this hour and seventeen min video shows a complete build from start to finish with a detailed analysis of strategy, tools and thought process on how to approach building a seemingly complex shape. Easy enough for beginners, with enough tricks and tips for more experienced users. Enjoy!

Hey, Kyle! Thanks again, love your tutorials! Step by step Rhino starts to make some sense)) Only problem I had following this was Fillet didn't work for me, trying to use ChainEdges it went partially flipped/inverted/broken... But trick with Pipe-Boolean-Blend worked fine. I'm wondering if there is a tutorial showing how to solve those problems with messy surfaces? How to clean bad topology (when control points are fighting each other), why match surface not working because of trims, kinks, why split/merge sometimes doesn't work... etc. In this video you showed few very useful tricks like that Extend Surface not working because of some invisible trim on pipe object. But problem is it is very hard to find answer like "why my Extend surface is not working?". Google will not find this video on such request... Is there some sort of Rhino golden rules how to avoid such problems?

22:50 I've adopted this nifty little script way back, then after an upgrade I lost it. It took me days to find this video and the script burried deep inside.😅

thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it. GH is amazing, if you have a mind for programming, it's incredibly powerful. 10-10 recommend.

@@Rhinoceros3d please try to make 30 minutes video on how to design an 3 wheel electric loader using Rhino. It can be just as a simple layout at initial stage. It will help to know about various tools to be utilized. It will give hint on how to approach the design with different tools available. It will bel helpful on how to convert to line to solid, solid editing, smooth joints or bending, trimm, dimension, printing, etc. Thank you so much from India.

Hi Kyle. Would it be practical or any easier to use subD to do the same project? Considering it's a prototype and not production design. Thanks.

I am 100% all for using what ever tool or workflow works best for you and your modeling task. If I did this in subd, I'd do the base and speaker housing as 2 pieces and then finish them up in Nurbs where I can trim, and fillet.

Why is the Rhino so laggy? I'd expect a smooth navigation if this is an official McNeel Rhino video... My Rhino navigation is sometimes also laggy and I don't know why.
@Rhinoceros3d

I didn't have any lag at all... did it show that way in the video? Lag is most often caused by a video card or outdated video card drivers. Updating drivers is the easiest path. Need more in depth help? hit us up at tech@mcneel.com

Hello! I have a question while I was studying with another Rhino tutorial... He fillet-ed the joints of two objects while those are separate and non-closed objects using Fillet edge. I tried the same but it doesn't even catch the joint which I think is rather natural because it is still two separate objects(not joined)?? His vid is kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nst2dZaqx8C3gas.html and please see from 10:21 Is there any way that I can make the joints softer?? Thank you!! :)

he trimmed them first, but didn't show it.. ;-) if you want to do it without trims, you'll need to use filletsrf, but it does not work the same as filletedge

@@Rhinoceros3dI found that! He must have been boolean union-ed then did the fillet thing! Thank you!!! 🙏 ❤
