Rey is without a doubt the best Luchador/Cruiserweight in the history of this business, there have been other many amazing worker’s but Rey always had the edge on them, the Mask, the crazy athleticism, the likable character, everything was perfect with Rey imo

The other guys were good. Eddie was AMAZING. However REY?!?! Rey was PHENOMENAL. He did moves WCW television that was never seen before on live nationally broadcast wrestling shows in the United States. He SINGLE HANDEDLY brought the lucha libre style of wrestling into the American mainstream. Mind you, Eddie and Benoit and psychosis and juvi and Jericho were all having CLASSIC matches in the ring but it was in Japan, it was in Mexico, it was everywhere else except the USA and Canada. Rey is responsible for bringing that to us in America. Why? It’s because he NEVER had a bad match under that mask. Every time Rey was on TV, he KILLED it. I recently rewatched a world war three match with Eddie and ultimo dragon and it was not great. Their timing was off the pacing was not there and it came off as awkward. Go watch it. Ww3 from 1996 I believe, and if not ww3 it was starrcade of that year. I’m watching these two greats and I was thinking “damn, how did I not see how mediocre this match was at the time?” I watched that live on ppv as a teenager and I didn’t see it at the time just how clunky and off they were in the ring. With Rey, you NEVER saw that. The Halloween havoc match with Eddie is still a 6 star match to this day and I don’t know a modern match that could stand up to that right now. Rey is on par with (if not greater than) el santo as the single greatest largest all time best luchador that ever existed.

Rick Steiner as a kid I always saw as a lovable character. Hearing other wrestlers talk about him, dude loved to fight and legit had brick hands that would put people to sleep.

@Mauricio Ramos I never said Rey wasn't popular. Only that WCW WASTED his talents and the talents of guys like Eddie Guerrero. Most of the smaller guys never got a shot in WCW like Chris Jerrico. That angle where we was using obscure rules from the rule book to keep the cruiser weight title was hilarious. They all had to come to the WWE to get a chance to be main event talents. How is this so hard to understand?

Rey was one of the main reasons I watched WCW. The Undercard was Everything. Eddie, Jericho, Raven, Saturn, Juvi, Alex and Konnan always kept me entertained. But towards the end of WCW (99-00) I went to see their Phila show and it wasn't good. Those Thunders were brutal.

For anyone who hasnt seen it ... I recommend "Prince Puma vs Rey Mysterio" from Lucha Underground. Its video-game bullshit match that is actually well done with drama, story telling & selling. One of the best matches of the last decade ... Up there with "Cena vs Punk MITB 11"/ "The 20202 RR match" & the best Lesnar matches.

Say whatever you want about Disco regardless of what anyone thinks he has a great mind when it comes to soaking in wrestling knowledge. Majority of the stuff he talks about based off his experiences throughout his career seem legit. At first he came across to me as if he was being bias but when I got to listen to him more especially during full shoots/episodes he shares a lot of interesting stories and details that make me look back in hindsight and get exactly what he's talking about or make some sort of logical sense/give me a better understanding of the business or events that took place. I can def see why he managed to last as long as he did throughout his WCW days.

Even if I respectfully disagree with some of his takes, I've always been down with Disco. When I first watched WCW in the mid 90s as a kid (before I was a casual wrestling fan), I thought Disco was such a great and fun character that I was addicted to doing his dance and singing, "Disco Fever, Disco Fever, yeah yeah yeah yeah!"

No disrespect to Scott cause obviously he is a beast but even as a kid watching nitro and they would show Big Poppa Pump with the huge genetic freak muscles but then I would see Rick come to the ring shoulders and arms as thick as tree trunks and fists the size of cinder blocks and not screaming about how strong he was or anything like that and I would think Rick is definitely the brother you need to be more worried about putting you to sleep which would explain why they had no problem sending him out on tv to go after Tank Abbot 😂😂

I did a small bar show in Chillicothe Ohio one night that had like 15 people there. 3-4 guys in the front row were heckling the boys all night and calling their stuff weak. I got out there and, after shining up my babyface, sat in a chin lock for about five minutes staring right at those guys. Got a huge pop from the boys and those guys didn’t say shit for the rest of the night. So yeah, small shows are way worse. You’re more intimate with the crowd which makes it way harder to ignore the bad eggs.

I was an announcer for an indie in Columbia, SC and we booked Rick several times. Rick is a weird dude. Sometimes he just likes to mess with people for no reason. Well he tried to mess with a guy named Vordell Walker and Rick got punked out. Twice.

The thing with Omega can be attributed to AEW as a whole company: WASTED POTENTIAL. Omega has been improperly showcased his entire AEW run. - Being put in the tag division a few months into the company’s start. - His exposure as a dreadful promoter during his World title run, despite having a manager that could put him over better. - Returning from injury to team with the douchey and severely unlikeable Young Bucks. - Reuniting the VERY underwhelming Elite earlier this year. - Consistently getting put into “faction warfare” with the indie garbage comedy Elite gang, vs groups led by Jericho and then Moxley. If Tony Kahn was an actual Booker. He would have put Omega as a top, SERIOUS main event player from the start and kept him FAR away from all the multi-man tag and Young Bucks comedy B.S. It devalued him, & some wrestlers need to be saved from themselves. In New Japan, Omega had a guy like GEDO who, positioned Kenny as a top singles wrestler with great build-up. In AEW, he literally regressed to all his silly DDT and PWG comedy silly mess. That is not the Omega that people wanted to see on Tv. I’m sorry… But The Bucks, Excalibur, and all those jokesters who thought it was better to book AEW with the indie comedy over the classic wrestling that Cody was proposing… well, those clowns were wrong. And unfortunately for AEW, the clowns are the ones still around… 🤷🏻‍♂️

WWE was what..give or take 1950? Of course WWE is more well known, is that the part that's confusing you? And saying AEW doesn't draw yet was receiving higher ratings than NXT which is, you guessed it WWE. But more than Smackdown, which airs on network compared to AEW on cable, then no. As more network shows have higher ratings than cable shows
