The Mabinogion, a compendium of tales hailing from Welsh mythology, is chock full of characters who are rather otherworldly in nature. Among the most famous is Rhiannon, an ethereal and magical woman of the Celtic Otherworld associated with horses. Though she is never the main character in any of the stories she features in, Rhiannon's influence is felt throughout the first and third branches of the Mabinogion!

There are five branches of the Mabinogion and they are the Crown Jewels of our Welsh/Brythonic past. Some of the stories are epic and magical ,with tales of the underworld, goddesses, witches etc. Rhiannon is but one of many characters in the ancient folklore that produced the books. We Cymru are very lucky and proud of our rich ,ancient past.

Yes, they are amazing tales of lore that were told to initiates at the time (and now), meant to be meditated upon to find out the true hidden meanings and secrets of the tales. For instance, pywll is the self consciousness's awareness and senses, and bidding intelligence. And Rhiannon is the great divine feminine which would be the powers of the subconsciousness. The tale of the Mabinogion is a tale of the happenings and stages during the path towards enlightenment, much like the Bhagavad Gita in India is a tale of the battle that happened within the consciousness during awakening. These great tales are amazing as they were the ways that master passed down relatable and memorable ways of understanding to the student, from mouth to ear.

Rhiannon sounds like she may not necessarily be an ancient Celt and Druid goddess from Tir-Na-Nog but she may be either a demi-goddess who has either her mother or her father as a deity, or, if not that, she might be a female wizard who is only of either Apprentice-Level or Adept-Level in white magic but not an extremely powerful one who is at Master-Level. She may be immortal and immune to the effects of all diseases, drugs, poisons and toxins, but she is not invulnerable, meaning that she is still not necessarily resistant to all forms of physical injury or if she doesn't have supernaturally-enhanced durability, she still doesn't have the innate magical power to regenerate any damaged or destroyed areas of her cellular structure at an extremely accelerated rate. If she is not immune to physically aging past her prime, then maybe she is just extremely long-lived and ages slower than any normal, ordinary human being. This could explain why her son was supernaturally-empowered with white magic energy, and also even possessing various magically-bestowed powers. This gives me the idea that Rhiannon is a half-human, half-goddess, supernatural hybrid, and her son is a part-human, part-god, supernatural crossbreed. The evil monster that had kept on killing and eating the enchanted horse's babies was probably more than likely one of the Fomor, the evil gods and goddesses from ancient Celtic and Druidic mythologies.

Celtic beliefs don't fully have God's and goddesses like Roman or Greek. They often don't fit the idea we view as God's.

The name Pwyll is pronounced as [pʊi̯ɬ] anf not /pwil/, in Welsh you pronounce ll as if you were to make the 's' sound but with your tongue places where you would pronounce the 'l' sound, and 'w' is often used for the vowel /u/.

This is what bothers me about these channels. They cannot be bothered to look up a pronunciation, which takes just a couple of minutes, so why should I assume that they were bothered to fact check everything presented in the video? Why would I trust anything they say? I recently saw a video where the narrator pronounced Cu Challain as "KOO chu-LAYN." I actually only know the correct pronunciation because of Shane MacGowan and The Pogues, but if I were writing a script for a video about Cu Challain, or anything else I was unfamiliar with, I would take a minute to look it up first.

Favourite part was when he couldn't catch up to her no matter how bard he tried until he simply asked; some good morals to teach people right there. Incels, take note; only way to get a girlfriend is to try talking women n if they want to talk to u then u can inquire if they r looking for a relationship n if so would they consider u. No showings of physical prowess or fancy plans need to woo a girl, just talk to her n hope for the best n learn when u say or do something stupid n don't do or say that again. Real simple yet grandfathers in their 50s can still think it a good idea to sag stuff like (in reference to a bj) "u r so good at that I wish I could just take ur head home with me" 0_o ya, that is a quote from an actual date I've had who thought decapitation would be a turn on for me. Guys, seriously, stop being weird as hell!!!

It is dumb, but to be fair, modern characters are still idiots. Most of a typical story is still often the result of characters making stupid decisions.

To be fair, it was multiple accusers vs a single accused, there wasn't any evidence proving her innocence, and if he didn't find her guilty and punish her in some way people probably would've accused him of favoritism or even claim that she'd brainwashed him with magic or something since the general public was already against her. It wasn't strictly a matter of trust, politics were a factor as well

Thank you for your video.....PWYLL is pronounced more like Pʼwish...The double ll sounds like an airy light sh. Rhiannon has always reminded me of a Faerie Queen, the way she rides in on a white horse wearing brocaded gold silk. She is definitely from the otherworld, perhaps Goddess perhaps Faery.

As a Rhiannon and with ancestry in Wales on both sides of my family back until 1700s, or at least that's as far as I've traced to date, the pronunciations aren't bad but they're not right. There's an O, not an A, before the final N. If you research Welsh folklore in the future, only get the pronunciations from a Welsh person 🙏🙏🙏
