The Bengals/Ravens make no sense. By default the season opener does a huge rating. You save those games for later in the season to pop ratings when you need it.

Don't doubt the Bucs as their matchup. A re-signed Baker and Evans, coming off a season that just ended in a playoff win after everyone wrote them off. Now there are expectations. I'd LOVE to see that matchup.

No way they put Cincinnati out to beat the hell out of the Chiefs. That game will be 35 to 17. Bengals will dominate. They are the best team in the league now. The NFL loves the the team they give all the calls to. Cincy is way better now then when they went to the super bowl. They are deep with a great offensive line.

As a Steelers fan I'd love for it to be the Bengals. Both teams start off pretty slow compared to their late season form, and it is immediately shaking up 2 of the most contested divisions in the league. I feel like the Texans are going to handily control the division title this year

They should start with the Falcons. I think the big conference games should be saved for later in year when the playoff standings start to take shape. Going out of conference makes sense and there's lots of hype and intrigue around the falcons.

They have a better all around roster and are in the NFC. Bengals gonna pay all their weapons? I doubt it. They're going to lose that core

I think it’s going to be Chiefs Texans week 1, I’m calling it now. Chiefs won’t play the Bengals or Bills til late in the season. Chiefs are either going to Buffalo or at home vs the Bengals week 17 and the other likely anywhere between week 12-15. Ravens-Chiefs and the Super Bowl rematch will happen before their week 10.

They always reserve a game between Bengals-Chiefs, Chiefs-Bills, or Bengals-Bills on week 17 the past few seasons. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Chiefs play either the Bills or Bengals week 17. I think it’s definitely Chiefs-Texans or Ravens-Chiefs to open the season

Go Chiefs vs. Texans - champs vs. hottest team out of nowhere, just like last year with Lions. They should save Bengals/Chiefs for later in the season. Only real reason to go Bengals is because they know Cincy has had slow starts every year and they want to protect Mahomes’ sensitive ego from another loss to Cincy at Arrowhead. Btw, this is now 2 straight years (and maybe 3 of last 4?) where the Chiefs get to host this rivalry matchup. Try to process that and still rationally argue that the league doesn’t give KC obvious preferential treatment.

2023 - Yes Chiefs vs Lions 2022 - Yes Rams vs Bills 2021 - No Bucs vs Cowboys 2020 - No Chiefs vs Texans 2019 - No 100th Season Special Bears vs Packers, but also No Pats vs Steelers for SNF as SB Winners 2018 - No Eagles vs Falcons 2017 - No Pats vs Chiefs 2016 - Yes SB 50 rematch Broncos vs Panthers 2015 - No Pats vs Steelers 2014 - No Seahawks vs Packers So in the last 10 seasons the opener has been 70% of the time same conference opponent. So the chances that its an NFC team is only 30%. Now if the NFC teams they were player were good like the 9ers, Eagles, Rams or Lions then maybe. If they were playing one of the NFC teams that will draw in more viewers like the Bears due to Caleb or the Cowboys because everyone loves to watch them lose then possible.
