Coming from someone who's owned one of these cars for years, this kid has no idea what he's talking about or how to drive apparently? My 5 speed gets up to speed just fine to pass people, handles roundabouts at 40+ mph and with sliding the seats up there's enough room in the back to bone a chick if I want. If you want legroom for passengers don't get a coupe. Very basic work on these cars to get at least 200,000 out of the motor. Mines at 189,000 and still has lots of life.

I have a 2001 civic and I have to disagree with with pretty much everything this guys says. My car is twenty years old and yeah sure I've had to repair some stuff but it's a very solid car!

This was my first car 2001 Honda Civic DX Sedan. I got it as a gift from my uncle who bought it when it was only a couple years old around 2003-04. I whipped tf out that car until the head gasket blew and I just scrapped it. My new car is a 2016 Sentra, great tech and fuel economy compared to the old one but I miss the more mechanical driving dynamics of older cars. Under acceleration, the Sentra's 1.8L CVT powertrain sounds like a lawnmower engine attached to a CD-ROM drive, and the torsion beam rear suspension and electric power steering feel dull and uninspiring.

Ok Ngl I dog tf outta this car and surprisingly the only think I can say is yes it had leaks and my belts ripped off but even with the belts tearing and that stuff it’s still a really good car it’s been a fun first car for me and it has 218k miles and it’s gets up and goes without hesitation

My 02 civic EX auto, was everything you said, wheels could never spin, always leaked everything under the hood, nothing but problems till it caught fire in the garage in the middle of the night, I recently bought an 01 LX 5 speed manual this past summer and everything I needed to do to the old one is already done, the old one was a Vtech and the new one ain't but has power, dump the clutch and it would just sit and spin, its sitting this winter cause it needs the crank turned and new rod bearings, that's the only flaw with the new one, I installed new rod bearings but it spun another one a half mile later.

My civic is on 323000 km

I have the same car with an Injen CAI and I get wheel spin in 2nd when gassing it and make 37 mpg I love it but I hate it because my radiator just blew on me but it’s so cheap to replace but I only have had it for 4 months but it’s just so fun to drive since it’s so small but I’ve almost been ran off the road by dumbasses that couldn’t see me but it’s got so much potential. I see why you feel the way you do
