Thank you all for over 15k views within the first week! I didn’t expect this video to blow up the way it did! I’ve noticed a lot of comments giving the same ideas and suggestions for Crystallize buffs. Replying to each one individually is repetitive, so I thought I’d leave my responses to a couple in a pinned comment. First, there’s the idea of making either the Crystallize shards explode like a Bloom core, or having the shield do damage after breaking. I considered using this idea, but I watched LeOddster’s video, and saw they had the exact same idea. I didn’t have anything new to offer, so I left it out to avoid being a broken record. Once again, LeOddster’s video is linked in the video’s description, so check out that video if you wanna see more on the “exploding shield” idea! The other common idea was having each elemental shard buff a stat for a character, such as ATK for Pyro shards or HP for Hydro. I actually had this idea for the video, and then I simply forgot to add it in ~_~ But just know I’m 100% behind that concept! It would make each individual shard feel a bit more unique, even if they come from the same reaction.

An idea on how to use EM more effectively would be to have crystalize remove more portions of elemental shielded enemies. So it would take 10 Geo reaction to take down an abyss mage shield. But with like 100EM it would take 2 Geo reactions.

5x shield breaking with 100 EM is kind of ridiculous. You get 187 EM from a single mainstat arti. So you'd be going around practically insta-breaking abyss shields with any geo character that has a single EM mainstat arti. You don't have to be a number cruncher, but at least bring some basic awareness of the game.

Of all of these reaction ideas, Magnetize would have to be my favourite. The idea of crowd control outside of anemo is awesome, because it would allow for more diverse team building. Not to mention, it would make Fischl+Zhongli+Xiao a really good combo, and that would be epic.

First time i see discussions about this topic so dunno if anyone already said it. But here's my idea. I think it would be cool that the crystals on the floor aren't something the character picks up but actually count as a geo construct (without hitbox) and do 3 pulsations every 2 seconds (so they stay on field 4 seconds) "infused" by the element they got reacted with, the pulsations are as big as amber's ultimate, if it hits a character it gives a 20% resistance buff to that element, if it hits an enemy does dmg of the element infused, and if it hits another crystalize ricochets, similar to zongli and puzzles in the outside of chasm but only on crystalizes, not all geo constructs. The damage would scale on elemental mastery and not be that high but be something. (maybe 800 without ele mastery, 4k at 1000 elemental mastery) Why i like this? 1. Would make zhongli actually strong in damage, since his constructs doing x4 dmg if he's the only geo, maybe more like x2.5 if you have 2 geo constructs, besides the crystalize doing dmg itself. 2. Would change the geo stealing the reactions from other elements to actually being able to help keep the uptime (would for example let you play hu tao with yelan but without xingqiu since zhongli/albedo would help with the hydro application). 3. Would still be an amazing support utility without removing the need of shielders or healers, since it's a job completly different.

I like the idea of stacking shield durability while giving Archaic Petra off-field activation. The alternate reactions are really neat too, especially Magnetize; more grouping effects than just certain Anemo characters would be a welcome addition. My personal idea is having crystals that aren’t picked up explode like Dendro cores after a few seconds, dealing damage of the Crystallized element based on the Geo character’s EM.

At this point it's either a new element to give reaction to Geo, or a new character that give a completely new effect to picking up crystallize, which from some murmur for Navia is what she has. She probably is more dps oriented tho, whole what we need is a support ala Shenhe.

Bloom was viable before Nilou make it nuclear but crystalize is just terrible, especially since two of our like seven geo units are dedicated shielders and ningguang and albedo have fast enough geo app to where the could reliably make a crystalize shield in an elemental team. The second rework (in the video) where he suggests giving geo new reactions would be nice but it does just as much harm which is why we might need a geo rework anyways on top of the potential Navia (my queen) crystalize “buff” Sorry its a bit long, thats just my two cents

I love these ideas, would bring a lot more play to geo! My own suggestion would be that the crystals can either explode after a certain amount of time similar to Dendron cores. Dealing geo damage and the corresponding elemental damage. They can still be picked up to form a shield as well. It will still scale off EM. That way we can get some new em geo characters but ningguang could also still work

They did Geo dirty in Sumeru when they decided to give Bloom to hydro instead of Geo when literally you need earth and a seed to grow a plant. Bloom should've been a 3 element reaction (geo+hydro) = crystalize + apply dendro = bloom. Given how strong bloom are, i think it is fair and would give Geo use outside of their own element. Plus while you're at it remove Nilou's team restrictions to only 2 element and we're good.

I think Navia could be some kind of crystallize specialist that scales with em(making the shields stronger)WHILE giving teammates some kind of buffs or enemies debuffs. Not just that. She could have an ability that automatically pulls the crystalize shards towards you like gorou's burst. She could be a really good unit to replace some shielders in exchange for more damage. The only con would be a weaker shield. That sounds very much like how genshin devs handle powercreep, making one character best at one thing but still showing that there are other characters that can do what that one character cannot do. Opens up more team options.

Also characters like neuvillete would greatly benefit from navia if what I talked about turns out to be her kit. Since all neuvillete needs is interruption resistance and not an overly strong shield. She will be a better option than zhongli for C0 neuvillette. Gives really good buffs while also giving decently strong shields through crystalize. One thing to keep in mind is that crystalize's strong point isnt it's extremely strong one time shield. It is the overwhelming amount of mini shields that you can reset. With neuvillete's crazy hydro app,all it's gonna take is for navia to replace zhongli is if she has really good off field geo app. Also she can use archaic petra which is another VV pretty much

What I've imagined is than cristallisation give a boost that depend of the element used to trigger it Here are some ideas: Fire = more damage Water = small heal Electro = burst and attack reload faster Cryo = you weakened the enemies Wind = you go a bit faster Geo = more shield Dendro = higher max HP We would also keep the idea of elemental shield but the idea is also than the shields effects adds up but there would be a limit to the number of effect. This way, geo would stay an support element but would be way more interesting to play

If hoyoverse wanted to lean into the “geo is a defensive element” thing, they honestly could do way better than “drops a flimsy ass shield that unarmed hilichurls can break”. I suggest some kind of temporary stacking bonus that changes based on the number of crystals you pick up. For example: 1 crystal gives your whole party a defense % bonus. 2 crystals gives your whole party basic resistance to interruption (like, xingqiu’s rain swords level) 3 crystals gives your party a small bonus to an offensive stat based off of each character’s defense (maybe bonus elemental damage or something like that) 4 crystals gives your party even more defense % 5 crystals gives your party super armor (a la Raiden shogun) Each bonus would stack (except for 2 and 5, bc 5 would override 2) and they last… idk, 30 seconds, independently. It would benefit geo teams the most, as they scale off of defense the best, but resistance to interruption and a basic stat boost will benefit any team. The idea is that your character itself is becoming “crystallized”, and therefore becoming harder to kill and harder to push around the more crystallized you get. You’re also hitting harder based on how “tough” your new crystallized body is, or something like that. There won’t be any visual changes, except maybe you see the crystals floating around you similar to ningguang’s jade.

Separate geo reactions part gave me an idea of an utility buff to crystallize: each elemental shield should give immunity to corresponding elements reaction similar to abyss mages shields - cryo immunes freeze effect, pyro and electro immunes overload and so on. Moreover each elemental shield could give self application of corresponding element until it breaks, so for example you could do damage to enemies with overload by applying the reaction to yourself or spread the element with anemo.

from what i know so far from my friend's leak, navia uses crystallized as an ammo for her umbrella gun, sadly she scales on attack basically cant gain any benefits from geo resonance or defense scaling support but heard that her kit boosted by hp altering passive like neuvillette & wriothesley, this might allowing her into national team with furina but i might get the feeling that she might get dehya or dori treatment where her kit gets confusing because of crystallized usually scales on em while geo majorly scales on defense, or she'd be like nilou where she can have off field geo character like albedo to trigger crystallized reaction for her

Idea one is literally the archaic artifact. The idea of the artifact is to use for example 3 characters of the same element like electro and then 1 geo character as the main DPS and acting as a buffer of the off field characters. The damage boost is huge and could surely work even today. There are players who actually use this strat with Keqing, Fischl, zonghli and Nahida. It won't be surprising if Genshin added a Geo character scaling on EM because they have been doing this since v 1.0. Character scales with HP, Defense, EM, Atk, energy recharge etc... So idea one is already in the game technically speaking so all we have to do is wait for a Geo character that scales with EM. Idea 2 is already in the game as well, Geo resonance. The idea about the crystallize reducing the elemental resistance is already an Anemo thing so there is actually just no need for it, also it would reduce the quality of Zhongli. And stacking shield would be too broken. I think you are not aware that the crystalize is actually a very strong shield against its corresponding element. You can try this on Viviane of the lake, a hydro crystalize with literally no EM can take some hits from the strongest mob in the game. The dendro cystalize is something i d rather not happen. Right now We can actually create a team comp of 2 Geo 1 electro and 1 dendro in a Geo team without disrupting the Dendro element which is a very good thing. What i want Mihoyo to do is give Geo a special resonance where if there is 1 Geo character in a team certain buff would then be applied permanently to the team. This then would make Geo an option instead of boosting the Geo element as entirely that might end up breaking the game.

I atill prefer the idea to copy the way the Vishaps use Geo, by absorbing other elements and gaining their properties. So my idea is still to have crystalize shields deliver waves of elemental damage of the absorbed element, that way these shields would also contribute to elemental application.

I think my idea for a geo rework would be something along the lines of; When a new shard is picked up, the old shield explodes dealing damage and leaving behind a field of its specific element for 5s, applying the element to any enemies inside it at a rapid rate. A percentage of the old shield's durability is kept and stacks on top of the new one, this can happen multiple times up to a certain cap. When the shield explodes or the enemy walks into the field and triggers a reaction it doesn't remove the reacted element, but it becomes inert to that element for 1s and cannot react to it again during this time. The reaction created goes off like normal; for example a pyro shield/field reacting with electro triggers overload, but would also create a new pyro shard at the same time. Shields and fields can only create this effect on each enemy one time, but their triggers are considered separate so the they can both trigger a reaction on the same enemy after the inert timer runs out. This to me feels like it could just be a great way to give geo some true synergy in their team comps, allowing for more application of the elements through creating fields but also bonus reactions through their ability to trigger reactions that don't remove the element, and thus not messing up reaction cycles while also feeding into itself by creating more shards to create more shields and fields to trigger more reactions. It's not a perfect change, but it's a damn sight better than what currently exists.

I thought about a similar concept to your second idea, except instead of resistance shread while the crystalize shield is up, make it so when the shield breaks it explodes and deals AoE damage of the corresponding element. The damage would scale with the geo character's EM and enemies hit by that have their resistance to geo and said element reduced. This would stack with Zhongli's shield but not with itself. To make it consistent, crystalize shield should stack with normal shields and take priority in recieving damage. On another note, since Navia will most likely release in 4.3, crystalize should work differently for her, by only reducing damage taken by a certain percentage (instead of fully blocking) and healing it back after the shield breaks or expires. The healing would scale with her EM. That way, she would contribute in a way to Fontaine character's HP drain/ healing mechanics and would pair well with Furina. Add that on top of the early mentioned rework and some other tweaks for her and you get a pretty solid (pun intended) unit.

I think its fine to add the small def resistance on top of the anemo reaction, it would honestly make the shield breaks less annoying since ylu benefit from the breaking to get the def shred. The anemo reaction with geo funcuoning like Tighnari's skill os very nice and it wouldnt be over powered, especially since neither aura stays on the enemy for long. Pertrification is also a really cool effect and its unfortunate that only Zhongli gets it, I could see it being utilized in more kits.

I would personally make it so you having a crystalyze shield you get corresponding buffs depending on the element (Crit rate for Cryo, Hp for Hydro, Atk for Pyro, Er for Electro). I feel like this would help out geo as a whole. Mono Geo can now get that buff from the 4th flex slot they're running, Albedo is now a way better buffer because of constant geo application, Archaic Petra is now at least somewhat more worth using but it should still be fixed (it only gives the buff to the character who picks up the shield).

My idea for a fix to Crystalize is a three-part fix. The first is to have it deal a burst of damage over a wide area when picked up that matches the element used to create it based on the Geo character's EM and shield strength %. It doesn't have to deal a lot of damage, it just has to reapply an element to continuously loop the crystalize reaction. Second would be having the shield strength not based on the individual character, but having it be based on specifically the Geo character who created it. That way you can have a consistent shield strength that doesn't suddenly get weaker or stronger when switching characters. Third and final would be a change to all Geo character's kits - making all of them have an innate shield strength % stat regardless if their kits include shields or not. It would make Geo characters other than Zhongli more viable since they can create their own strong shields and not have to worry about taking a partial hit on a character with 0 shield strength %. You wouldn't be forced to build EM for a strong shield, but there would be wiggle room if you need the shields to be a bit more tanky by supplementing it with substats instead of sacrificing your main stat piece to EM. This would, however, go in hand with my first part in that if you wanted to build or rolled into some EM then you wouldn't be punished for doing so - as adding to damage would never be a bad thing for a game like Genshin.

My idea for Geo reactions is this: Making the Elemental shard shielding process consist of two reactions. A) Solidify: Caused by applying Geo to a target with an elemental aura. It will form an Elemental Stone, And from here two things can happen. B) Either apply Geo on the elemental stone, triggering the familiar Crystalise reaction and forming a shield. C) Or break the stone without the geo element, triggering an Elemental application unique to the type of elemental stone. - Hydro will cause it to rain, maybe even heal the character a bit. - Pyro will create and explosion. - Electro will create a circle similar to electro abyss mages. - Cryo will send frozen shards in various diractions like large cryo slimes. - Anemo can create an upward currect or a whirlwind. - Dendro can spawn a plant to fight for you. I suggest this because the Elemental stones introduced at the start of the game was so cool, but it literally did not get utilised.

so many people know that Navia is expected to focus on crystallize reactions and depending on the element, it will have a different buff. Rather than an idea for the crystallize, my opinion is that we might have a new mechanic soon in the game. But Navia will just be the test version of it. We might have this new geo-based mechanic in Natlan. We had Dendro in Sumeru and in Fontaine we have ousia pneuma. Natlan is a volcanic region that should be rich in minerals. Regardless of their element, each character might have an extra buff for crystallize.

I would like to say Geo is fine, but I cant. It has fallen so far behind the other reactions that something needs to be done. If I could adjust things, these are the 3 changes I would make to the Geo reaction: 1) Geo reaction not reducing elemental gauge and interfering with other elements. (Team synergy.) 2) Crystalize bonuses scaling with the Geo character's Defense instead of elemental mastery. (Defensive aspect.) 3) Crystalize created shields last for 10 seconds (or until broken) and explode in a small AoE when they do, for damage equal to the max protection they provided. (Damage aspect.) --- Anyway good video!

I really like magnetize and root. Gives way to more diverse team comps and less reliance on certain elements (wind and ice in this case) so that way we could focus on building our teams with characters we like over gameplay because the gameplay will be there to help support that. Blind will also be a nice addition for really tough bosses though I'd recommend either that they hit allies or themselves because sometimes it's just a boss battle. Overall, I just hope they add stuff to geo with Navia. Please save geo goddess Navia 🙏

Imagine if Hoyo will release a geo character who revolves around EM whereby the crystallised crystals they create will burst dealing damage similar to hyperbloom. That would be super cool as a dps character concept. Another cool concept is an anemo+geo reaction maybe creating a "dust" reaction which could either blind enemies or perhaps make this a stackable debuff on the enemy which results in petrification once it stacs enough. And to add to that, maybe even do a shattered-like reaction on petrified enemies. Also, I think shattered enemies should have their defences reduced.

Currently the two weakest elements are anemo and geo. They can't react together directly but you can have a reaction through the crystalized shard, I can think of three reaction on the same template as quicken aggravate and spread : Pulverize : - anemo can swirl element from crystalized shards(I don't think it's the case right now, but I could be wrong). -After a shard has been swirled it explodes on a short delay(so this takes place after the swirl reaction). The explosion doesn't deal damage, instead it clears the elements on the target and then apply a strong elemental gauge (2 or 3 units) of the shard element as well as the pulverize state which last 9 seconds. Abrade: anemo + pulverize - shred anemo and geo resistance based on EM(0=10%,400=20%,1000=30%),last 3s. Grind: Blunt damage + pulverize - shreds defense based on EM(same scaling as abrade),last 3s These effects last for the same duration as superconduct's shred (you only need one shard every 12s)but requires constant geo and anemo application to stay up. On the other hand the stong elemental application provided by shard explosions makes forward vape and melt viable albeit only with a rainbow team and albedo as your geo applier.Zhongli can work too but I wouldn't bet on it.

I think a good enough geo buff alongside stacking crystallize shields would just be to give us a way to generate geo crystals on our own. Adding new reactions would mess with the stabilility of the current set of reactions and team comps, but allowing us to make our own geo crystals would allow geo characters to take advantage of the archaic petra set and make actually decent shields since geo shields have an inherent resistance to all kinds of damage

My idea is that Crystallize crystals give different buffs depending on the element, mostly based on the existing team resonance, on top of the shield effect. For example: Pyro crystals give you an Attack buff; Cryo crystals give you a crit rate buff; Electro crystals give you an ER increase; Hydro gives you a max HP increase; Anemo gives you a movement and Attack speed increase; Dendro gives you an EM increase; and Geo gives you a double-layered shield. That way, you can tailor your teams needs better, especially in teams that have 3 set units and a 4th flex member that doesn't *really* matter.

All of the new reactions are interesting, but the one that I kina don't like is Blind (anemo+geo). I think a interesting idea would be something similar to swirl. It would deal more damage, but as a trade off the abilities are shorter (as examples: Sucrose ult, Kazuha ult and so on). I think this would be more balanced and more useful than making enemies attack randomly. (I'm sorry if this has any spelling mistakes, since english is not my first language)

If I had to pick any of the ideas in this video, I’d honestly go with the second one. Geo being the big shield element and having its limited reactions is a good thing. Leaning into its defensive abilities, and maintaining the current unique iterations of the characters that exist, would be good. Because now you further empower the biggest faces of those elements. Itto literally becomes and invincible Oni with his club, Nigguang is a solid investment, Zhongli remains the ever sturdy support, and so on.

Magnetize, Root, and Blind sound really cool. Though, having more ways to crowd control, may nerf Anemo. Rooted is interesting, because just like the Dendro churl, I fully expected us to get a character that uses Dendro constructs to wall off or ensnare enemies (instead we got traveler, which isn't bad but, meh). Blaze and Avalanche sound a little too OP though. I like Erode for the stacking defense shred, I think res shred in general is a balanced mechanic to work into Geo. My solutions would be to create a Geo character that: -scales fully with EM and buffs other Geo characters' EM and Geo damage when Crystal cores are collected. This stacks up to 4 times giving a max of 240 EM and 160% Geo damage bonuses. (the buff may have to be bigger to make Geo comparable to meta teams) -Has a shit ton of front-loaded Geo Damage (All Geo DPS are on field auto attackers--and two are claymore users. That just adds to how slow their offense is) -Applies a lot of Geo (like in the above example). Just having a Geo character that applies enough Geo to remove other auras allows more teams to be built around the crystalize reaction. (not to mention being better at shield busting)

If you keep crystallize, just make it scale of Defense. Even better, give the character a damage boost. Maybe the element it is based off of gives a 1-10% Element dmg bonus for the crystallized element it is (If it’s electro and you get it you get 1-10% for dmg) Antoher way is Geo + Pryo = Magma. Maybe Magma could form a little area that causes pyro dmg in that spot (max 3) and if is affected by electro it will explode and not dealing dmg to yourself. Geo + Hydro = sog . sog. will cause a 10% Hydro weakness. Geo + Anemo = Erdoe. It will -10% def to enemy

I honestly would like for crystalize to get nixed in favor of new reactions, but while I like some of the ideas some others aren't as great. What I like: Avalanche: it doesn't mess with current teams outside of reverse melt using Zhongli which is very uncommon, but using that same team would in theory allow for Xiangling to melt her hits leading to a new archetype, might be too strong, but it's a nice idea at least. Others might be able to use melt, Diluc already dabbles in it by not infusing his NA, so balancing is questionable but the idea is cool. Erode: A cool idea that fits thematically and won't mess up teams, what else is there to say. Magnetize: allowing grouping outside of anemo would probably lead to more comp variety without messing with the meta too much since anemo units are so good already and swirl has semi-quadratic scaling to keep it top dog in mobbing. What I don't like: Blaze: If you are going to change crystalize a reaction that messes with a current common use case is one of the last things you want to do. Zhongli Yun Jin and Albedp love being in vape teams and this would screw them out of those while forward vape is unlikely to work for the current roster even if you tune it to the point that it works through the extra gauge cost of forward vape. Not to mention that burning is intended to provide a similar role with consistent pyro application. Root. It's freeze without blizzard strayer, sure it works on bosses but honestly most bosses are close to stationary anyways, id much rather it be something else, perhaps a healing reaction. Blind: I don't think there is much of a need for anemo and geo to react, but blind is simply not gonna much. Most attacks by melee opponents are fairly big and your chances of hitting a ranged opponent with geo and anemo aren't high so often blind will do next to nothing other than damage.

I think Idea 2 has merit. Especially stacking the shields, like Thoma. However, would it be better to make the maximum shield stack number scale off of EM, instead of just flat 8000? For example, at 0 EM the maximum be very small like 100. For every point of EM, increase the Max shield stack by a certain amount, maybe like 10. So for an 800 EM build, the maximum is 8100.

@Elrog3 not true. Nilou, for example, opened up a whole new archetype of teams, many characters of which would be unused otherwise. Nahida enables so many characters and raises the ceiling of Dendro and Electro teams. Gorou is the only reason mono geo is viable. Newer units can open possibilities for new team synergies. It's not always about flat buffing reactions or elements outright. Burning got nerfed when Dendro came out, but dendro created a new niche for burning teams with burn-melt. Furina buffs healers and HP changers to the point that u may want to prioritize her damage buff over reaction damage. Just ONE character can change the entire meta!

@@rendition55 Bloom was much more viable before Nilou existed than crystalize is now. It was still a thing before. And if a character only is good when run alongside her, she takes the majority of the credit for the team being good. And what character do you think she's buffed? Nahida? Kokomi? They are good in many other teams as is. Nahida didn't make other dendro characters more viable. Sure, she gave us another strong character in the game that can carry less useful ones. That's not the same thing. If anything, she made other dendro characters less useful. We are talking about buffing an element here. Not creating a supercarry. Sure, she made electro more useful. But the existence of dendro in the first place did most of the work there. Quicken uptime is not hard to maintain. With Gorou, again, Itto already has moderate damage beforehand. Crystalize might get triggered sometimes but it's completely irrelevant to the team. There is no team that focuses on doing the crystalize reaction. And if Navia is the sole character that makes it happen, she gets all of the credit for that team existing. Just because you might be able to put some other geo character in the team for the resonance, doesn't mean it has to be any particular one of them. Crystalize should be viable on its own without her. Navia is just going to get slotted with full mono geo, Zhongli, or maybe albedo. Geo traveler, Ningguang, Yun Jin, and Noelle won't get any help from her. And they are the ones who need it more. Yun Jin has only has a couple teams where she's notable. Noelle can be a strict downgrade to Itto in monogeo and she can drive hyperbloom ok but shes nothing special. Yes, new characters can create new teams and they can change the meta. Its not always about buffing reactions directly, but crystallize could really use it. Bloom focused teams were already doable. No team focuses on crystallize. Even mono geo just ignores it. Sure, you can say Navia gives us at least one team for crystalize. But her existing means its less likely we can get a flat crystalize buff without making her overpowered. And a flat crystalize buff would do more. It wouldn't save Yun Jin because her application is bad, but it would help Ningguang, geo Traveler, and Noelle more than Navia will. It would help them while they are with Navia with whatever other kit she might end up with instead and it would help them without her being in the team as well. And Ningguang could honestly just use a direct buff to herself as well. Sure. Furina buffs healers. Its the healers that are already the top ones that get the most benefit. We aren't going to be seeing much more of Qiqi or Dori. Kokomi is still going to overshadow Barbara.

@@Elrog3 Bloom, viable? Ittou without Gorou? Come on, man. That's just copium. And even if Nilou gets the credit, it still doesnt change the fact that Bloom teams have higher usage now. Nilou enables weak dendro characters, Nahida, enables... everybody (outside of weak dendro characters you'd replace her with). Regardless of whether the buff comes directly to the reaction, It's newer units that create new synergy, not new systems. Barbara actually recives quite a buff being the only hydro unit who can high heal the whole team at once. True Kokomi's application will be favored in reaction teams or ones with long rotations, but Barabara now has a more comfortable niche. Either way Furina buffs HP manipulators, creating a new meta. It wasn't the Pnemousia system or just HP manipulation in general, it was a singular character who consildated the roles and now branches outward to new possible team buidling. Even if geo gets an overhaul (which it won't), it'll be a new unit who consolidates that power and makes other geo units stronger. @@rendition55 "it still doesnt change the fact that Bloom teams have higher usage now" - And that's a good thing that we have a new team archetype. But my comment was about character usage rate. Navia being a crystallize booster instead of just boosting crystallize on its own still leaves other characters usage rates in the dust. And giving a new character one of the alternate geo reactions given in this video wouldn't bring the geo characters up unless they reacted with geo in a special way but their own element was the other element so you are forced to bring a different geo character alongside them. But I suppose that is possible. Nilou is hydro instead of dendro "Bloom, viable? Ittou without Gorou? Come on, man. - Viable compared to other options? No. But can you do them? Yes. There's not even such a thing as a crystallize focused team. You may as well stick 4 shielders on a team. "It's newer units that create new synergy, not new systems." - New systems can create new synergy too. Dendro reactions weren't just new units. They were new systems and new units. The change in hydro and geo resonance were new systems. Barbara is a downgrade compared to Kokomi. You don't need a single, big, team-wide heal. If its really necessary, you can heal off field teammates with Kokomi with a bit of field time. Your team is less likely to get on the verge of death with Kokomi being there. Kokomi has better healing uptime and a larger amount of healing overall. She also has less self-application of hydro, better energy generation, higher personal damage, and can take larger hits without dying. "It wasn't the Pnemousia system or just HP manipulation in general, it was a singular character who consildated the roles and now branches outward to new possible team buidling." - That's what happened, yes. But that's not the only way to do it. They could have made the new weapon effects stronger for instance. "Even if geo gets an overhaul (which it won't), it'll be a new unit who consolidates that power" - I'm not contesting what Mihoyo is likely to do. I'm just saying what I think should happen.

Geo could solidify the elemental auras instead of having a proper reaction. You would create a geo-fyed aura, similar to quicken with dendro or frozen with cryo, and when you do a reaction, you keep the element stored as an aura. So you add 0.5U of the reacted element instead of removing elements with geo. It can help replacing double element teams to one + geo basically. Also could do some interesting things for proccing multiple reactions more consistently. For example, having a hydro and dendro aura, it lets you do vape and burgeon at once, while skipping burning entirely. You fix geo and burgeon at once heh Would be nice to have some shenanigans with overload chaining too. I think it can make currently weaker reactions much stronger and versatile. Alternatively, a play about geo constructs which seems to be a gimmick forgotten by hoyoverse sadly. Create crystallized constructs that pulsate and do the infused element damage. But that's kinda swirl with extra step. We don't really need a defensive reaction IMO

Going off of what @meltzerchaos6441 said: Crystalize reactions when used on a shield does more shield break damage depending on your em. While you guys may think that having insane levels of shield break might be a bit much, it still needs to be very strong because building em on geo units is inherently a huge dps loss as most geo units scale off defense nowadays and forcing ur dps to drop damage for utility means the utility in question has to be very strong and worth it. A reaction that is very strong at low em levels and then severely levels off would lead to a more intuitive reaction. Let’s say every 100 is 50% faster which means by 200 u are x2 faster at breaking shields and at 400x you have 3x. After 400 it severely levels off to where u need double the previous em number to get another 1x so you would need 800 em to have 4x and 1600 for 5x. This means that if you want a dedicated shield breaker you can get that by building the character full em, but if you just want maybe like 200 em or so to reach the 2x faster shield breaking so geo isn’t effed over by shields in abyss. Basically it 1. allows your geo dps to be stronger vs shields without needing to sacrifice their damage for it (just get some em from subs) and 2. It gives geo supports extra versatility in shield breaking allowing them to finally have viability outside of niche teams like mono geo, walnut, and hyper geo xiao. This change also inherently buffs physical teams as they already kinda had a extra slot anyways and the shield break is very much needed for them to compete with other teams

I think 3.3 is the best without changing too much existing mechanics. Also if adding Dendro to reaction, maybe it could be a healing crystalize type.

this is only my opinion Idea 1 seems just like 4pcs Archaic Petra set, we can just have the idea 1 if the set passive can be triggered using any characters not just the wearer making it another great supportive set like the anemo Viridescent Venerer set. Idea 2 res shred is going to be valuable as we only have the said anemo Viridescent Venerer set to get elemental shred, but for avoiding redundancy, I think def shred is a bit better as we don't really have much def shred sources, only a few can shred de and most of them are constellation exclusive. the dendro+geo reaction should exclude flying enemies as they can affect larger mobs and let's say can affect bosses for far less duration to balance it with freeze as freeze cannot freeze bosses, also root should be able to immobilize enemies with innate element as if a pyro slime or cryo slime would not be affected with freeze root reaction should also not emit dendro aura for balancing reasons. blind is also a bit useless as geo units are supposed to be "resilient" and making enemies target randomly is counter intuitive as you built shield just to not get hit, also since it was with anemo, it would only be beneficial with non crowd controlling unit as the enemies are most likeley won't be able to attack if they are up in the air with venti's vacuum and this might get in the way of swirl reaction itself well even if they don't rework the reaction, we still have a chance for the element to get stronger via a new character or a new geo artifact we have seen how nilou modifies the bloom reaction itself and we have gorou acting as 3 unit geo resonance. there is a chance to have a new character that might change how geo works

Neat lil Geo idea I came up with: So Geo is supposed to be THE defensive element, right? Meant to build a huge wall of defence and slowly crush the enemies. Geo Traveler even makes a wall with their burst, yes? So what if crystallize made these same walls instead? In my proposal Crystallize now does the following: Creates a small gem on the field. If collected within 3-5 seconds, you get the same shield as always. If not collected, the gem will grow into a wall of crystals, with hp equal to the em of the Geo character that created it times 200 + Defense times 2. These crystals would be treated as Geo constructs and would restrict enemy movement and projectiles like normal, but allow infused attacks to go straight through walls of their own type. Example: pyro crystal wall will let amber charges shot go through, but will block childe charged shot. Geo attacks can go through any gem wall. this turns Geo into a crowd control element with a different feel from anemo. Anemo forces the enemies to group up together wherever you want, while Geo restricts the enemies movement while letting your own attacks through. At the same time, I propose a new challenge for spiral abyss: defend target for x amount of time from a wave of unending enemies. This would incentivize more defensive play, and in the process let Geo actually use its defensive prowess to its full effect. I would also remove the arbitrary limitation of only 3 geo constructs at a time because the idea of a Zhongli pulse resonating off like 20 constructs and one shoting something is amazing. Also give more characters petrify, having a whole status condition be limited to one move on one character is weird.

Combining Dendro and Geo should create a new reaction: Fossilize. When fossilised, all enemies deal decreased damage and small enemies are immobilised, Fossilize is a separate aura from Dendro. Fossilized targets take slightly increased damage from Geo and Heavy attacks (1.1-1.15). Applying Hydro or Anemo to a Fossilized enemy triggers Erode, which amplifies the damage of the Hydro or Anemo attack by a small amount (1.1-1.15). Important to note: Erode only consumes a small amount of Fossilize aura and enemies cannot be Fossilized until the entire Fossilize aura times out or is depleted. Bonus: Applying Geo to a Dendro Core causes an explosion dealing Geo damage to surrounding enemies and allies. Applying Anemo to a Dendro Core pulls in surrounding enemies and applies Anemo to them.

Ill give you my perspective, my 2 main teams are mono geo(3 Geo, 1 element) and my second team is 3 elements, 1 Geo; that second team will sometimes run 2 Geo. Let me first mention that this is the perspective of someone that exclusively plays Geo and only has elemental units because of exploration/events and i understand these geo conversations are for the average player that doesnt stick to a niche like i do. Your changes would make Geo insanely overpowered, lets just start this by saying that the DPS for my mono Geo is obviously Itto, each Charge attack is(based on the 1 element unit i chose to bring) between 80k to 100k damage and the skill is between 200 to 300k damage. He has 0 issues to kill any of the floor 12 regardless if the boss has an elemental shield or not. Thats only because i only focus on my Geo units and their build is min maxed, he uses Gouro and Albedo as his other 2 Geo and Mona as his element. The EM change you mentioned, Geo crystalize lets me play without ever needing a healer, i honestly dont have a single 5 star healer built and the healer my second team uses is Shinobu so not one that can heal the entire party at once. The benefit of crystalize is that it does not need a healer, i know you called the shield weak but it doesnt need to be strong, its enough plus Geo realiably has high defense + resistance to interruption because Gorou exists. I disagree with the Geo + Dendro reaction change, Dendro is already too aggressive since it can basically react twice with one application, my second team uses 1 Dendro unit and if i decide to put Albedo into that team i now need to not apply Geo before dendro so Geo can crystalize because Geo has a hard time crystalizing once Dendro gets applied. I agree with the Archaic petra change but it will add what i call home work to rotations, lets look at Yun Jin who was designed to be ran with other elements, she has trash geo application, to make archaic petra work with her you will need to think about when to use her skill to crstalize the correct element you want to enhance so you dont mess it up, and fit her in the correct order to put out any other buffs before the main dps comes out. Noelle also has trash geo application as an off fielder. As for the absolute change to crystalize into these other new reactions, i fully disagree. The great thing about Geo is that i can ignore healers, i understand i play with a niche and i always do. That niche rejects healers, and Geo is the perfect element for me, it doesnt matter if im fighting rift hounds or if i am at 1 HP, i will always have a crystalized shield even in the mono Geo team because its the main reaction happening and im still doing 100k charge attacks; im actually planning on replacing Mona with Furina because of this gimmick, it doesnt matter if she drains the teams HP to 1 when they will always have a crystalized shield. The offensive changes people mention are for these content creation 1 million snap shots people like to use as a benchmark but realistically if you dont pull it off its probably a bad build anyways. Its better to simply just have the crystalized shards be reworked to be "Unstable" and explode like dendro cores and that gives the actual shield a dual purpose. Navias "leaked" kit sounds interesting but if it simply just shots the shard for geo damage its gonna be generic, if the shot applies the element you crystalized she will make the geo element interesting for players that dont main it. Also, if he skill doesnt reliably appli Geo, she will need a geo applicator to consistently apply Geo, this will now add the "Geo Applicator" mind set to the average player if they decide to play her.

Make Geo and Physical one of the same- as well as giving it a way to act as a supportive element to Anemo since Anemo is a support element itself. Geo + Pyro = Molten. Molten deals elemental damage in a small area around the target and increases damage taken from the next Geo instance by 175% for 3 seconds. Geo + Electro = Ground. While an enemy is grounded, they take 20% longer to make attacks. Grounded enemies take x110% damage from Electro and x175% from Geo. Geo + Physical Attack = Rupture. Special reaction for Geo alone. Enemies affected by Geo will be ruptured, taking 50% more from the next physical instance every 2.5 seconds. Geo + Cryo = Crystallize Geo + Anemo = Sandstorm. Deals (10-25% elemental mastery) physical damage in a HUGE area (The activator's EM and Physical Damage bonus is calculated for this.) Can turn into Snowstorm, Firestorm, Thunderstorm or Rainstorm.

I wanted a reaction between dendro and geo, it only makes sense since Geo is Earth and Dendro represents plants

It should work as like Bloom as a Trigger Reaction, with one Reaction for each Element. Crystallize gets created when Geo DMh hits an other Element , this includes from now on also Anemo and Dendro Crystallize logically for finally making congruent game design for gods sake MHY... Crystallize as Effect gets completely overworked in order to work finally good with EM also, so that EM finally becomes a worthwhile Stat for Geo Characters. Crystallize Effect = Increases your DEF based on your EM. Every point in EM means = +3 points DEF Increase. While you have Crystallize Effect on, your Critical Hits turn into Breaking Hits, which ignore 25% Enemy DEF additionally and are significantly more effective in destroying Shields and Auras. Breaking Hits will also decrease an Enemies "Break Bar" if a Break Bar gets completely reduced to 0, the Enemy will get into the Break State, that will interrupt any enemy from what its doing, and stun it for some time with guaranteed critical hits and increased Crit DMG Bonus. Due to the fact, that most Geo Characters scale with DEF so far, makes this way Crystallize very useful for Characters like Albedo, Noelle, Itto and soon also Navia, while other non DEF Scalers wont profit as much frot it, but it makes them at least take lesser DMG, which is for a rather squishy Ningguang good and Zhongli is already good enough, more DEF makes hm just more tanky as more DEF means takign lesser DMG n taking lesser DMG means, your shields can tank more hits. Electro > Magnetism > Pushes and Pulls targets around/together for Crowd Control and Crowd Defense, Gap Closing/Causing Hydro > Mud > Attack/Movement Speed Debuffing for Passive Crowd Control of fast moving/attacking aggressive enemies. Pyro > Smoke > Stealth/Targeting Control, Crit Rate/Crit DMG Support from attacking out of surprise. Cryo > Fragility > Defense Debuffing/ Shield/Aura Destruction Efficiency Increase Dendro > Poison > Passive Dendro Damage over Time that punishes Movement Anemo > Swirl > AoE Geo Damage logically thats missing since Day 1 After that needs Physical a Rework to integrate it into the Reaction System with the help of "Weakness" as a Trigger Reaction that works like Bloom and Crystallize, just with the different, that its applicated simply by attackiong and hittign a Target often enough with physical hits. Doing 1 Round of NA Strings that hit all the target should cause Weakness to a target. The difference is, Weakness doesn't steal the Reaction, its a SIMULTANOUS Reaction with the next Element that hits, which does then its usual Reaction. And lastly needs Swirl then to get buffed slightly, to have elemental based side effects based on which Element got swirled, Rework Enemy/Combat System by giving Enemies finally a Stamina Bar so and let them dodge attacks too to make combat more interesting, so that enemies can be little lesser HP sponges, able to dodge n block your attacks at the expense of using up their Stamina. Pyro Swirlds "Heatwave" Effect coudl cause Enemies to lose with their Attacks then Stamina, in order to exhaust faster. Anemo stays then the only Element that has only 1 Reaction, but is therefore then the only reaction with 6 different variations, making it this way very unique, based on of Anemo got swirled with Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, Electro, Geo or Dendro together.

does the first idea have ICD? bc with how you describe it, it's going to buff every hit during the buff

Yes, every hit would have the buffed effect, as long as the shield is active. This is why I suggested a very low multiplier bonus. Ideally, to account for the extra shielding, the overall DPS bonus of the first Crystallize idea should be less than Aggravate and Spread’s average DPS bonus

If all else i hope they make shatter a realistic reaction. If geo is about to drown, shatter is already at the bottom of the sea. What sucks is that it scales off em and no claymore user scales with em that does physical damage and the only ones that would use it is eula, freminent, chongyun and razor so em scaling wouldnt make sense. I think the best way to scale it is base the damage on the enemies current hp a flat 10% and for enemies who cannot be frozen the reaction instantly procs rather than needing a claymore user. By making it scale off enemy hp it allows different character who scale off hp or att to still utilise that reaction without compromising so much to invest into em. If it did scale off em, it should do 5% enemy hp as base damage and additional 2.5% per 100 em. It wont be as rewarding for lower hp mobs but for harder mobs it would be a game changing amount of dmg assuming you could consistently apply frozen then shatter it. Maybe the % numbers could change abit but this what ive always thought if i made a rework to shatter. The % dmg is fairly low because you gotta consider the other reactions going on and the damage they also do to make it more balanced.

I think reworking Crystallize with a new set of reactions would make a great promotion material for releasing Geo Characters, especially if tied to a rerun of Geo characters like Albedo, because I cannot see an Albedo Re-run right now bringing any real profit by itself. There are also rumors that Navia's kit will use crystallize reactions for things other than just getting a shield, but if she isn't becoming a "Geo Nilou", her only appeal will be her Archon Quest appearance and her being waifu material, and considering she'll come after Furina, where most people will spend their wishes, it will hamper her sales even further. I especially likes your idea of Magnetize and Dendro Roots and Sandstorm, because they aren't tied to Damage or Defense but Crowd Control, but not stealing Anemo's limelight. They don't even need to change crystallize if those reactions were added. If they didn't want to remove the electro crystallize, Magnetize could be an anemo+geo reaction instead. This would also make teams that never existed before being worth considering, such as Dendro+Geo Version of Ayaka Freeze with a new Dendro character that works like Ayaka, applying tons of Dendro(Especially on Burst), but not as fast so they don't become a Spread Main DPS or a Dendro Driver for Nahida's E. There could be a "Magnetize Venti", whom ties enemies together like Nahida's E and maybe even sharing elements too among enemies, so you could build some "Taser team" with completely different mechanics, as instead of Electro-charging and CCing with Anemo, you are "magnetizing" with Anemo and Geo, or Electro and Geo. You could even have a Geo Kazuha. One problem I have with Hoyoverse is how they refuse to buff characters like they did with Zhongli or rework things when it's clear the thing doesn't work. For Example, Xinyan and Dehya clearly need a rework, and just some small changes would make them not only viable, but desirable for a meta player. It's the same for Crystallize. We ain't in shield impact no more, and even back then, crystallize shields were garbage. An Abyss mage's elemental shield is way more powerful than this crap we got.
