I flew from the Uk on virgin some 15 years ago, and as we boarded the plane, Richard Branson was welcoming people in. We were the last to board so he asked us to join him in first class. We chatted all the way and he had his notebook with him and scribbled away. It was a pleasure to meet him, a real gent. I'll never forget it and have followed him ever since. As a fellow dyslexic, he is truly inspiring to me.

@@tuhairweronnie7385a change in Africa is for Africans. Why ask a white man to change Africa? We all know the history of Europeans and Africa. Leave him out of it and get whatever country you’re from in Africa to make that change. Better still do the change yourself. Change in Africa isn’t Richard Branson’s duty. Such dumb comment.

I worked in a 5⭐ hotel in Ireland a few years ago, and printed in the handbook was a quote which read; "Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don't want to". I have wanted to work for Richard Branson ever since then. He sounds amazing and sounds likes a really great man to work for. As the saying goes; "look after your staff and your staff will look after your business". I do hope the hotel brand would remove this quote from their handbook, because they train people like crap and they treat them the same way. Sadly.

It's not if you have a court case. Its why so many dyslexic men are in jail currently I think. The system can write faster than some people can read. It's literally that. They could be innocent or and productive. There's a gap in the market for diagnosis and Advocates for dyslexic people who can't afford legal fees but could pay something towards the help. It's a politically charged hornets nest if anyone did it. But it's a good fight. It looks as if there this help but in reality it's not in place. I am a dyslexic and no help diagnosed late in life dyslexic people in my experience don't give up easily. But it's a double bind system where winning is for losers. Here's the to do list of what's necessary 1) Decent reading software qnd extra appointments for dyslexics. 2)Advocates qnd accounting for dyslexic people in court proceedings. 3) Training given to legal professionals so they understand their own neurodivergence and how this can colour their perception of how dyslexic people work. 4)Memory prompts and notes allowed in court if the person has memory issues. 5) intelligence tests that are dyslexia friendly 6) loan people assistive technology 7) 3xtra time given for reading court documents. 8) Extra time for legal aid representatives to go through dyslexic peoples anointing of documents. 9) Disability laws change so that everyone has a fair trial. 10) Inclusion on the ground that there is different people who learn differently and that's OK. = culture change. 11) Thanks for listening. Dyslexic people do communicate in unconventional ways. We break social norms if necessary because the apparatus wasn't designed for us. It's a different more wordy neurotype. It doesn't make us mad bad or wrong. ✌️

This was an incredible episode! As a parent with a child who is dyslexic, when listening to Mr. Branson talk about his algebra struggles, no understanding to the things that have no relevance in his eyes he checks out and goes to read, research or watch what he’s interested in and masters it all. Mr. Branson kudos to you executing your visions to reality! There was so much to take away from this interview. 👏 Lastly, when I tell my son he’s different he always tells me “I’m a different type of smart”. While in school he never realized he had additional accommodations and when I was trying to explain to him what that meant and he didn’t instead continued to ask the school to put him in harder classes and I advocated for him no matter his differences in thinking. Again, great interview Mr. Branson is an amazing businessman!

I wrote a letter to Richard over a year ago as I wanted some advice on building a business, although the response from presumably his PR company was nice I've always wished to have spoken with Sir Richard Branson, I'm glad you did this interview as I feel like I perhaps now have. Thanks, Steven!

Brilliant! 🤜🤛 That went so quick. My bro-in law did some business with him designing an air terminal in SA some years ago which I don't think ever got the permission to go ahead. They were trying to fit in time for the meeting. Richard suggested a breakfast meeting...At my bro-in-laws house in North Yorkshire. Huge respect to him. I worked for Virgin Media for many years so thanks for putting the bread on my breakfast table Sir Richard Branson.👏👏

I have listened/watched a lot of Richard Branson's interviews over the years and this is, by far, the best. Also, so wonderful to hear him talk about his mother Eve who I know was a huge influence on him and his career

Wow, I can only resonate with what Steven says how inspiring Sir Richard Branson is. I would be like this is it, I can take a long break of my seat after this interview. Exept that you can't, and there are other amazing people out there. Much appreciation to Steven Bartlett for all his interviews.

I see the biggest reason he is so successful is because people he deals with respect him so much. Like he said, people like him,he trusts them, praise rather than criticise. Who wouldn't want to know or deal with this brilliant human being. His ethos is to make everything he's involved in better and he does. He is one of the most inspiring humans on this planet. And I'm always interested in anything he's involved in. You Steven are the younger version of Sir Richard, compassionate inquisitive and a doer. Love these interviews.
