AR Rahman's first movie Roja deserves Oscar, that's how genius AR Rahman is. I have been listening to AR Rahman from 25 years and I still wonder how he was able to do all the hits like Roja, Rangeela, Taal, Lagaan, Slumdog millionaire, Yuvvraj, Bhrateeyudu. Every song that AR Rahman's composes is beautiful. RGV knows AR Rahman is a genius, he just needs some publicity nothing else.

Don’t listen to this guy 😂😂 ila ayithey arr won’t win so many awards for copy songs. This is like: "నేను సగం హోంవర్క్ చేసేసా అన్నయ్య. నేను అమ్మని హాస్పిటల్ కు తీసుకెళ్తున్న. మిగతా సగం నువ్ చెయ్యవా." ARR had no time to work on the tune and May be had asked Sukhwinder to embrace the tune. That’s it. Moreover note that ARR didn’t give money to Sukhwinder after winning Oscar award. He gave when he decided to use the tune for Slumdog Millionaire. How that’s for a gentleman. @@test-wc9hr AR is shining coz he is a mix of talent and business. We know they both shined well independently. Harris gave twice or trice more hit songs than AR in the 2000s after parting from him. No one's discrediting AR's talent here but he does hire ghost writers even now. This applies for background scores as well where these days he doesn't even do 30% work in some films.

I would advise we do not take RGV too seriously - he's notorious as a trickster and mischief-maker. Sivamani is one of India's top drummers, if not the number one drummer. His musical resume is one of the most impressive anywhere. Thaman works with Sivamani a lot, and he's not stupid to do that. The fact that an ordinary listener cannot tell Sivamani's work from that of any other drummer just means that most people are not musically literate and that Sivamani influenced all modern-day drummers. Most people cannot tell the difference between directors either. RGV's overriding concern is can he cut corners and reduce budgets to almost nothing, which means never working with any technician at the top of their profession if he can achieve good enough results with newcomers or amateurs - good enough as he sees it. This has actually produced some undeniably excellent camerawork or music - I would cite Vangaveeti as an example, but also some very poor films. Speaking from the outside, all we can say is RGV should keep doing whatever he's doing but his approach cannot be universally adopted by the top filmmakers and the biggest films being made. Small films have no choice but to work with budding technicians anyway so do not need this advice.

@@tylermoore4429 Great comment. For the kind of small budget movie that RGV makes, he may not need top technicians since his movie is all about story and not about aesthetics. But, for other big films, you need top technicians to handle the production.

Jai ho is Rahman's song only. He did that in Tamil earlier two three years back. The song name is Ella pukazhum iraivan iraivanukke (All glory goes to God) for the Vijay movie Azhagiya Tamizh Magan.

@@RunningWalking12 he said that, subhash ghai signed rahman for a film. Rahman has a habit of delaying a lot in giving songs/music. When subhash got serious nd asked Rahman about the song. He asked Subhash to visit Sukhwinder. Nd in the background Rahman spoke to Sukhwinder to compose a song nd keep it ready to be given to subhash. When subhash visited Sukhwinder, he was given Jai ho tune. Nd he told rahman asked to compose and give this song. Which subhash didn’t like for his film. He told rahman v r paying u 3 crores for u to compose. How can u ask some other guy to compose song. Rahman later had an argument vth subhash . Later rahman took this song from sukwinder after gng to Tamil nadu. Nd used in his films. Paid a royalty of 5 lacs to Sukhwinder too. That’s wat he s telling

As a part time music producer rgv chappina prathi point one side of view nundi correct but what he doesn't know is even in digital music production it takes lot of time for making a music track as it follow equalizing, mixing, mastering etc , etc,. In reality digital music production is more harder than live music recordings. So its the payment for time and skill than the technology.

Sukhwinder's own experience about jai ho. Clowns shut up now "I felt that Rahman deserved this award a long time ago. When I heard the songs from Bombay, Rangeela, Roja, I had told him that his songs are at par with the international ones. I told him that he should win a Grammy. But he didn't care for that. I had told him again during Dil Se and again when I sang the original version Thaiya Thaiya [in Tamil]. Rahman was upset and asked me what is international. Now see, where he is today. I called him after the Golden Globes and told him that 'this is international.' He started laughing. I am happy that Rahman at last got the long deserved award. On Jai Ho When I first heard the lyrics of Jai Ho I thought they were marvellous. I can only sing well if the song has good poetry. And Gulzarsaab had done a good job. During the recording, I almost started dancing when I was singing. I sang the song three times as I was enjoying and wanted to improvise more and sing it many times. But Rahman asked me to stop. Rahman said the song is naughty and now you are also getting naughty! He told me that now you have started playing with the song! When I first heard Jai Ho after the recording, I did not like it much and I told him about it. He told me that the songs should sound like as though a live band was playing the song. I understood that Rahman was experimenting with this song. And we can't deny the fact that this song is the most happening number now, though I feel that he has done better songs before Jai Ho!

subash ghai praised a r rahman on various instances, if arr was so rude to him, will a legendary director like subash dedicate his time to appear in shows praising arr and also if sukhvinder is so good at composing songs why would he remain a singer and work for a lot less money.sukhvinder is not credited with the composition of a single song. will arr become what he is if he doesnt even appear for recording of his own songs. arr even sings and plays instruments at each and every audio functions of his till date ( take atrangi re for example)

Arey babu many lyricists while writing songs they give basic tune or hum for few songs but that doesn't mean the lyricist is the composer. Ar rahman is a maverick he doesn't need anyone's credit. Rgv looks at only one side of the spectrum and gives his opinions and anchor doesn't have a sense to dig deeper into his answers with questions. When you get overwhelmed by any person you don't try to analyze their answers because you stuck in that awe and whatever he says you will take it as it is.. Asking a question may give you an answer but questioning an answer will give you an insight.
