I'm a die-hard Steeler fan. But as a fan of football....how can you not root for these Lions. Lions in the Super Bowl would be greatest sports moment since Cubs won the series.

I’m so happy to see everyone supporting us (lions fans). Since elementary school, people have asked “why??” when I tell them I’m a lions fan (explaining ‘my family moved from detroit before having me’ to a bunch of fellow 8 year olds while my team went 0-16 wasn’t the easiest task lol) I turn 24 just before the superbowl and hearing y’all and others say they have a real chance to make it makes me so emotional. I just wanted one playoff win, this is a whole other level

Finally someone has the courage to say we at least have a chance. Everyone’s been doubting the Lions all year. After every game. Making excuses. Now’s the chance for this team to really show everyone they mean business.

Fun fact about the Lions back in 1957. That year, they had a one-game playoff to determine the Western conference champions, as both the Lions and their opponent both had the same regular season record. Their opponent in that conference championship game were none other, than the San Fransciso 49ers. And just like in that 1957 season, the Lions and the 49ers ended up with the same regular season record. But it gets even crazier, because you know who the Lions opponents were in the NFL championship game? The Cleveland Browns, a franchise that would one day, far into the future, become the Baltimore Ravens. Now, if you all don't know, the Lions have a bit of a curse on them, placed by Bobby Layne the starting QB for the Lions during their championship years, and who was the Lions unceremoniously traded after their 1957 championship, in the 1958 season. "The Lions will never win a championship for the next 50 years" he said, as the legend goes. 50 years later, in 2008, the Lions go 0-16, they didn't even win a game. In turn, they got the number one pick, Matthew Stafford, who grew up on the same street as Bobby Layne, went to the same high school as Bobby Layne, and now as it turns out, went to the same NFL franchise. Now, fast forward 12 years, to when, beaten-up, battered, and in the face of another rebuild, Matthew Stafford asks to be traded. The Lions oblige. Stafford went on to win a championship. And in return, they get draft picks that turned into playmakers, and a chance to truly suck for a year, so they could accurately evaluate their players and coaches, and eventually get the number two pick in the draft, the hometown hero, Aidan Hutchinson. And then, finally, this year, the Lions face off against Stafford and his Rams, and Stafford, the legacy of Bobby Layne, had this to say to Jared Goff: "Go win it all." The Bobby Layne curse is broken, because I think thw Detroit Lions are about to do just that: GO WIN IT ALL.

Lions have a ton of fans in Ontario Canada and we are pulling for you all the way. This team is so much fun to watch. Thank you Shela, Brad Dan and Chris for putting a team together that we can be so proud of.. ONE PRIDE, They will be waiting on your front porch !!!!

As a native of Michigan and a 40+ year Lions fan I can tell everyone that we were so TIRED of being embarrassed to say "Im a Lions fan" and that FINALLY now we can hold our heads up and be proud. What the Lions have already done for us fans is more than we ever dreamed we would see. Yes we know the odds of them winning the next game , Yes we know that most don't believe the Lions stand a chance. BUT we also know that the heart of this team is HUGE and has a ton of fight , a ton of GRIT and they will not just lay down. Maybe, just maybe...They will surprise everyone, 1 more time.......GO LIONS!!!!

I am a long-time Niners fan and this is NOT a gimme. Detroit has my respect.

I've never seen a person understand his leadership like Dan Campbell. I've visited Detroit, and this team is helping that city find a new heart.

To put this into perspective, my 82 year old Lions fan father was a sophomore in high school the last time they won their last championship.

Niners fan here. Love what the Lions are doing this year. Campbell sounds like a fun coach to have as a fan of the team. I remember from the first year the Warriors won from this dynasty and what that was like to finally get to the top after years of futility. This is different, so much longer. If not for playing the Niners, I’d be rooting for them.

I would hope that anyone who isn't Niners fan is rooting for Detroit. It would be great to see them finally make it.

Niner Fan here. I say this with no disrespect at all. I am not worried about the Lions. I am really tired of people telling me who we should want to face in games. I want to play the Lions; I want this team. Bring it on! Because as the saying goes, “If you want to be the man, you have to beat the man!” I know the Lions are a really excellent team who well deserves to be here. That’s exactly why I’m glad we’re playing them. No fluke teams. No mediocrity on a run. Just an excellent, deserving team coming for a dog fight. This, my friends is what Championship weekend is all about.

What’s crazy is that not too long ago, the Lions just signed Zach Ertz and there’s a chance he’ll play in the NFC Championship game this Sunday. Talk about perfect timing.

Dan Campbell put his heart and soul into this team and with the help and the brilliance of Brad Holmes they have put together a talented team of grit. A team that has heroes appearing throughout their games in moments that matter. They are a team of destiny. I am proud of those men and this team of focused and determined champions.

If you watch every Dan Campbell speech from the first press conference, to putting on pads in training camp, to hard knocks, and press conferences the last two years, he has spoken this into existence. Lions are shocking the league winning Sunday.

It's finally happening, the Lions being relevant. I have never been so proud to lose my voice last Sunday with my family and 66k other fans. It made me feel like a young kid again. We just want one more win for now. Go Lions

I'm 54 and a second generation Lions fanatic. My dad graduated in 1957. And here I am after our Wolverines finally won a national championship, the Lions are having their best season ever. Forty-Niner fan here, and I have nothing but the upmost respect for Dan Campbell and what he’s been able to do with the Lions. You guys have a good quarterback, a true number one receiver and tight end, a really good running out of Alabama, and a good defense that can stop the run. Plus, I love “Kid Rock” and his Anti-Bud Light approach!😂😂😂 Rich said it best, “All four teams have a chance!” I think it’s gonna be a great NFC Championship game.

The "Ike" mention is actually interesting trivia! After WW1 a young Captain in the US Army was tasked with proving soldiers and equipment could be moved across the country with the relatively new technology...the automobile. They stopped in Ohio and enjoyed a picnic with patriotic music and food on the farm of a great businessman of the era. That captain would go on to become the President of the United States who pushed for the construction of the interstate highway system we have today. That captain was Dwight D "Ike" Eisenhower . And the businessman? Harvey Firestone...whose great granddaughter is Lions owner Sheila Ford Hamp!

And the fact that a lot of critics tried to laugh MCDC out of Detroit. Who's laughing now lol. This team is the new America's team. I've been saying it for months and I will continue saying it.

I’m so proud of Dan, I prayed for him over the years because he believes in us when we wasn’t able to break through that negative brick wall for decades, we waited and believed our time will come, and to say while we’re alive. Born and raised a Lions fan since 1998. First year i fully paid attention, 2008 0-16. I figured at 10 years old that its rock bottom can only go up from there. While there were plenty of ups and downs, I can fully say this is the Greatest Lions Team I have ever seen. Why not us? What do we have to lose? 30 years of historical bas seasons. I love this Gritty team because they play as if there is nothing to lose.

The Lions are great this year. Fantastic story. Great players. Great coach. The NFCCG is going to be fantastic. I said long ago at the beginning of the season that it would be so cool to see 9ers and Lions in the NFCCG. I'm not hedging any bets or assumptions. Neither team needs to as both are excellent teams and have shown it. I'm excited for my team and I'm excited for the Lions. Obviously, I want to see my team win. started watching the lions in 66 (5yrs old) with dad, and was instantly hooked! seen it all, including the game against the bears where chuck hughes died on the field. bill munson, greg landrey, rodney peete , Erik Kramer joey harrington, scott mitchell, got to see the greatest running back of all time play live (barry sanders). i have emotionally prayed to god (please lord just let me live long enough to see the lions play in a super bowl.. now some almost 60 yrs later, just one game away from the dream and a prayer! thank you mr eisen for your unwavering support and for your statement "a great time to be alive"! im walking on air and a permanent smile on my face!
