Richard Burton is perhaps my FAVORITE classic film actor. His bravado, his genius, his angst all combined into a searing screen presence. He was simply brilliant.

I saw this on PBS. It was titled "Richard Burton: In From The Cold" A good appreciation of a fine artist.

An incredible and brilliantly talented person… he commands respect just with his personality!

Richard Burton (1925-1984) a man of talent, intellect. Married to Elizabeth Taylor from (1963-1974, then again 1975-1976). Star of films?Broadway- Cleopatra (1963), Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf? (1966), Taming of The Shrew (1967), The Sandpiper (1965). Broadway- Private Lives (1981). He even did a guest spot with Liz on Here's Lucy in 1970- where Lucille Ball (1911-1989) gets Liz's diamond stuck on her finger- "Ever heard of amputation"? Unfortunately for this Welsh actor, alcoholism was his undoing- he died from either a stroke or cirrhosis- need to do some research in 1984. Elizabeth Taylor was in attendance at his funeral- even though she was barred by his wife Sybil Williams.

He always seemed so bored with life. Even his childhood photos facial expressions look like he has already lived a lifetime or, not exactly arrogance, but being above it all.
