McClown gets $40M for being fired for being absolutely horrendous at his job and this is a difficult day for him and his family??? I'm sorry but that is an absurdly dumb statement. I was fired from a job, making $20/hour, for spending too much time fixing other peoples mistakes. I had a new baby on the way and had just bought a house...that was a difficult day, this guy will never have to work again if he so chooses...nobody who gets $40M for being fired is having a tough day. If JMD wanted to not get fired and put his family through this he should have done a better job of being the HC of the Las Vegas Raiders.

I don’t think McDaniels wanted AOC to come in and prove it was a bad idea to be playing Garoppolo. He wanted to prove it was him and his play calling that was gonna win games. When AOC would have likely at least kept them in the bears game and probably the same against the Lions. AOC has a good arm and can throw it deep, something Hoyer and Garoppolo both struggle with.

I think a guy like Jimmy needs some easy throws to get going. Everything was too hard with the McDaniels offense. Jimmy's not someone that can throw an early INT and not let it effect him. In the game the other night the Lions had an early third down and five and they motioned a receiver to the right, the corner was slow getting over and Goff hit him for an easy pitch and catch for a first down. Raiders don't even use motion A few weeks ago I heard they were last in the league using pre-snap motion. Offense just looks dated. Hopefully Pierce can modernize it otherwise I don't hold out much hope for the balance of this season.

@jimsaco4334 Concur with your thoughts. And I think that early INT also affected his trust level with Davante. I'm sure he threw that up there just making sure it was over the head of the CB (it was) and that Davante would outfight the safety for the ball, but for some reason, Davante likes to run 20-25 yards downfield before looking back for the ball and by the time he looked back, he wasn't in position to fight for the ball. That mistrust likely led to the 2 poor throws downfield in the fourth quarter where Adams was open. It's not to excuse Jimmy, cause those were two poor throws, but I think the lack of trust definitely played a factor. In some way, Jimmy would have been better off from his confidence standpoint to come to a team without a superstar WR, so that he could build trust with them without feeling the additional pressure to use such a weapon. When he started with the Niners, there were no clear cut weapons (and Kittle was just starting to rev up his career) and that allowed him to settle in. Can't help but think his confidence has to be rattled now...

Seriously, next to Davonte, TO and OBJ are rank amateurs. I don't feel sorry for the guy one bit. He wanted out of GB and could have demanded a trade anywhere and he chose LV. This was the right move. Garoppolo is who he is, and that's all he will ever be. Same with Hoyer, 0-13 in his last 13 starts. The ONLY option here was to make a permanent change and see what the rookie has. This kind of mismanagement of players is why those guys are gone and we have the worst offense in the league. Saying that Garoppolo gave them the best chance to win was an ego statement that "we're doing things my way regardless". I don't think you could have done a better job of ruining a team if you tried. This regime was never about the Raiders, it was about 2 egos that were out of control. I hope this resonates with the players and they can all mentally get right and give their best effort.

will explain why the 49ers moved on from Jimmy. The 49ers finished 13 - 3 in 2019, with no injuries to Jimmy Garoppolo but lost the Super Bowl. The 49ers gave up (3) First round draft picks and drafted Trey Lance. Trey was the future Qb, and Jimmy was supposed to mentor Trey throughout his rookie season. Trey had a season Injury week 2 and Jimmy came in winning 6 games before breaking his foot. When Brock Purdy came in, Nobody expected the last pickof the 7th round to play the way he was playing. When the season ended the 49ers were in a mess trying to figure out who should be the starter in 2024 Purdy with game streak, the high draft pick. Lance or the veteran Jimmy. So the 49ers went with Purdy trading Jimmy to the Raiders and Trey to Dallas.

Jimmy doesn't care. He has a couple rings as Bradys backup. Handsome multimillionaire. When the 49ers ran out of quarterbacks, he was smiling on the sideline. Every team needs a backup. He should retire. Go into tv or broadcasting. At some point, the injuries are too much.
