Maybe the energy was dialed down a little because Link was feeling unwell. I know when I have a cold it's a lot harder to get excited! It did make for a more calm, cozy feeling episode, whatever it was.

I think standardizing the chocolate in the chocolate milk test would have been a better test of the milk differences. Starting with a glass of milk then adding a measured amount of chocolate powder/syrup.

yeah i think due to the very limited shelf access of the lab-grown dairy, it most likely came as a pre-made carton of chocolate milk. so they weren't able to get really "scientifically accurate" w/ it

WOW!!! I Never thought I would see the company I work at featured on an episode of GMM! I work on the Strain Engineering team there, so it is my job to genetically engineer the organisms we use to produce our dairy proteins. We do have a ways to go to compete with authentic dairy products, but we are already making an impact with our products and we are only getting started. The coolhaus brand ice cream in particular is my favorite :)

@@Peaceable Yes, it's all about the formulation honestly. Luckily one of the perks of working there is getting free ice cream, but yeah it is on the more expensive side. Hopefully in future the ingredients will be cheaper.

I think the non-dairy alternative companies have just had more time to perfect their recipes, the lab grown milk is so new, I bet a lot of companies are just treating it exactly like dairy milk and don't know yet how to work with it to make it reach its full potential

Also, this isn't lab grown milk actually. It's just lab grown whey protein added to things. It doesn't have the fats and sugars of normal milk, and most of the products with it are marketed as extreme zero-sugar, zero- sat fats health products, whereas most protein powders, chocolate milks, etc have at least a couple grams of sugar and fats per serving. That's why the ice cream and cream cheese ones were good, but the others weren't. The ice cream and cream cheese products aren't trying to be extreme health products.

Cow milk is the best goat, Camel, yak, any mammal has better milk than lab produced dairy like products could ever imitate. If it doesn't come from a mammary it's not milk plain and simple. You've got nut juice products, lab produced products, and grain produced products.

Should've done plain cream cheese cuz it's very likely the herb and onion did a lot of heavy lifting. It's probably 10x more expensive so they have way better ingredients for the filler to cover up how bad the dairy part is.

So what we've learned here today is that the ingredient types themselves are not the determining factor, the manufacturer is, I think non-dairy and lab grown going neck in neck in so many categories, it's likely we'd see them overtaking regular dairy products in the coming years. cool I guess.

Non dairy stuff is DEFINITELY not good in butters, cheeses, creams, and anything thats not liquid

Yes definitly. As a body builder myself , companies that spent decades making dairy whey protein power has made huge advancements in taste and are super yummy. So of course with their experience and research into taste, their powder would be better
