How to smoke ribs on the offset smoker using the Lone Star Grillz Fire management basket. I used the LSG offset smoker for almost 2 years w/o any fire management basket, but now that I have one, I don’t think I could be without in my offset smoker. I don’t know how much it will effect the food, but it certainly makes the Lone Star Grillz offset smoker even better & easier to use.
Lone Star Grillz makes 2 sizes of the Fire Management Basket for their offset smokers so be sure to measure yours to make sure it will fit your offset if you have a different brand offset smoker. If it won’t call Chris & Amber at Lonestar Grillz www.lonestargrillz.com and see if they will fabricate a custom fire management basket for your offset smoker. I don’t get an affiliate link for sales but please tell them I sent you.
Here’s the stuff I used in this video:

The first time I used my LSG fire management basket, I knew instantly that this was a game changer as far as tending to fire goes! I think someone would just have to use it to really know what they are missing. Fantastic looking ribs Justin! I want ribs for breakfast after watching this!

I have thoroughly binged your videos for a month. Wish I had an extra 2k laying around for a lone star grill. They look like quality stuff...gonna have to save up for a xmas present. Already have a Weber Smokey mountain, and a slow n sear on my wishlist. Slownsear May be next on the list not that they are back in stock. Keep making these videos. Really helps as I’m moving from grilling to smoking meats.

Sigmund Freud called and he'd like to have a word with you about your new obsession with hotdogs. But, seriously, great presentation on the basket. I was very impressed on how mine worked during my long shoulder cook. Like you said, had to give it a shake a couple of times, but I was pretty happy with its performance. Great rack you cooked up by-the-way!

Excellent production as usual. Looks like a ‘grate’ accessory. Could almost smell those ribs, keep ‘em coming. What is that comment about Phil?

We lost Phil unexpectedly this week. The bbq community on youtube is grieving for his family.

Thanks Justin, Another great video! I currently use the Yoder YS640 but I’ve been itching to get an offset smoker and don’t know which one to go with. Love the Lone Star grill that you have and I’m guessing, by your comments, that this might be a great choice.

Thomas Farr It’s one of the best made and on top of that it’s one of the better values in it’s class. You can find, “cheaper “offsets, don’t get me wrong, but once you stand side-by-side next to both of them, you see where they cut the corners that Lone Star Grillz just doesn’t do. I can’t recommend it enough.

Thomas Farr However, I would warn you that an offset is a big jump from a pellet Grill. They are a lot of work. It’s fun though

Baby Back Maniac thanks for the reply, I don’t mind the extra work at all. I’m looking forward to the learning curve with the offset and always appreciate it when I can learn from people like yourself and others who have a lot of knowledge to share. I was heading to BBWC in Memphis before it was postponed, It was a present from my wife and I’m totally bummed about not going now. I was hoping to see a lot of offset smokers in action and see the quality of the build. The Lone Star has been at the top of my list and I’m really leaning that way after your video. Thanks again for your reply!!
