Amazing! Such deep calm and yet emotional intensity, all with perfect balance... Makes me feel like I really heard this prelude for the first time. Thanks, Ricardo, for such generous musicianship.

I have heard thus dozens of times from good guitarists but this is the best. Like hearing the piece for the first time.

Me gustó la interpretación de esta obra: sin pretensiones de convertirla en una carrera de arpegios, simplemente disfrutar de cada nota y su armonía.

3/4 Well, and i forgot to tell you Ricardo that you are My favourite guitarist in absolute! i wordship your playing and i mentión always you (also Vidovic...) when IT Is about guitar and Bach; your rendition and video of the BWV998 is ...not superb, then next: IT is bringing the cosmos, the stars...to our world; exactly what Bach did with His music, by enhancing the human spirit to the highness of Cosmos...thank you for your Music maestro R. Gallén! I really like the video of the Bach recordings...it is wonderful

This is my favorite version of this beautiful Bach prelude, but I wonder why he plays it in C# minor?
@thewwemegafan5 жыл бұрын
He plays a romantic guitar so it sounds a halfstep lower. He technically played it in D minor

I think that's what is happening anyway

2/2in your (gallens) bwv998 for instance I quite like it the music and it is my ideal version out of all I've heard in fact; incredibly profound and authentic! there it has some softness may be, some rubato, but not that much? Or because of not having the 'repeated' structure it is more suitable?...well, that was my (constructive if I may) opinion , just it! But great Gallen as always anyway, for sure!!

Maravilloso, aunque se denomina preludio de un minuto, que no es realmente posible en la guitarra (que quedaria en un estudio tecnico). Esta interpretacion tiebe un alma especial. Danke (diria Bach)

1/2Well, it's quite good and thus i have given my 'like', but if may do a constructive critic: - the music; (how dare I say anything to Ricardo Gallen?! glup...) my ideal vision of this prelude, since it is built all over with the same repeated 'figures' , I would imagine them less 'rubato' less 'soft'...it has to me in this version (don't know if the same of the CD recording, that I have ) some-much romantic spirit, that I don't feel it fits the best to (my idea ) of this prelude; it makes the prelude sound like a bit soft...a bit "lánguido", (don't know the translation) while I think of this prelude always like very "solid", energic...); I imagine it more straight, so that it will be the swift of the harmony it self, since the structure of the figures is always the same, that will make the music. One has to go to the deepness and profoundity of this piece (and of Bachs music, it always has it!) , but I don't fully like this soft approach in this prelude;to me it looses the structure

Actually the origin is called “one minute prelude” but in sense of interpretation this is not possible on a guitar (just as a technical exercise) but yes on a cembalo (see Glen Gould for example). So this particular interpretation has interesting spirit which is at least interesting. Bach’s universe is infinite and for sure this interpretation fits perfectly in there.
