A Rhythm Motif is an effective musical tool to create grooves, fills and rhythm ideas. In this lesson we will take a 3:2 son clave and create various ideas all based off of this rhythm motif. This will be episode 1 of the series.

This lesson on Rythmic Motif is so fresh, relevant, and current to a lot of the music heard on the radio today with drum tracks produced on machines in the studio. And JCM lays it down for us acoustically. You're the best! Can you tell me what hi-hat and two stacks you are using? Thank you.

So glad you dug it! I’m using 14” medium traditional hi hats (byzance) and then the little stack next to it are the Benny Greb crasher hats and the other stack is called the 12” Classics custom Trash Stack. All Meinl. Hope that helps!
