I have NEVER seen you ALMOST speechless!! Which means I am now extremely curious about how that caviar tastes! I tried it once many moons ago and it wasn't cheap but it also wasn't expensive, if I remember I believe I paid MAYBE $40 for a small thingy of it and I wish I had gotten a cpl different ones but I only got the one and it was ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!! All I remember was how the eggs "popped" when I took a bite which took me by surprise.....I don't know why it did since I knew they were fish eggs but I think its because I thought it was going to be more like a jam or something and not actually unpopped (not a word.....I think, but don't care either, lol) extra salty and VERY raw fish (not the good kind either!) taste to them. So yeah.....for anyone who thinks they're like a fish egg jam or jelly.....WRONGO!! 🤣

I had caviar on my first winter cruise we also looked at an iceberg close up but the boat captain was afraid to get too close to the glacier because it could sink us. It was giving titanic. Just like scargot, caviar is the expensive version of a hot dog sausage: it's not necessarily good for you, everyone talks about eating it as if it wasn't so gross and absurd by what it is and how it's done, if you actually think about it... My mom used to love it when I was a kid, I kinda had it with her just because she was having it, until I became vegan and I 100% don't miss it. The only thing I actually miss isnt even the food, but the convenience of it It's just so disgusting.

My darling young one, you need the accouterments of a pearl spoon to ladle the fish roe onto the bread with a separate spoon, made of silver, for the cream fraiche. All that stuff, plus Lomonosov China, adds to the charm. As well, maybe some ice cold vodka. Served in tiny silver cups. I have Russian and Polish heritage on my mother's side, so we do this.
