The biggest streamers were the commanders of that war, in which they got support from the English-speaking community and the secret weapon was: The BTS Army.

The battle part was a reference to pixel war of reddit in which France and Spain had a rivalry, France used bots and South America, some Korean and Spanish fight against them. Nice video!

The last part of the War vs France was because on Reddit there was a mural in which each user could paint with 1 Pixel of the color they chose but this could be done every 1 minute which made it more difficult, and the French streamers had many bots to paint the flag of France in a large part of the mural and the Spanish-speaking community (Spain and Latin America) gave him the War on Reddit without bots with the help of several streamers who called on their chats to erase a large part of the French flag to leave the space to create other artistic pieces such as streamers' logos, memes, flags of other countries, and more references, and even in the end the BTS fandom united against France and succeeded.

This is going to be a wall of text since I'll try to explain as many references as possible because those CCs weren't helping AT ALL. 3:00 - At the beginning Alec appears asking for monetary help to pay the rewind because a big problem this year was not knowing if we would get a rewind at all because he didn't meet the required funds to get it done. 4:00 - In this pirate/boat scene the Latin American streamers are "fighting" against the Spanish streamers and asking them to "give back the gold" since a big running joke between both communities is about Latin America being colonized by Spain thus asking them to give back what their ancestors robbed from us. 4:48 - Honorable mention to the black mermaid since it was a big controversy this year (little mermaid live action) 4:58 - Jordin wild has been used as the face of a meme that, in some way, is shared between the English and the Spanish speaking communities. The joke in it self would be a typical joke of a jock asking a girl "where's my hug at?". Olvidona is not Jordi's brand (although it could) it is all part of the joke of him looking like a typical jock. 7:11 - buzz lightyear appears because of the new movie where it shows to woman kissing, labeled as "forced inclusion" 9:09 - Spreen (Messi shirt) and Juan Guarnizo had "beef" and made disstracks against each other. 9:18 - Yes, Ibai is our Mr.Beast. (This connects with the next scene) This year he made one of, if not the, biggest events called "La velada del año 2" basically boxing matches between streamers and youtubers. 11:16 - A lot of "inside jokes" are showed during this bit so I'll try to explain the ones I know of - Luzu (the guy with a broken leg) had to stop the fight after 1 round because of some pains he was feeling on his leg. 11:26 - ByViruzz vs Momo || After the match ended people were saying Viruz had an advantage over Momo because "he had a bigger and stronger helmet" hence the comically large helmet. 11:46 - Arigameplays vs Paracetamor || By far the best out of all of them, the whole bit is themed as a DragonBall Z match to show how epic we thought it was. 18:10 As you said, Minecraft is REALLY popular. Literally 3 minutes of video are dedicated to mention events made in Minecraft, to name some: Squid games, egoland, karmaland, tortillaland, dedsafio, saw games, etc. 22:50 - A common joke made to youtubers/streamers who have more than 1 channel is saying that they are different persons. Here Illojuan (the guy looking at all the TVs) meets LMDShow and El novio de Masi (Masi's boyfriend). 26:24 - This is a reference to the pixel war that happened in Reddit. It was mainly a fight between France and Spain. France started using bots to win all the pixels at an incredible speed and to counter that the Spanish streamers (Rubius, Auronplay, Ibai, Xocas) formed alliances with Latin American streamers (ElDed, JuansGuarnizo, Komanche, ElMariana) and they even got ARMY (bts fans) to tag along and also helps them to destroy France. I've probably missed or failed to explain stuff that was happening, but I hope this can provide at least some context about what's happening in the video.
