Debbie Gibson is an amazing artist as a teenager she wrote most of her songs and she was not given the same recognition as Taylor Swift because Debbie Gibson is better than any other young generation of artists today she's a huge artist and talent back in the days together with Tiffany, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Heart, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Gloria Estefan,The Jets, El de Barge, Atlantic Starr and more. Grammys sucks! The 80's era is the best decade of all no nudity, no explicit lyrics, no vulgar words just pure raw and superb talent! Shame on you Grammys. Please bring me back to the 80's the best era of music and movies!😢❤😢❤

This song is an utter iconic 80s song that will no doubt stand the test of time! It totally takes me back to my childhood, and how much simpler life was back then! No internet, there were BARELY any cell phones (Only REALLY rich people had them), still had corded house phones, still used an answering machine (that was high-tech back then! LOL), and no computers in the home! The 80s were truly the VERY BEST DECADE for SOOOOOOO many reasons, and I have no doubt that will never be forgotten! THE 80S ROCKED BABY!!!!

In 1988 I took my daughter to her first concert when she was 9. The tickets cost $20 each and I only had $40. We were standing in line,hoping to get last minute tickets to get in,when a lady came up to us and gave me two tickets close to the stage. So I then had money to buy my daughter a T-shirt ,some pop and candy. Debbie Gibson was only 17 at the time and it was a fantastic show. The last song was ' Foolish Beat' and she rose up from under the stage playing a white piano. A cherished memory. 🤗

@@sonicjrjr14 Exactly? Good catch but I'm pretty sure it's raised an octave or two and at least one cord was inverted. With all the music that's been created over the years it's hard not to have melodies and chord progressions that are similar to others. She may or may not have done this intentionally. Either way it's a good song. All that said this is done in rock and metal music all the time. Music is nothing more than merging what's already been done with something new.

I first heard this song was when I was 3 years old with my grandmother. She used to sing this song for me as a lullaby. I was a broken family, yes. And my grandmother was the only family I had. When she died 7 years ago I used to live alone. But when I hear this song I felt like I am not alone. I felt like my grandmother was still with me. This September 26, 2018 I’ll be turning into 22 and still listening to this song. Thank you for this song, at least it helped me scape reality without using drugs. 😩😭😭😭💔💔💔
