The sound balancing was awful in this video. Richard was constantly too quiet and the music was constantly too loud.

Might want to sort out the volume levels guys.

The sound engineer who dubbed this video clearly likes the sound of a V10 more than Hamster's voice. ...and music. It's a nice noise, but a 3 second lull every now and again would have been useful.

Some say… that he is legally deaf, and that he failed sound design class in college. All we know is, he’s the sound mixer for this video!

Whoever edits these generally does a great job but please turn poor old Hammond's audio up😂

This video did not need any added music, the BMW already provides an excellent soundtrack, and it's always great to watch Richard taking a car out and telling his stories.👍

Who's idea was it to use the most abnoxious music and then make it obnoxiously loud and the voices annoyingly silent? This video gave me a migraine

Reminds me of the top gear KZfaq videos, where the music audio is so loud that you can barely hear what’s being said.

Turning on subtitles came in handy for this video... That sound mix is a bit of a mess. A shame as it's a great car, and great filming.

Really sad to see such a legend go, especially since it has built an image for the channel at this point.

Fond memories of my V10 M5. One New Year’s Day we woke up, no plans. Said to my missus fancy lunch in Paris. She said not a chance we’d make it. Straight to the tunnel from Hampshire. Off and didn’t let off except for fuel (frequently). Pulled up at the Hotel Bristol for 13.00 lunch. We were feet up supper on laps at 8.30pm. Ballistic and never missed a beat. Have owned the E39 V8, Two F10s and now in the F90. The E60 gave me the most fun road trip of my life. 🙌

I'm honestly surprised that this is getting sold. I feel like they could've easily paid this car off through putting out some more content (assuming they haven't already). And it's such a rare and clean spec. But the new owner will surely be thrilled :)

I see the Editor who did the audio for the Supercars in France episode of TG is back working for you now.

Sad to see it go. By far the best Drivetribe car you've had on yet.

The music at the beginning and end drowns out Richard's audio. Unnecessary music ruins car videos.

Another vote for genuinely sad to see this gem leave the Drive tribe stable. This is the car that made me connect with Mike over the love of all things v10. But having heard one of this generation m5 saloons rip by me on my morning commute, I would describe that wailing howl as honey sweet. But I don't doubt that epic intake paired anger with the smooth swell. Sigh, I'll shutup now and to check the auction. Well done all! Can't wait to see what you do next.

What is going on with the sound mix!? Love the car, sad to see it go

As a Tesla owner, I love the ridiculous acceleration and speed of it. However there’s always something missing while doing that, the sound and feel of an engine and exhaust. It’s a huge part of the driving experience and will be missed by many with new cars. RIP naturally aspirated engines.

A part of me is glad that Vehicles like this can be brought back to life/ better than factory and then relesed back into the wild, to be enjoyed. Its a fun cycle to watch and one day i hope to be able to catch one of these vehicles and enjoy it in person.

I worked for BMW in 2007 and sold one of these, same colour but huge spec with lighter interior which I prefer - made 100% better by the manual and other mods.

I’ve got an 06 Sedan version, I love it. Oh how I wish I could add this one to the collection. Sad that BMW didn’t bring the estate over here.

I remember Richard saying about a Murcielago V12 at the end of its life, in the sound it made you could almost hear "YOU'LL MISS ME WHEN I'M GONE!" Same with this car. The new M5 will be faster, and probably a better car, but while you're driving that V10, I'm sure you can't really tell 😁

The sound reminds of the naturally aspirated Volvo 2.5 petrol straight 5 with an open exhaust. Just love the sound from a Volvo straight 5 and a V10 from BMW and the Lexus LFA. More of those please

In the North American market you can get manual transmission options on MCars.

Is this video mastered differently or using different audio equipment? The V10 made my shoulders tingle, I don’t remember being physically effected by this car in previous videos. Edit: agree with others on the music being too loud at the end though.

Isn't that the same road where Jeremy drove the m5 e60 and said when in M mode the car is magnificent. and moves and sounds like a Ferrari 430, which is the best car he ever driven (till this point) :D

The Volvo 850 estate BTCC car was a 2.0 n/a not a T5. Still fantastic though.

This thing badly needs a Supersprint secondary cat and resonator delete and Eisenmann race mufflers for more noise.

We realize what we had only when we lose it. 15 years ago when this car was new it was just another fast estate, like Audi RS6, Mercedes AMGs and so on. But now we realize that there will never be a V10 in family car, probably ever. Even V8 will soon die out. What an era we had that we didnt really appreciate fully.

Question for all: We all watch Richard's and James's videos as well as Clarkson's Farm. We all know that the magic happens with the sense of occasion when all three get together and there is a new Grand Tour announced. Who prefers GT and is it Mr Williams who provides the extra magic?

i don't know what they've done to the sound but on this video is seems to make more noise than my dinnan exhaust E60 M5 which is significatly louder than it was with the original exhaust. i suspect its just the way its been recorded.

Does anybody know whereabouts in Wales this was filmed please, particularly the part where Hammond is outside the car talking with the views behind him?
