It's Friday, so it's time for this week's 'Tea Reads' episode! In this video, I'm joined by my Mum (Donna), and we share our regular Friday routine of a teatime chat about books over a cuppa and a sweet treat we've baked together. In today's episode, Mum and I make one of our favourite easy desserts: rhubarb ripple mini pavlovas. We also chat about some lovely reads inspired by Mother's Day (14th March in the UK).

Hello Miranda and Donna. The Pavlovas are so beautiful. I love rhubarb. My favorite is strawberry rhubarb pie. I hated rhubarb as a child because it was always way too tart. There is a little Mennonite market near us that very often has fresh baked strawberry rhubarb pie. When my husband goes out today, I am going to have him stop and get one if there are any left. The poetry readings today were lovely, especially Little Girl. I wish you both a wonderful, relaxing weekend, and a very happy Mother's Day to Donna. Take care...... Crystal.

Happy Mother's Day to you! I really love to see you both have a laugh together! My mom passed away when I was 18 years old and that was 30 years ago, I still miss her so watching you together is such a joy for me. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirits ❤

this is so wonderful! ready to get a book of recipes by you and your mother when it gets out! :) you should pair recipes with books and your wonderful photography, and traditions and divide it into seasons. What to eat and read and when. I don't think there is a cookbook like that out there ;)

Loved your video, again... I had that kind of relationship with mum, who sadly past away almost 20 years ago, and I have the same kind of bond with my daughter now. Have you ever tried reading Portuguese authors? We have great writers, great poets. I've loved the poem about building a house, or mums being our first loves, or fathers, too. And I love your chair, the one that got painted by your neighbour. Does it gave a name to come with it? May you and your mum have a lovely Mother's day, we celebrate ours on the first sunday in May.

Happy Mother’s Day to Donna and happy weekend to you both! My dad liked its rhubarb raw with salt... 🤢 but my mom was mixing it with strawberries and made delicious cakes! Way better!
