12 minutes of logical instruction without any unnecessary tangents makes it easier to follow. Love it. Also appreciate, as a newbie, the info on using the sustain pedal and not assuming we all know how to use it properly. Thank you!

Underrated af The chord’s progression he uses is from Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ for those who’re wondering. The original goes G, B, C, Cm.

This is one of my favourite tutorials for piano chord rhythm patterns. Firstly he speaks slowly and calmly, gently - so you're not hit with hyped up loud fake enthusiasm - he also progresses slowly and explains EVERYTHING - so you're not left behind. He is a gifted teacher - which is rare in my book. He also has beautiful wide open childlike eyes - giving him a very approachable appearance. With all the bad press on Los Angeles - you might ask - how did something so beautiful come out of LA? Blessings brother.

Ted, I'm a guitarist who wants to learn how to play piano. Sub divisions explained like this has helped me enormously. Most piano teachers on youtube don't get this. They note spell a chord which is important... but more important is the " how " to make it sound like music. You're onto something. How to make chord progressions musical by rhythmically breaking up chords and arpeggios... now your talking. Please expand on this. It is the key to making chords become music... to become a song. Well done mate. Hope you become a big hit on youtube. I've been waiting for years for a teacher such as yourself!

LOL, I'm also a guitarist who wants to learn piano. I don't know why I always thought it would be too hard, but a few weeks ago I suddenly realized I could probably do it. Started considering it more seriously today. I really liked how he compared things to the guitar. That was helpful. Blessings to you on your piano journey!

I can't afford piano lessons so I am one of theose persons who rely on KZfaq to learn, so thankfully there are people like you who are out there gracing people like me. While I am at it, I would also like to say that I have picked up some great lessons from many other teachers on KZfaq but every now and then someome comes along and take me over that next important hump and your lesson on chord inversions just did that for me with extras. These extras are what I was missing for a long time which other teachers either refused, didn't know how to or just didn't care to due to a non paid subscription or lessons and I do understand that. Everyone has to make a living some how. So thanks again for your grace have a blessed weekend

I just want to say Thanks.. Just discovered your channel. Not only a really good video. You have the talent to teach and simplify a concept. I like when you give example of the drum, the guitar. I play piano since 12 years now, about 90 minutes per day, it is my passion, BUT, only improvising since a year . I should have begun improvising a lot sooner. Improvisation give opportunities while playing with lead sheet. I discovered that improvisation help to reduce the stress while playing in a crowd. I was playing in a train station recently in Europe. I decided to improvise. Just playing music in a certain mood. Improvising is less intimidating than playing a song. Thanks again…
