, then Miami Florida, Salt Lake city, Utah, etc.... then MANY cities in China, Japan, Europe, South America, etc .. has WAY BETTER environment/surrounding, etc .. than LA of any city in California. These people in the panel NEEDS to go out MORE to all 50 states and 100+ countries overseas. Y'all need to see it yourself BEFORE you believe this people, period.

Here in Wisconsin it is inverted. You can work every day and never get ahead. Only by moving away to Texas, New York, Florida, Ohio, etc do most people ever see a better life. That is why Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, along with other flyover states export their children to the coasts.

I hate the policies there but northern California is beautiful. I live in Napa valley, it's still somewhat pretty normal still.

@marcoszavala8435 I think certain areas may be slightly less effected than others. Not many can afford to live in Napa so I think it's less effected than other areas. I lived outside of Sacramento in the suburbs by Folsom. It slowly deteriorated there very bad although prices on everything continued to soar. The homeless and lower socio-economic status populations travel along the American River and the Public transportation system all around that area and up into Roseville and Placer County seeking those more beautiful areas you speak of. A lot of crime and business theft has come that way. Once they started allowing the homeless to camp and do drugs in the parks my children played in that was a huge motivating factor to leave. The police don't help either. Whether they didn't want to or weren't allowed to... I think a bit of both. Another point that pisses me off is I am a very proud white woman with a rich European history (we never owned no damn slaves in fact my Irish family WERE enslaved and treated horribly) and my family was not allowed to have pride in our history while other ethnicities get entire holidays and even months to celebrate their cultural heritage which is even more celebrated in CA... that was truly the last straw. Everyone has a right to be who they are, except white people. I believe all cultures should be allowed to express their love for where they come from without being called a bigot. So I gracefully left California knowing it will never be what it was from the 60s to the 90s... it's very sad. I'm glad you're still able to enjoy where you are though.

@@Trad-Mom oh thank you, and yea I totally understand you. And I can totally see places deteriorating, I don't have to go very far, Vallejo which is down the road is horrendous. Napa is a pretty nice community, it's pretty much 50/50 Hispanic and white for a long time due to all the wineries and field work and everyone gets along, there is no tension because of race because people just want to work and take care of their families. Hopefully you found a good place and community , and all of those saying that it's bad to be proud of your race are mostly far lefties who don't know how lucky they are to be born here.

@marcoszavala8435 Yes, you're absolutely right! My husband went back to Frisco recently for business, and the video and photos he sent me were just awful. Most Hispanic communities tend to just quietly stay in their own communities and are very hard working and just want to make a living wage and raise their kids properly, just like us. They are usually low crime, too. Shoot, I'd trade more of them for some of the lefties raised here any day!

Ring camera footage is now not able to be used to find criminals. No bail for crime even murder there are many that want all police abolished. Nice wealthy cities with their own police are very desirable, as all the other areas deteriorate

I was born and raised in california. I remember being so proud of that. I remember when i lived in NYC and telling people where i was from they were in awe and would ask me about it. Now I almost want to apologize to people when i tell them that's where I was originally from or even hide it. California will likely never be what it use to be which is sad. Its a beautiful state but frankly, I don't ever want to live there again

Wrong. I unfortunately live in California. They are not letting people break the law. I messed up and stole a pair of shoes for my son from Nordstrom Rack. I was able to get away from security, and that made them mad. As I was heading to my car, I pulled my keys out of my pocket and one of the security guards shouted out, "knife". I went to court, and my attorney said there was no knife seen at any time in the security video. Charges should have been dropped. Instead hey threatened me with 16 years for 1st degree robbery, or I could take a plea deal. I thought that if they are willing to charge me with robbery, then they are willing to sentence me to 16 years. The plea deal was battery and burglary with no time just probation. I took the plea deal. I find it fucked up that a courtroom full of people who are supposed to be about justice, from the judge to the bailiff, would knowingly sentence someone for something that they know damn well they didn't do. So, no, they are not just letting people get away with whatever they want to do.

I'm so sick of people saying how beautiful CA is. I lived there and just left, SoCal is a desert by definition and the hills are brown nearly year-round. There are beautiful areas in CA, but let's get real most of CA is brown and dry. The mountains are great, and beaches well beaches so they are nice enough. Granted beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I don't think it's unreasonable to say CA is objectively not the most beautiful state...get out more.

No party is going to be 100% the way you want it. You have to accept that parties will have their issues and you have to work within the party to change it. At the end of the day, you get only two options to vote and you have to make that decision and say which side makes more sense.

I used to agree that anyone who mostly agrees with a party is strange, but once you understand politics it becomes clear why the agreement are where they are. Truth is both parties DO agree on most things, but those aren't debated. The DIFFERENCES are what the parties are for, and those differences are motivated from deeper beliefs. I'd ASSUME I would be half and half, but I mostly agree with the modern right wing (or what right wing is supposed to be) because they stem from beliefs of prioritizing the individual and smaller Government. I am pro 2A, pro life, pro border security, lower taxes, less Government spending, and more capitalist ideals. These are ALL right wing, so it seems my initial assumption was full of crap. In hindsight, I used to say the whole 50/50 garbage so I could pretend to be more enlightened and unbiased when in reality I was young and full of shyt.
