Your reaction to the sawdust is what makes you so entertaining. I love how you pick up on little details and question them even if they have nothing to do with the singer or the song. Keep them coming . I'm obsessed.

The song is part of a prayer where we recognize that G-d is endlessly merciful even though we aren't worthy. The two storyline were: A boy with a hole in his shoe felt sorry for himself until he realized how lucky he was that G-d gave him the ability to walk. The blind man realized how lucky he was when he could see.

This is Hebrew. The meaning of the song is as follows : Not upon good deads could we depend Only on his mercy his love that never ends Although we are not worthy Because hashem (G-d) is kind Hears our prayers Hears our cries As for the language , wrong guess again 🙈. This is hebrew. As for his voice , Beri Weber sang this song as we walked our son down his wedding aisle. He sounded exactly the same live. His voice was not enhanced here. He is incredible You might want to try Simcha Leiner next Another absolutely incredible voice. He’s another name that is top Of the charts in popularity. This one will send chills down your spine kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q85xaMp4xpPbcoU.html

Beri is a natural with being able to be dynamic with his voice. You should check out his live performances at weddings. He does a lot of shtick with his voice to keep you entertained the whole time. He’s one of my favorite live performers 👌🏻

Fun fact: Ribon (which some, including the singer, pronounce or write as Riboin) means Master. It comes from the same root as the word Rabbi. (Keep in mind, that in Hebrew, most root words have no vowels. The root is RB. Sometimes you'll see a Rabbi referred to as a Rav or Rov. B and V are linguistically almost identical. In Hebrew, The same letter represents both sounds. And a Chassidic leader is called a Rebbe.)

The song quotes words from our prayers. A paraphrase (not exact translation) of the song: "Master of the Universe, when we fall in front of you in prayer, we don't presume that you will answer us positively due to our righteousness. We only rely on your great mercy to help us. " I know it's a cliche, but it basically is saying, G-d, we're not worthy.... but we hope you are Merciful. And to clarify, we're saying 'righteousness' with air quotes around the word.

I have you a trick to recognize the difference between Hebrew and Yiddish, most of the time when a song repeats the same few word it’s Hebrew and in Yiddish you will often take a poem of lyrics

I think you are correct about his ability to better express his emotions in his 1st language, Yiddish. ( Technically it's actually Hebrew but he is pronouncing it in the exact same way that he pronounces Yiddish, so it comes naturally). When you're singing in your 1st language, you can put your energy and heart into shaping the sounds. When speaking in a second language (English) especially one in which many of the sounds and vowels are quite different than your 1st language, It's harder to let your emotions soar and shape the words. Don't get me wrong I think he does a Great job in English too. But the way his 1st language flows makes it much much easier.

The boy story does not have to do with the blind man story the song is about God running everything in the world so as you see God is making a boy with old and garbage shoes helping a boy with good shoes in a wheel chair and the young hiker helping the old man in the woods that's the meaning of riboin kol haoilomim God is on top of the universe Anyways thank you great video looking forward for more good stuff I don't want to make it hard on you but I'm going to ask you one more time to react to the song amen al hayeladim sheli by chanan ben ari and it's a live I thing it has 10 million views have a good one😘

I agree with you on the sawdust. The song is beautiful though. Maybe they are father and son in the forest. It's probably a siddur- a prayer book.

I would affirm that it is a siddur/prayer book. one of the daily morning blessings wen say, which is where he pointed, translates as "Blessed are you, our G-d, King of the universe, who gives sight to the blind" Hence the connection of the blind person

In Yiddish--and in Hebrew spoken with a yiddish accent--the "o" sound is pronounced as "oi." So the Hebrew word that he is singing here is "Ribone," but he is pronouncing it as "Riboin." I don't know if you are familiar with german, but if you are, that can help you recognize Yiddish vs Hebrew. Yiddish and German are closely related and share many words or word-roots.

This is from the dialect found in Poland where names of towns went from "Oh" to "Oi" while in Russia and Lithuania, it was the "Oh" became "Ei". The Hasidic Jewish culture, as it stands today, is very influenced by the Jews of Poland who were mostly Hasidic.

I know this is an old video, but I just want to comment on something. Not always will there be a storyline to the music videos. Often in one video you'll see a little of this and a little of that and they're not meant to connect. I don't think the producers put as much thought into it as you do. :) Love your reactions btw!

'Higher' and 'Amillion years' are FAR better (musically and Jewishly) than Brooklyn, which sounds like a tourist commercial or a showtune rather than anything particularly Jewish. (It's not horrible, but like Shulem singing 'piano man', its a Jewish artist singing music which is frankly in no way Jewish. So its nice [if you like it, I actually think its fluff], but it's not a good example or entry into Nissim Black's Jewish music.)

A random guy's 2 cents on the Hebrew vs English switch: There is a difference in tone when singing in Hebrew vs English and many Jewish singers do much of their singing in Hebrew and are likely more accustomed to the natural and cultural tone that comes along with singing in Hebrew.... the style of singing in Hebrew does not always transpose well when switched to English, and the Jewish singers might not always have as robustly a developed style of singing in English than they do in Hebrew, so it doesn't sound as nice.... again just one man's opinion....
