Still holds up over time. Great songs, catchy, well produced, great visuals. Dokken was leagues above most of their peers musically. Dokken is still a part of what I listen to.

I got dumped by my gf in 1984, hopped in my ‘69 GTO, popped in Tooth & Nail on the cassette deck and 20mins later after this song looped 4 times, I felt great!! ....I felt even better 3 weeks later when she called me up to cry about missing me and wanting to get back together, while “Just Got Lucky” was playing on the boom box in the background and I said, “nope, I’m breakin’ the chains” .and that’s my love story!! 😂 ....hey, I got bullets to spare!!

Seriously jamming tune...Dokken's first four albums are must haves for anyone into 80's metal. Don Dokken is probably in my top 5 metal singers of the decade. George Lynch was one of the few 80's axemen who could play somewhat bluesy while shredding without it sounding forced. His voice on the instrument is truly unique. Of course, his replacement Reb Beach was no slouch either...but the original lineup was the best for me - Don, George, Jeff, and Mick!

Dude! I saw them at Reunion Arena in I believe '85 (I would have been 16). Having grown up in Longview, our only options were Shreveport or Dallas, and though it was a longer drive, Dallas usually won.

The volcano scenes (2:26 & 4:11) in this were actually filmed in front of a real, active volcano. It started spewing out lava as they were filming and the band barely made it out alive. I guess Dokken "Just Got Lucky". ;)

Sin City Metal Vids was filmed on Kiluea in Hawaii, George's boots actually began to melt. 15 Minutes after the helicopter left the crater summit, Kiluea went into a high fountain eruption. As of now, Kiluea has still been in an eruptive state since 1983.

If I had to pick just one 80s band Id pick Dokken hands down. They were so underrated.Don had the best voice of any frontman of that era.He makes vince neil look like a clown. George is king of the lead guitar and only a handful of men can match his solos.These guys did nothing but make quality music and great concerts while bands like motley crue self destructed but got all the attention.Motley was good up to 84 and shout but after that I moved on cuz they became a joke.Dokken on the other hand just did what they did best.Rocked out and put out great albums till the end.Thanks guys and you are missed.

3:03 is such a classic visual with Don in 3 mirrors. And not sure who wore it better, the Kajagoogoo singer or George, but they both looked great with that hair, that took some guts.

Here in Michigan the winters are long and in the 80's we would go to a concert nearly every weekend. If you didn't go to a concert in the 80's, you will never understand just how loud they were. Or how the bass would smack you in the chest and how your ears would ring for 3 days after. iTunes and earbuds have nothing on living in the 80's. P.S. Dokken opened for Sammy Hagar (I cant drive 55 tour) and it was the first concert I had been to. I still have the ticket stub.
