About Wasteland 2 Directors Cut:
Wasteland 2 is Post Apocalyptic, Tactical Role-Playing Game from inXile Entertainment. A sequel to the classic RPG Wasteland [a 1988 post-apocalyptic computer role-playing game] which was the predecessor of the more widely known Fallout series. In Wasteland 2 you control a group of four Desert Rangers and up to three Non-Player Characters. The game pits you against the hard wastes from the onset; you will have to use your wits, brawn, smack talking and well explosives to make your way through.
This new, 'Directors Cut; version improves the graphics, UI, adds additional voice over work, a more refined combat system and much much more.

Only halfway through the video and I already feel that I understand a ton more about this game. I've been looking up guides all day and I've ended up more confused than I started. Great video! Came back to this game after having put 180+ hours into the Early Access and (a rather unpolished) release version. Thought I might check up on the changes for the Directors Cut and boy was I right about that. Again: great video, this helped me A LOT. Smooth voice and good information. Luck is a pretty good stat if you create a melee character. I created it with a lot of strength, luck and speed so it could go straight to the front line of the battlefield, be the main target and avoid many bullets and go berserk to anyone close. It also helps against people with range because they run away fro you to get a better positioning but they also lose action point in the process (sorry for the bad english)

Very helpful as were other videos was kinda overwhelmed by the sheer number of things. I am not min maxing too much. I have a brawling healer, cause i just really liked the idea of a bar fighting doctor, but this really helped explain a good foundation for what i wanted and needed

Fallout, the one that actually came out of original Wasteland, was isometric as well. Fallout 3 and later ones have less and less in common with original Fallout.

I started playing this game on PS4 yesterday, i was overwhelmed with the skills then later with the peks. I had a basic idea, similar to yours, but I took too many skills on two characters. That's the problem with the game. You shouldn't need to examine spreadsheet and do a lot of research to play the game. If you choose the premade rangers, there is little explanation of how things work. Most of the attributes only add a few percent difference anyway. There is no reason they couldn't do a better job of conveying the basics. You can muddle through and work things out, but it detracts from the experience, (there is a very nasty trick they pull when you get to the Canyon of Titan if you chose a particular follower) I would disagree about replay value though - like most RPGs there really is little difference at the end, and the world is very static. Once you know what you are doing, the game becomes much easier.

Man that was great always nice to see other peoples builds and core groups but i ave to say not taking a medic in the beginning never did that well with the directors cut i might as well try it :D you got a new sub from me.

+Brainman234 You really don't need a Medic right out of the gate; once you level up you can toss a 1 Surgeon and 1 Field Medic on someone in your core four to increase you sense of security; I have certainly done that before :D Oh and welcome to the channel!

I played with prebuilt characters except for main character initially with seasoned difficulty and I had a hard time defeating the lizards. Only Angela deth was performing well. I had to load multiple times to fight the robots. PS: you're a genius. I am gonna try to build a balanced team and play again.

Im currently doing a play through and i can tell you if you have 4 melee characters with jinxed and 10 luck you'll never run into problems in combat

Thanks for this Party Build tutorial - I was aware that the previous WL2 "all max int" party guides were going to be well out of date with the DC rebalancing. I am also particularly looking forward to both the Combat Intro and First Hour videos since I will be joining the large influx of new players the DC should bring.

I actually have another question - since none of your starting party have ANY medical skills at level 1, when in the level progression do you start buying those Surgeon and Field Medic skills on the chart?

+Daniel Coffey Great question! Low level medical skills will first be taken on the 'Skill Guru/Monkey' character and will be done so on the first promotion. Until then, we will need to keep ourselves from getting killed I suppose :D I think why I am doing this will become more clear once I put out the 'First Few Hours' video, highlighting what I suggest doing for your first few hours of play. You end up picking up this NPC who will become the 'doctor' fairly early in the game, so just a few points in the medical skills on another character until you do is fine. Hope that made sense and thanks for watching! :)

+Mal yeah you're right the doctor NPC is worth getting and figures in many quests, so there's really no point in wasting many points by duplicating those skills on a PC. Nice vid. Subscribe.

I know this video is a little old but some comments that might help new players: - You want your leadership character to be in the middle of the action so that everyone get the bonus. Shotgun users tend to be close to melee range so your snipers might be outside of the leadership radius. I would advice to give the assault rifle to your leader. If you really want to use shotguns i would advise to give them to a character with the medic/surgeon skill. Characters in the fron line tend to take much more dmg. - The best gun for an ap monkey is the sniper rifle. Two snipe shots are much more damaging than 2 assault riffle ones and easier to land. Snipers dont have to move around that much in combat so you can sacrifice speed for coordination and awareness. You can also lower strenght because they tend to be targeted less. The brittle bones quirk also works wonder on a sniper for the same reason. Thats a quirk an assault riffle user really cant take to boost his ap further. - Since you already plan to have an npc with energy weapon, i advice to plan your character to have at least one of them with the handgun skill (or any other weapon than energy). Energy weapons are probably the worst in the game (along with the heavy ones)

Looks like some important typos in the Quirks as well as a Quirk rebalance are in the pipeline which may affect our starting parties. Some details from Sear are in the WL2 - Gameplay - Useless Quirks thread.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll check it out. Lots to digest for a newbie, but I'm not complaining. Nice to see a console port that isn't dumbed down.
